One of the ugliest scenes in football history broke out last month during an Indoor Football League game between the Arizona Rattlers and the Massachusetts Pirates.
It started out with an incredibly dirty hit on an onside kick attempt by Massachusetts, as the Pirates’ Leon O’Neal Jr. took a massive shot to the chest that put him on the ground in pain.
He was eventually able to make it to his feet and walk off the field under his own power. And while doing so, he didn’t like what he heard from one of the Rattlers fans, so he jumped into the stands to confront the individual.
Based on the footage below, it appears as though O’Neal Jr. is confronting a child, as a woman can clearly be seen yelling, “He’s a kid!”
Some older fans in the area didn’t appreciate O’Neal’s threats towards the child, so they got into his face. And before you knew it, bodies were flying everywhere — with some other children seated in the front row nearly getting trampled by the giant players.
O’Neal and three other players from the Pirates were ejected from the game, and the former Texas A&M Aggie was also suspended indefinitely by the league following the incident — which took place on July 2nd but is now going viral.

O’Neal claims he was not going after the child — instead, he claims he heard a fan make a racist comment and was trying to confront them.
The 24-year-old played three seasons at Texas A&M before signing with the San Francisco 49ers after the 2022 draft. Unfortunately for him, he was cut by the team after getting injured in training camp. He was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League earlier this year, but was released before joining the Pirates.
