Ian Rapoport as social media buzzing about where Aaron Rodgers might end up in 2025.
The NFL Network reporter was discussing Deshaun Watson’s massive contract adjustment with the Cleveland Browns.
He explained that lessening Watson’s cap charge in future years while keeping his fully guaranteed $92 million intact was to let everyone know that Deshaun would be back on the team in 2025.
However, Rapoport expects competition for the job in 2025, as he mentioned Kirk Cousins, who is expected to be released by the Falcons, and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
. @RapSheet just mentioned Aaron Rodgers as potential competition in the QB room for the #Browns next year should he not return to the #Jets.

You read that correctly. There is a chance that Deshaun Watson could share a quarterback room with Rodgers.
The adjustment on Watson’s contract is intended to help the Browns field a competitive roster for 2025 and beyond.

He has $46 million due to him over the next two years to complete the $230 million contract signed in 2022 after he was traded from the Houston Texans.
The Browns’ acquisition of Watson has been considered by some in the league to be among the worst in league history.
The team would do anything to be better at quarterback, even if that means bringing in an aging Aaron Rodgers.
What Does Aaron Rodgers Go from Here?
There’s a possibility the New York Jets could have a different starting quarterback next year.
Rodgers has already made his decision on the 2025 season. The veteran QB said earlier this month that his future with the Jets and in the NFL is uncertain, but he would prefer to play in New York if he were to play in 2025.
Rodgers mentioned that being released would be a new experience for him as it had never happened to him during his NFL career.
His pladoesn’t24 doesn’t leave the franchise with anything to state that they would want him back.
Aaron Rodgers has publicly stated that he’s willing to take a pay cut to remain with the Jets this offseason, but the decision will ultimately remain with the franchise.
