Nick Sirianni is thought to be on the hot seat in Philadelphia following the ugly end to the Eagles’ season.
Last year’s Super Bowl finalists have been bounced out of the playoffs in the first round via a blowout loss to the Buccanneers, leaving Sirianni’s job in jeopardy. The head coach insisted he wasn’t worried about getting fired and his heart was with his players after Monday night’s loss.
According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Sirianni could be set to remain in Philly as he and GM Howie Roseman have contacted candidates for coaching and coordinator positions.
Still, it should not be assumed that he’s returning as he has yet to meet with team owner Jeffrey Lurie due to logistical issues.
“Until that meeting happens, all bets are off,” Russini added.
That Sirianni’s on the hot seat is hard to believe given that he has taken the team to the postseason in each of his three years as head coach, which is also a first where they’re concerned. He also coached them to the Super Bowl last term.
