Monday Night Countdown’s “C’Mon Man!” segment went a bit too far for a lot of people’s liking and many of them took their dislike of it to social media.
ESPN analyst Randy Moss got the brunt of it after he mocked a high school QB for kneeling on 4th down with seconds left on the clock and getting his team eliminated from the postseason as a result. Moss repeatedly uses the name of the player, Bladen Fike, while blatantly laughing at his expense.
His head coach was none too pleased.
“It’s disheartening to see @espn run a segment like this on a kid,” the coach wrote from an account @CdickC. “I as HIS HEAD COACH take full responsibility. Any criticism needs to be directed towards me. @BlakeFIke is a tremendous young man with a bright future! Proud to be his coach! #FamilY”
Added Fike: “I took my eye off the clock. However, criticizing me off of one play does not define me as a Quarterback. I am much better than that! I love my team and my coaches! Thanks for having my back. #familY #purpleReign @CdickC @RandyMoss”
