If the Green Bay Packers are going to trade Aaron Rodgers, it won’t be to a team that could force them to see the QB in the playoffs and possibly knock them out.
Last week, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers stated on The Pat McAfee Show that he wouldn’t entertain returning to the team if they went through a rebuild. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that, “The Packers are expected to move on from certain players, which Aaron Rodgers probably will not like.”
On Tuesday, it was then reported that if the team is going to trade him, it won’t be to a team in the NFC, only an AFC team.
Rodgers signed a three-year extension in the offseason but said in June that “there will be decisions after this year for sure.”
Those decisions will only involve teams from the AFC as of now.
One of those teams seems to be the New York Jets who reportedly have made it clear that they will pay a high asking price to bring Rodgers to the Big Apple.

When the Packers traded the then-38-year-old Brett Favre to the New York Jets in 2008, the return only got them a conditional fourth-round pick. NBC Sports’ Peter King offered a glimpse at what their asking price could be this time around in his weekly “Football Morning in America” column.
“Consider that Rodgers’ cap numbers in the next two seasons would be $48.3 million, combined,” King wrote. “That’s certainly manageable. As for the compensation due Green Bay, my guess is the Pack would want at least two first-round picks.”
Buckle up for yet another long offseason of Rodgers rumors.
