ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that an ownership group including NBA legend Magic Johnson and led by Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris has submitted an official bid for the Washington Commanders.
According to Schefter, the $6 billion bid is fully financed and meets current owner Dan Snyder’s valuation, while Harris and billionaire Mitchell Rales would be the two principal investors should it go through.
A subsequent report from Schefter and Brian Windhorst noted that Canadian billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos had also submitted a fully-funded $6 billion bid.
It’s now thought that the team could be sold before this year’s NFL Draft, which kicks off on April 27.
As to whether Snyder plans to accept either one of the bids is still unclear because he could be keen on fielding additional offers.
