Tom Brady’s NFL playing days may be over, but he could be returning to the league in a different role.
As a player in the league, he clearly owned the Miami Dolphins anytime he stepped foot on the field against them, but this time around, he may actually have ownership in them off the field.
Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, anonymous sources within the Dolphins’ organization have confirmed there have been discussions about Brady becoming a part-owner of the organization.
“As to the Brady side of the equation, multiple Dolphins sources acknowledged under condition of anonymity that the team has had internal discussions about Brady purchasing a minority interest in the team,” Florio tweeted.
Tom Brady has been connected to the Miami Dolphins, whether a QB to play for them or now as a potential owner.
“Per multiple sources, and as first revealed on Monday’s PFT Live, the Dolphins planned to pursue Sean Payton to be the coach and Tom Brady to be the starting quarterback. The plan was scrapped after Brian Flores filed his lawsuit against the NFL generally and the Dolphins, Giants, and Broncos specifically,” Florio wrote, via Pro Football Talk.

The Dolphins started their year off with the stunning decision to fire head coach Brian Flores and that resulted in Flores filing a lawsuit against the league and three organizations, including his former employer.
In the lawsuit, the Dolphins former coach alleged that team owner Stephen Ross offered him $100,000 for each time they lost a game late in 2019. That goal was clearly trying to get the No. 1 pick and select Joe Burrow, who was the top draft prospect of that year’s class.
Ownership might not be what many fans expect to bring Brady back to the NFL, especially with various rumors still swirling of his interest in playing again.
