Washington’s NFL team could be closing in on determining a new nickname, and new head coach Ron Rivera is hopeful that the name could be changed before the start of the 2020 season.
After stadium sponsor FedEx publicly requested a name change, the Redskins announced on Friday that the team would initiate a “thorough review of the team’s name.”

The 3-on-3 pro basketball league founder of BIG3 took to Twitter on Sunday and dropped the suggestion that the Redskins should change their name to the Orangeskins. He then dropped a photoshopped picture of Donald Trump in that logo.
The Washington Redtails has also been gaining steam on social media, and a designer named Pete Rogers even mocked up some designs of a reimagined team logo and uniform.
