Retired NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski issued a humorous offer to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
The 33-year-old Gronkowski is going to attempt a 25-yard field goal during Super Bowl Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Gronk has retired from football twice now, but it didn’t stop him from making a lighthearted offer to America’s Team.
“Jerry Jones, if I make this kick, please give me a call. I will come back and un-retire as a kicker,” Gronkowski told reporters, via USA Today Sports.
The Cowboys’ kicking woes came to light during Super Wild Card Weekend. The Cowboys soundly defeated Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-14, but kicker Brett Maher missed his first four (!) extra point attempts that day.
Maher did make his fifth extra point attempt, but the kicking woes didn’t completely go away in the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers. Though Maher made both his field goal attempts, his one extra point attempt was blocked.
Jones and the Cowboys intend to start over at the kicking position in 2023. The team signed Tristan Vizcaino to their practice squad last month.

As for Gronkowski, he retired after winning a third Super Bowl ring with the New England Patriots in the 2018 season. One year later, however, he ended retirement and reunited with Tom Brady by orchestrating a trade to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brady and Gronkowski captured a fourth Super Bowl championship ring together in their first season with the Bucs. The future Hall of Famer turned back the clock and hauled in two touchdown receptions in the big game.
Gronk returned to the Bucs on a one-year deal in the 2021 offseason. Tampa won the NFC South division crown for the first time since 2007, but they were eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.
