Week nine saw jaw-dropping performances from some of the league’s best wide receivers as they continue making their marks in the NFL, declaring for all why they’re the best.
On the other hand, some receivers had some tough performances in losses, while some wide receivers had a tough time as their offenses struggled. In the NFL, anything can change in the blink of an eye, as each week has shown extraordinary range for wide receivers so far this season.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ wide receivers after week nine.
Who are the top wide receivers in the NFL after week 9?
Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr.: D-
The Cardinals may have won 29-9 against the unraveling Chicago Bears, but Marvin Harrison Jr. and the passing attack was a non-factor for the majority of the game. Harrison Jr. caught two receptions for 34 yards and didn’t score a touchdown. Not Harrison Jr.’s best afternoon for the Redbirds, but he will rebound and hopefully get more receptions and yardage in the coming weeks.
Atlanta Falcons: Darnell Mooney: A-
Mooney had a very nice afternoon for the Falcons as they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 27-21. Mooney caught five receptions for 88 yards and scored a touchdown. The Falcons did lose Drake London to a hip injury during the game, and he could be out for some time. Mooney, Kyle Pitts, and Ray-Ray McCloud IV will have to step up for their fallen teammate until he’s cleared to return.

Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers: A
Flowers had a very impressive afternoon for the Ravens as they dismantled the Denver Broncos 41-10. Flowers caught five receptions for 127 yards and scored two touchdowns. Flowers has truly shined in offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s offense as the Ravens continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC North.
Buffalo Bills: Khalil Shakir: C-
Shakir had an okay game for the Bills, as they secured a very close 30-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Shakir caught six receptions for 50 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. As one of the team’s wide receivers, Shakir continues to be a reliable passing option for Josh Allen, even though rookie running back Ray Davis led the team in receiving yards with 70 yards and scored a touchdown as a result. Shakir and the Bills have their sights set on week 10 when they face the Indianapolis Colts on the road.
Carolina Panthers: Ja’Tavion Sanders: B-
Sanders had a nice afternoon for the Panthers in their 23-22 win over the New Orleans Saints. Sanders caught four receptions for 87 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. Sanders’ teammate, Xavier Legette, scored a touchdown in the victory. Sanders and the Panthers need to build upon this win as they travel abroad for a week 10 showdown against the New York Giants in Munich, Germany.
Chicago Bears: Rome Odunze: B
Even though the Bears had an awful afternoon in their 9-29 loss against the Arizona Cardinals in the desert, Odunze had a good performance. Odunze caught five receptions for 104 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. The Bears imploding for the majority of the game hurts, but Odunze did what he could to give the team a spark of life.
Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase: C-
Chase had a decent game in the Bengals’ 41-24 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders at home. Chase caught seven receptions for 43 yards on the day but didn’t score any touchdowns on the day. It would’ve been nice to see Chase score a touchdown, but it sadly didn’t happen. Chase and the Bengals now have to prepare for their week 10 divisional match-up against the Baltimore Ravens on the road in prime time.
Cleveland Browns: Cedric Tillman: B+
Tillman was one of the few bright spots for the Browns, as they were humiliated at home 10-27. Tillman caught six receptions for 75 yards and scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Despite everything Tillman did, his efforts weren’t enough as the Browns fell to 2-7. Luckily for Tillman and the rest of the team’s wide receivers, they enter a bye week for week 10, as it’ll allow the team to regroup and get refreshed for their week 11 showdown against the New Orleans Saints on the road.
Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb: D+
Lamb had a somewhat rough afternoon as the Cowboys lost a tough 21-27 battle against the Atlanta Falcons. Lamb caught eight receptions for 47 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. As the Cowboys’ struggles continue, as well as the injuries continue to pile up. Dak Prescott left the game with a hamstring injury. Lamb, one of the league’s star wide receivers, is going to have to continue to develop cohesive on-field chemistry with Cooper Rush if Prescott is out long-term.
Denver Broncos: Courtland Sutton: A-
Even though the Broncos lost 10-41, Sutton shined for his team. Sutton caught seven receptions for 122 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Bo Nix in the second quarter. An amazing trick play by Sutton was sadly wasted away as the rest of the team fell apart against the Ravens for the majority of the game.
