OJ Simpson was a controversial figure while he was on Earth, and he continues to remain so even after his death.
Months after his death, TMZ Sports dropped major news that police in Minnesota had obtained a thumb drive that allegedly contained audio of Simpson confessing to the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
At the time of the initial report, the recording also allegedly included Simpson implicating a third party.
TMZ reported that cops seized a backpack belonging to Iroc Avelli, Simpson’s former bodyguard, during an arrest more than two years ago.
“The docs say Avelli was arrested in March 2022, and police executed a search warrant to collect evidence, including a green backpack with live ammunition and other items,” TMZ wrote.
“Bloomington PD in Minnesota says in June 2024 — 2 months after O.J. died — they got a call from an LAPD detective who advised that Avelli and his attorney met with LAPD and told cops inside the green backpack was a thumb drive with the recording of O.J.’s confession.”

Major Update Revealed What Was On The Recording Involving OJ Simpson
Police believed they have audio of OJ Simpson confessing to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, per TMZ Sports.
The former NFL running back was found not guilty in the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in June 1994.
Despite overwhelming evidence pointing to him, he somehow got off.
Unfortunately, it was not meant to be for everybody hoping to finally have the evidence against OJ Simpson for a second time.
No murder confessions were found in recordings that were seized from Simpson’s ex-bodyguard, police told TMZ later on.
The recordings reportedly contained zero evidence of Simpson and were mostly just audio of Iroc Avelli, Simpson’s former bodyguard, speaking to himself.
