The San Francisco 49ers are headed to the Super Bowl on the back of two gutsy performances. But history appears to be against them as a certain graphic has popped up online which suggests they have little to no chance of beating the Kansas City Chiefs.
With the game being hosted at the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the Niners will be traveling slightly East for the game. This is thought to be a bad sign as X user @JayCuda has shared an image showing that, over the last 30 years, the team traveling West to a neutral location has come out on top in the Super Bowl.
Furthermore, six of the seven teams to win such games hailed from the AFC.
The Niners have already been hit by this as they traveled east to New Orleans and lost to the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. They will hope to change things around with a win over the Chiefs next Sunday.
