Former Philadelphia Eagles standout defensive lineman Hugh Douglas has a broken heart and mourning the loss of his son, who died in a car crash near Atlanta earlier this week.
Morehouse College confirmed Hugh Douglas’ son Hugh was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday. Hugh and his roommate Christion Files Jr. were members of Morehouse College’s class of 2025.
The vehicle hit a power pole and overturned, killing the two people inside the car. Hugh Douglas and Christion Files Jr. were pronounced dead.
Investigators state the vehicle tried to pass another car at a high rate of speed when Files Jr. lost control and drove off the roadway, knocking down two utility poles.
The former NFL star took to social media in a heart-wrenching tribute, posting multiple throwback photos of them on Twitter and Instagram.
“You were already a better man than me,” Douglas captioned one post on the platform X.
