The Houston Texans are headed to the playoffs, but one player on the team is the sickest man in that locker room.
Texans tight end Dalton Schultz needed six receptions at Indianapolis to reach 60 this season and trigger a $250,000 incentive and needed 107 receiving yards to reach 700 this season to trigger another $250,000 incentive.
Unfortunately, Schultz fell just short of triggering his contract incentive in the team’s regular-season finale. The 27-year-old six-year NFL veteran missed out on $500,000.
The tight end finished Saturday night’s matchup with five catches for 42 yards on seven targets.
He’ll end the 2023 regular season with 59 receptions for 635 yards and five touchdowns.
This is equivalent to losing a parlay on your last leg. Every bettor knows this feeling.

Schultz signed a one-year, $6,250,000 contract with the Texans in 2023. Don’t feel too bad for Schult as he has cashed in on $22,105,529 in earnings, per Spotrac.
In the meantime, the Texans defeated the Colts 23-19 behind rookie quarterback CJ Stroud and third-year wide receiver Nico Collins, who racked up 195 yards and a touchdown.
The franchise will return to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
