There is a reason the Seahawks “staffer” who got into an altercation with Eagles wide receiver A.J.Brown isn’t getting treated like Dom DiSandro.
“Big Dom,” as he’s otherwise known, has been banned from the sideline for the rest of the season following his ejection stemming from a confrontation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw a few weeks ago.
It was hard to believe that we would have been treated to another similar situation so soon. But, as it turns out, we didn’t.
According to Mike Garafolo, the individual in question was not a staffer and was practice squad offensive lineman Joey Hunt.
Given that Hunt is a player, he’s unlikely to get the same punishment Big Dom was handed.
Still, fans aren’t willing to let it fly as they don’t feel like someone should be able to get away with shoulder-checking an on-field player just because they’re in street clothes.

“So cause he’s a player he can just throw a shoulder unprovoked into AJ Brown and not get a penalty? What a precedent! An inactive practice squad guy has less of a reason to be on the sideline than Big Dom does,” one wrote.

Whether or not Hunt gets retroactively punished remains to be seen.
