The Kansas City Chiefs could be dealing with a spreading illness ahead of the Super Bowl.
The Cheifs and Eagles are set to go head-to-head in Super Bowl 57 this Sunday in a highly-anticipated matchup. But KC might not be going into the game in full health as Chris Jones told reporters he isn’t feeling great this week, per the NFL Network.
James Palmer of the Network tweeted the defensive lineman told him he had a runny nose, as well as a sore throat and dry eyes but would be ready for Sunday. The reporter added that Jones was not the only one in the Chiefs contingent experiencing the symptoms.
Fans will be sweating on the team’s condition given what’s on the line. Jones, in particular, is an important defensive piece.
A first-team All-Pro name this season, he registered a career-high in tackles in 2022/23 with 44. He averaged 15.5 sacks too. The Chiefs will hope to have the player a the level they’re used to having him as the Philadelphia offense has been formidable all the way to the big game.
This isn’t the first time the Chiefs are dealing with an illness scare before a Super Bowl. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was among 20 people due to get a haircut from a barber who tested positive for COVID-19 before the Super Bowl showdown vs. the Buccaneers in 2021. Fortunately, no one missed the game.

Fans will hope that’s the case against the Eagles on Sunday. But it’s also worth noting that this could be da result of a change in climate since the teams are spending the week in Phoenix.
