From one hall of fame player to another.
Emmitt Smith knows what it’s like to be in the position that Tom Brady is about to embark on, having spent his first 13 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, winning multiple Super Bowls, before he would finish his career with the Arizona Cardinals.
Brady left the Patriots after 20 years and signed a 2-year deal with the Bucs, but stated once before that he wants to play until he’s 45, so that will likely be a 3rd year.
Smith recently took to Instagram and delivered some words of wisdom to the iconic QB and his new journey.
“Embrace your new teammates, bring your winning spirit and work ethic to the locker room. Download as much knowledge as you can to these young players who are thirsting for knowledge. Most importantly, prepare to realize how much your love for this game is tied to your love for the Patriots and their fans. Good luck to you on your new journey my friend. See you in Canton Goat!!!” he wrote.
Brady made his signing official on Friday, posting an image and message on Instagram.

“Excited, humble and hungry …if there is one thing I have learned about football, it’s that nobody cares what you did last year or the year before that…you earn the trust and respect of those around through your commitment every single day,” Brady wrote Friday morning on Instagram. “I’m starting a new football journey and thankful for the Buccaneers for giving me an opportunity to do what I love to do. I look forward to meeting all my new teammates and coaches and proving to them that they can believe and trust in me.
“I have always believed that well done is better than well said, so I’m gonna not gonna say much more — I’m just gonna get to work!”