Detroit Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown: B+
Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Lions conquered the elements, as they earned a nice 24-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers in the rain. St. Brown caught seven receptions for 56 yards and scored a touchdown. St. Brown and the Lions showed the NFL they are weather-tested and can handle the elements very nicely, even though they play their home games in a domed stadium. St. Brown and the Lions continue their road trip to the Lone Star state for a week 10 Sunday Night Football showdown against the Houston Texans.
Green Bay Packers: Jayden Reed: A-
Reed had a very nice afternoon for the Packers, statistically, but the rest of the team fell flat in their 14-24 loss against the Detroit Lions. Reed caught five receptions for 113 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. Reed and company need to rebound from this loss after their week 10 bye week when they return to action in week 11 and square off against the Chicago Bears in the Windy City.
Houston Texans: Tank Dell: A-
Dell had a nice night for the Texans despite the team losing 13-21 against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Dell caught six receptions for 126 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. It would’ve been very nice for one of NFL’s surprising wide receivers if he scored a touchdown, but C.J. Stroud had a tough night on the ground, as the Jets’ defense made things very difficult for him.
Indianapolis Colts: Josh Downs: C-
Downs had a decent night for the Colts, statistically, but the team lost a tough 13-21 Sunday night battle against the Minnesota Vikings. Downs caught six receptions for 60 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. Downs and company need to step it up offensively, especially when they return home and host the Buffalo Bills in week 10.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Parker Washington: D-
Washington and the Jaguars had a rough afternoon in their 23-28 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington caught three receptions for 41 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. Washington and the Jaguars have a lot of catching up to do if the team wants to stay relevant in the AFC South. Losing in week nine didn’t help matters, as the Jaguars face another tough test at home when they welcome the Minnesota Vikings to town in week 10.
Kansas City Chiefs: DeAndre Hopkins: A-
Hopkins came to life and shined for the Chiefs in their 30-24 overtime victory on Monday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hopkins caught eight receptions for 86 yards and scored two touchdowns. A magnificent night for Hopkins, who finally has an elite quarterback throwing him the ball, after a very slow start with the Tennessee Titans. Hopkins has revitalized the Chiefs’ passing attack, and that should scare opposing defenses- moving forward.
Las Vegas Raiders: Jakobi Meyers: A-
Meyers had a nice afternoon for the Raiders, even though the team fell apart in their 24-41 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. Meyers caught eight receptions for 105 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. Meyers was a shining light on offense along with Brock Bowers, who scored a touchdown pass from Desmond Ridder, while the rest of the Raiders struggled offensively. The Raiders parted ways with offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello, and offensive line coach James Cregg after the game. Luckily for Meyers and the company, the team enters a week 10 bye week.
Los Angeles Chargers: Quentin Johnston: A-
After missing two games because of an ankle injury, Johnston returned to action as he helped the Chargers defeat the Cleveland Browns 27-10. Johnston caught four receptions for 118 yards, scored a 66-yard touchdown, and rushed for two yards on a carry. An impressive afternoon for Johnston, as Harbaugh’s coaching has drastically improved his performance so far this season. Johnston and the Bolts return home for week 10 when they welcome the Tennessee Titans to town.
Los Angeles Rams: Demarcus Robinson: A-
Robinson had a great afternoon for the Rams, as they defeated the Seattle Seahawks 26-20 in overtime. Robinson caught six receptions for 94 yards and scored two touchdowns (including the game-winning touchdown to end overtime). Robinson has become a very reliable and effective target for Matthew Stafford, while his teammate, Cooper Kupp, had 11 receptions for 104 yards in the game. Robinson and the Rams return home for week 10 and will host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
Miami Dolphins: Tyreek Hill: B-
Hill had a very nice afternoon for the Dolphins, even though they lost a tough 27-30 battle against the Buffalo Bills. Hill caught four receptions for 80 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. It would’ve been nice to see Hill score a touchdown for the Dolphins, but Hill will eventually score another touchdown as Tua Tagovailoa is back and helping the Dolphins’ offense return to form.
Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson: A-
Jefferson had a very impressive Sunday night in the Vikings’ passing attack, as they won 21-13 against the Indianapolis Colts. Jefferson caught seven receptions for 137 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. Despite not scoring a touchdown, Jefferson continues to show us why he’s one of the best wide receivers in the league, with his dominating performance in the passing attack.
