The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly looking for a trade partner for one of their star wide receivers ahead of the fast-approaching deadline.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, Hunter Renfrow is unlikely to be a Raider after October 31 as he has fallen out of favor with head coach Josh McDaniels. Renfrow has had involvement in 36 percent of the team’s offensive snaps so far this season, a career-low, while his relationship with McDaniels is said to be “fractured.”
Schultz noted that both parties want a trade and are of the view that a change of environment would benefit everyone involved.
“It has not worked out since he got that big money deal with the Raiders and it really comes down to a fractured relationship with Josh McDaniels and this goes all the way back to last season,” Schultz said this week.
“From everything I’ve been told it’s been really frustrating for Renfrow in the sense that not only is not really being used, he’s not on the field, but I think you have a coach and a player that for whatever reason have never been able to get on the same page.”
Renfrow was handed a two-year extension worth $32 million last year but had a difficult season, one in which he missed seven games due to injury. McDaniels doesn’t seem all that keen on giving him proper opportunities in 2023, so perhaps a trade would be best for both team and player.
