It seems you can’t have a Green Bay Packers off-season if you don’t have quarterback drama.
The Green Bay Packers have a looming decision on Jordan Love’s fifth-year option. With Aaron Rodgers expected to be back in 2023, it seem sas if Love might finally be headed out.
Appearing on Homer & Tony, for ESPN Milwaukee, trusted Green Bay insider Jason Wilde detailed his conversation with Jordan Love.
“I had a really great conversation with Jordan [Love] on Friday afternoon,” Green Bay insider Jason Wilde said. “I think he very clearly, even though he wouldn’t flat-out say it, he does not want to sit for another year. So, if we get to year four, and Rodgers does come back, I am fairly confident that he will seek a trade.”
The Packers haven’t had to worry about quarterbacks since 1992, when the team traded for Brett Favre after his rookie season with the Atlanta Falcons. Since then, the Packers have only had two franchise quarterbacks: Favre, then Rodgers, who had to wait three years before he got the keys to the franchise.
The Packers surely do not want to go awaqy from Aaron Rodgers and then see him go elsewhere and possibly win a title. The Packers find themselves in a nearly impossible to navigate situation.
If Rodgers stays around and we get more of this year and Love goes on to be a star elsewhere, it will also be devastating.

The third-year QB has the misfortune of playing on the same side as reigning league MVP Aaron Rodgers. As such, he has yet to play a lot of snaps since being drafted by the Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft. The 2022 NFL season has been the same as the 2020 and 2021 seasons for Love, with him playing mostly garbage time. This season, Love has totaled 186 passing yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in three games played.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are currently enjoying their bye week. He has thrown for under 230 passing yards in his last four games and has thrown for 255 yards only once this season. This season, Rodgers has recorded 2,864 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 13 games.
