If the Miami Dolphins are looking to make a deal for Deshaun Watson, they will have to come a bit harder with assets for the Texans and the team currently doesn’t have a QB they would want in return.
According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are not very high on Tua Tagovailoa. They don’t believe the former first-round pick would be a quality replacement for Watson.
“Miami has a quarterback with upside in Tua Tagovailoa, but that could be a deal-breaker for the Texans,” Wilson said. “Tagovailoa isn’t regarded as a quarterback the Texans will view as an adequate replacement for Watson, according to multiple league sources.”
Tagovailoa threw for 1,814 yards and 11 touchdowns, but his inconsistent play had him getting benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick after he was handed the job.
Watson showed last year that he did not need DeAndre Hopkins as he poured in 4,823 passing yards to go with 36 total touchdowns.
