The Buffalo Bills have lived up to the hype as a Super Bowl contender through six weeks, holding a 4-2 record thanks to impressive performances by both sides of the ball.
Buffalo enters Week 7 with the No. 3 scoring offense (28.8 points per game) as well as the third-best scoring defense (14.8 points allowed per game). They’re just one game behind the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC’s top seed, and Buffalo plays both of those clubs late in the season.
The Bills will certainly be a buyer ahead of the Oct. 31 trade deadline, and GM Brandon Beane should definitely look to add another weapon to complement Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and James Cook on offense.
Buffalo’s lack of a game-changing No. 2 receiver was especially evident in their 2020 and 2022 playoff losses to Kansas City and Cincinnati, respectively. Though Davis is on pace for a career year (he has 21 catches for 341 yards and six touchdowns), the Bills could use another reliable pass-catcher to take the pressure off Davis and Diggs.
Las Vegas Raiders’ slot receiver Hunter Renfrow feels like a good bet to be traded, with only six catches for 59 yards and zero touchdowns this season. The one-time Pro Bowler is two years removed from a 1,000-yard season, but he hasn’t been a fit in Josh McDaniels’ offense whatsoever.
Buffalo should offer Vegas a 2024 fifth-round pick and a 2025 sixth-rounder for Renfrow. The Raiders would probably be thrilled to get his salary off the books, and Renfrow would embrace the fresh start on a Super Bowl contending team.

In 2021, 51 of Renfrow’s 103 catches went for first downs. He would be the ideal third-down security blanket for a Buffalo team that needs more than Diggs and Davis to produce come playoff time. Why not make the move if the former Pro Bowler will cost next to nothing in a trade?
