Lamar Jackson displayed his lightning-fast comeback skills in a recent Twitter battle with former Baltimore safety Bernard Pollard. The back and forth trash-talk stemmed from social media comments made by Pollard about the signal-caller’s talent and impact on his former team in Baltimore.
Pollard turned some heads by saying top wide receivers don’t want to play with Jackson.
“No TOP Wr will ever come there while LJ is there,” he tweeted. “Plenty of WRs have been available to get in the off-season while LJ has been starting, but nobody wants to go. They give him the respect, but they don’t want to play with him. LJ is good but he’s not able to make the throws.”
Pollard acknowledged the 25-year-old’s clear-cut talent, he argued it doesn’t make him one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
“He’s def a Top 10 talent, but as for a Top 10 QB I don’t see it,” Pollard wrote on Twitter. “I believe he should get paid by the #Ravens and should get TOP dollar!”
On Thursday, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown called out that narrative. Despite being traded to the Arizona Cardinals, the former teammate of Jackson still has love for his former teammate.

“Facts! The Narrative they tryna create on my dawg is ridiculous,” Brown said. “He can run the show in any type of offense he just so happen to be in the one he in and doing it at a top level ! And Every Wr whoever played with him knows that.”
Brown had 91 receptions for 1,008 yards with six touchdowns in 2021. No Cardinals receiver had over 1,000 yards last season.
He has the chance to amass a ton of stats while DeAndre Hopkins serves his six-game suspension.
