Star quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Tua Tagovailoa squared off in Germany on Sunday in what was one of the most highly-anticipated games of the 2023 season given that it was Tyreek Hill’s first outing against the Kansas City Chiefs since he left to join the Miami Dolphins last year.
The Chiefs ended up with the win, heading back home after a 21-14 result. But not before the two QBs engaged in a heartwarming embrace.
Tua, who had a ref laugh in his face on the day, made some big mistakes at the end of the game as he missed a wide-open receiver and fumbled the snap on his final drive. He’s taken lots of heat over it and should have been feeling like crap after the clock ran out. Still, he was able to put his feelings aside to share a moment with his opposite number.
NFL Films caught the conversation between the two quarterbacks as Mahomes was heard telling Tua he’s had a great year and he hopes he remains healthy, also sending wishes to the Dolphins star’s family. Tua returned the compliments in kind.
The video also shows some of the other QB postgame exchanges, including from Joe Burrow and Joe Allen and Lamar Jackson and Geno Smith.

Both the Chiefs and Dolphins are headed into bye weeks following their clash on Sunday. The KC is scheduled for a Super Bowl rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles upon their return while Miami will be playing a rejuvenated Las Vegas Raiders team.
