The Las Vegas Raiders were in desperate need for a number one receiver after the 2019 season, one that saw a ton of drama after the release of Antonio Brown.
The team would go on to select Henry Ruggs III with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
On Tuesday, the Raiders agreed to terms first-round WR Henry Ruggs to his rookie contract, according to Ian Rapoport. The 21-year-old signed a four-year, $16,671,626 contract that includes a $9,684,819 signing bonus. The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Raiders to pick up for the 2024 season.
Ruggs caught 98 passes for 1,716 yards receiving and 24 touchdowns to go along with 75 yards rushing on two carries and one touchdown during his 3-year college career at Alabama.
The Las Vegas Raiders rookie wide receiver — who ran a 4.27 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine – was given a speed rating of 98, in the EA Sports Madden 21 rankings released by game developing EA Sports last week.
