The Green Bay Packers have signed CB David Long Jr. to the practice squad but that meant somebody had to lose their spot.
The Packers cut popular running back Kenyan Drake from their practice squad Friday.
Long’s return will provide an opportunity for the Packers to elevate him to the gameday roster for Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Round showdown with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers signed Drake to their practice squad in December and elevated him to the game-day roster in Weeks 14 and 15 while Aaron Jones was nursing a knee injury.
In two games, he carried the ball once for no gain and played just a single snap as he faded into obscurity behind Jones, Dillon, and Patrick Taylor.
Before Green Bay, Drake played in two games for the Baltimore Ravens and caught two passes for 31 yards and no touchdowns.

The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys get together again, this time in a Wild Card contest at AT&T Stadium, a place where the Cowboys have not lost all season long.
Packers fans are surely going to travel for this game, but they likely will not be able to take over the place from rowdy Cowboys fans. The Dallas Cowboys are asking fans to make AT&T Stadium a white-out, meaning Cowboys fans are encouraged to wear white.
It should be rather easy to spot Packers fans in the crowd.