New England Patriots: Kendrick Bourne: D
Bourne had an average afternoon, as the team fell to the Tennessee Titans 17-20 in overtime. Bourne caught four receptions for 41 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. It would’ve been nice to see Bourne score a touchdown against the Titans, but it ended up not happening, as Rhamondre Stevenson scored both of the team’s touchdowns throughout the game. The Patriots travel to the Windy City for a week 10 showdown against the Chicago Bears.
New Orleans Saints: Cedrick Wilson Jr.: D-
The Saints had a rough afternoon in the passing game, as Chris Olave left the game with a nasty concussion, while Cedrick Wilson Jr. had the most receiving yards for wide receivers on the team. Wilson Jr. caught two receptions for 34 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. The Saints’ offense was a mess outside of Alvin Kamara. Wilson Jr. needs to step up with Olave out for some time.
New York Giants: Malik Nabers: C-
Nabers had a decent game for the Giants, even though they lost to the Washington Commanders 22-27. Nabers caught nine receptions for 59 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. It would’ve been nice to see Nabers score a touchdown, but it didn’t happen. Nabers and the Giants have to get themselves prepared for week 10, when they’ll square off against the Carolina Panthers in Munich, Germany.
New York Jets: Garrett Wilson: A
Wilson had a very nice night for the Jets as they stunned the Houston Texans 21-13. Wilson caught nine receptions for 90 yards and scored two touchdowns. One of Wilson’s touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, where he looked like the iconic “Air Jordan” logo when scoring. The play looked like a catch out of bounds, as Ulbrich challenged the play and won, which helped Gang Green earn the upset win. Meanwhile, Wilson’s teammate, Davante Adams, scored his first touchdown as a Jet, and they are looking to help the team turn things around and build upon this win.
Philadelphia Eagles: DeVonta Smith: A-
Smith had a very nice game for the Eagles, as they defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-23. Smith caught four receptions for 87 yards and scored a 25-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Smith played nicely, but A.J. Brown had an injury scare in the game, as he left with a knee injury until an MRI revealed no structural damage. Smith and Brown return to action in week 10, when the Eagles travel to the Lone Star state for a divisional showdown against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Calvin Austin III: Bye Week
Austin III had a great week eight. However, Austin III got himself a new teammate, wide receiver Mike Williams, who was traded from the New York Jets to the Steelers.
San Francisco 49ers: Deebo Samuel: Bye Week
Samuel has had a good 2024 season so far. However, injuries have hurt his production. Regardless, Samuel is still one of the great wide receivers in the 49ers’ offensive lineup.
Seattle Seahawks: Jaxon Smith-Njigba: A
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had an amazing performance for the Seahawks, even though they lost a tough 20-26 battle against the Los Angeles Rams in overtime. Smith-Njigba caught seven receptions for 180 yards and scored two touchdowns. An amazing performance, which sadly is overshadowed by the Seahawks’ loss in overtime. Smith-Njigba and the Seahawks have a bye week for week 10 and will return to action in week 11 when they square off against the San Francisco 49ers on the road.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sterling Shepard: D+
Shepard had an okay night for the Buccaneers in their 24-30 overtime loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. Shepard caught four receptions for 48 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. The former New York Giant showed that he could not replicate the production of Mike Evans or Chris Godwin. He and the Bucs need to step it up in the passing attack as both Evans and Godwin recover from injuries.
Tennessee Titans: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: C+
Westbrook-Ikhine may not be a household name, but he is a reliable wideout who helped his Titans earn a nice 20-17 overtime win over the New England Patriots. Westbrook-Ikhine caught five receptions for 50 yards and scored a touchdown. A decent afternoon for Westbrook-Ikhine, as the Titans needed another win in the 2024 season.
Washington Commanders: Noah Brown: C
Noah Brown had a nice afternoon for the Commanders as they secured a close yet impressive 27-22 victory over the New York Giants. Brown caught five receptions for 60 yards but didn’t score a touchdown all game. Brown helped the Commanders out in the passing attack while his teammate, Terry McLaurin, scored two touchdowns in the afternoon. Brown and the Commanders return home for week 10 and will welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to town.
