Aaron Rodgers’ lack of decision making has upset an NFL insider who is paid to follow things that he does during his career.
On Tuesday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport admitted that not only is he sick of the offseason rumors about Aaron Rodgers, but the Packers may be sick of it as well.
“It doesn’t sound like that to me as a scenario,” Rapoport said. “I mean, I’m sick of it, and would certainly understand if they’re sick of it. But he’s Aaron Rodgers and still great, you know what you have.”
With the start of free agency coming up on March 15, the Packers don’t have much time left to figure out what they’re going to do with Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers emerged from his darkness retreat last week, but has yet to let anybody know if he plans to retire, play with the Packers, or request a trade. He made it clear he wouldn’t hod the franchise hostage over his decision just as he stated last offseason. However, he has only spoken to the GM via text message since leaving his sky cave.
Rodgers is owed nearly $60 million in guaranteed money if he plays in 2023 as part of the $150 million contract extension he signed this past March. If he decides to play elsewhere, the New York Jets have inquired about trading for Rodgers. It all depends on what the Packers want in return.
