There’s always a ton of drama surrounding the NFL’s choice for which team will participate in HBO’s hit series ‘Hard Knocks’ each year.
This year was no different, as the league had reportedly struggled to convince a team to accept the role. One team who was always rumored to be in contention was the New York Jets, although, they made it quite clear that they had no interest in taking part.
The NFL doesn’t seem to care, however, as they have chosen to feature Robert Saleh’s club in the 2023 edition of ‘Hard Knocks.’
While the league hasn’t officially named the Jets as this year’s team, Packers President Mark Murphy appears to have spilled the beans.
In his article on Packers.com, Murphy talked about how he’s looking forward to seeing Aaron Rodgers and the other former Packers on this year’s show. Murphy’s comment was in response to a fan’s question about Hard Knocks.
“Hard Knocks” is a great show and gives fans an inside look at a team’s training camp. It also provides good publicity for the team. The downside is that it can be a distraction and teams are concerned that other teams can learn information from the show. The best thing to do if you don’t want to be on ‘Hard Knocks’ is to make the playoffs every year. The league (and HBO) can only require a team to appear on “Hard Knocks” if they have failed to make the playoffs two years in a row. I’m anxious to see the Jets and the many ex-Packers on ‘Hard Knocks’ this summer – should be very entertaining.”

Murphy’s not the only one looking forward to seeing Hard Knocks this year. Thanks to their recent acquisition of Aaron Rodgers, the Jets have the opportunity to provide one of the most intriguing storylines in the history of the show. And on top of A-Rod, there’s also all the drama going on behind him on the depth chart, with former second-overall pick Zach Wilson.
Saleh might not like it, but this is news that every NFL fan should be excited about.
