The Divisional round of the playoffs saw some great quarterback performances, from all NFL teams. Some quarterbacks got their teams the victories they needed to advance into championship weekend, while others fought hard and came up empty handed in heartbreaking defeat.
Here are the grades for all NFL team’s quarterbacks that competed in the Divisional Round:
Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A- (Last week: playoff bye week)
Lamar Jackson played an excellent game as he and the Ravens defeated the Houston Texans 34-10. Jackson completed 16 passes for 152 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 100 yards on 11 carries, and scored two rushing touchdowns, but was sacked three times. Jackson played strong and mighty as he and the Ravens await the arrival of the Kansas City Chiefs, for the AFC Championship game.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen: B (Last week B+)
Josh Allen performed very well in the Bills’ very intense neck-and-neck battle with the Kansas City Chiefs, despite losing 24-27. Allen completed 26 passes for 186 yards, threw a touchdown to Khalil Shakir against no interceptions, rushed for 72 yards on 12 carries, scored two rushing touchdowns, and wasn’t sacked by the Chiefs’ defense. It was a solid performance by Allen, who did everything he could, despite Tyler Bass missing a very crucial game-tying kick in the fourth quarter. Allen heads into the offseason looking to set his sights on and even stronger 2024 season.

Jared Goff had a solid game at home, in the Lions’ 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Goff completed 30 passes for 287 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for six yards on six carries, but was sacked twice. Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love: C (Last week A)
Jordan Love had a rough time on the road in Santa Clara, CA, as he and the Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers 21-24. Love completed 21 passes for 194 yards, threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, rushed for three yards on five carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. Not the best night for Love, as he and the Packers were sent home from the playoffs in a hard-fought and very close Divisional round game. Love does deserve a lot of credit for helping the Packers return to the playoffs for the first time since 2021. He can lead this team for more years to come, as he continues improve his performance, in 2024.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: C- (Last week A)
After C.J. Stroud’s amazing performance in Wildcard weekend, Stroud and the Texans were shown the exit, as they lost to the Baltimore Ravens 10-34. Stroud completed 19 passes for 175 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for nine yards on three carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. A=Even though this was painful loss for Stroud and the Texans, this is only the beginning for the young signal caller, who has put the Texans back on the map. Stroud and the Texans will undoubtedly be back to torment the AFC South, for seasons to come.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes: A- (last week B+)
It was a strong night in western New York for Patrick Mahomes, as he and the Chiefs won a very intense 27-24 nail-biter against the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes completed 17 passes for 215 yards, threw two touchdowns to Travis Kelce against no interceptions, rushed for 19 yards on six carries, and wasn’t sacked by the Bills’ defense. A strong night for Mahomes, as he and the Chiefs looked onward to the AFC Championship game. The battle with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens is now set.
San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy: A- (last week: playoff bye week)
Brock Purdy went to work, after resting in the 49ers’ playoff bye week, as they defeated the Green Bay Packers 24-21. Purdy completed 23 passes for 252 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 14 yards on six carries but was sacked once. Purdy continues to play at an elite level, as he and the 49ers focus on the Detroit Lions coming to town, after their divisional win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: C- (Last week B)
It was a rough day on the road for Baker Mayfield, as he and the Buccaneers lost to the Detroit Lions 23-31. Mayfield completed 26 passes for 349 yards, threw three touchdowns against two interceptions, and rushed for 15 yards on two carries but was sacked four times. A painful loss to end a strong and successful season, as Mayfield proved a lot of doubters wrong. If the Bucs want to be successful and compete for the NFC South in 2024, they need to re-sign Mayfield in the 2024 offseason.
