Back in 2020, the Los Angeles Rams traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans. Now, almost two years to the day of that trade, Cooks name is being brought up in trade talks yet again.
At the time, the Texans traded the 57th pick in that year’s draft to Los Angeles for Cooks and a 2022 fourth-rounder.
This time around, it appears that the Texans are asking for a high draft pick in return for any team hoping to get Cooks. Per Mike Fisher, Texans GM Nick Caserio is reportedly hoping to get a second-round pick in exchange for Cooks.
Cooks is one of the most valuable deep threats in all of football. He’s topped the 1,000-yard threshold in all but two seasons in his 8-year NFL career. Just last season, Cooks hauled in a career-high 90 receptions for 1,037 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Despite having battled concussions in the past, Cooks has managed to suit up for 31 games over the past two years and has played in at least 14 games in all but his rookie season.
