Week eight was an incredible week of football in the NFL, as we got to see some game-changing catches and touchdowns in a wild week.
Some wide receivers had a tough time on the NFL field as they either struggled or were bitten by the injury bug, which is a massive blow to their respective offenses moving forward. With week eight in the books, we can’t wait to see what week nine gives us.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ wide receivers after week eight.
Who are the top wide receivers in the NFL after week 8?
Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr.: A
Harrison Jr. had an impressive afternoon as he and the Cardinals defeated the Miami Dolphins in South Beach 28-27. Harrison Jr. caught six receptions for 111 yards and scored a 22-yard touchdown with two minutes and eight seconds left in the third quarter. A very nice performance by Harrison Jr. as he and the Redbirds also snagged first place in the NFC West… for now.
Atlanta Falcons: Darnell Mooney: A-
Mooney had a nice game for the Falcons, defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-26. Mooney caught five receptions for 92 yards and scored a touchdown. Mooney had a wonderful afternoon in the Falcons’ passing attack, while tight end Kyle Pitts caught four receptions for 91 yards and scored two touchdowns. On top of that, Mooney and Cousins have worked very well as a quarterback and wide receiver duo, which has helped the Falcons maintain control of the NFC South for now.

Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers: A-
Flowers had a very nice afternoon for the Ravens despite the team getting stunned 24-29 on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Flowers caught seven receptions for 115 yards but didn’t score a touchdown, even though Jackson targeted Flowers twice in the end zone, as time was ticking down, at the very end of the fourth quarter. Flowers played very nicely statistically, but it would’ve been even better to see Flowers haul in a touchdown or two.
Buffalo Bills: Keon Coleman: B+
Coleman had a great game for the Bills on the road in the team’s 31-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Coleman caught five receptions for 70 yards and scored a touchdown in the first quarter. When Coleman scored his touchdown, he had a great one-handed catch over Riq Woolen, as he continues to have a great rookie season for the Bills.
Carolina Panthers: Jalen Coker: B+
Coker had a very nice afternoon for the Panthers, even though they were defeated by the Denver Broncos 14-28 on the road. Coker caught four receptions for 78 yards and scored a touchdown. Coker’s nice game is a bright spot for the struggling and rebuilding Panthers despite the team’s current record. Hopefully, Coker continues to have good games as he holds up a flickering flame for the Panthers.
Chicago Bears: Rome Odunze: D+
Odunze had a decent afternoon, which could’ve been better, as the Bears lost 15-18 against the Washington Commanders in walk-off fashion. Odunze caught three receptions for 41 yards in the late afternoon. Odunze and the Bears need to step it up, as their competition is getting much tougher. They need to get ready for week nine when the Bears travel to the desert and square off against the Arizona Cardinals.
Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase: B
Chase and the Bengals started the game strong, as Joe Burrow threw him the first touchdown of the game, but it wasn’t enough, as the Bengals lost a tough and painful 17-37 battle against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chase caught nine receptions for 54 yards and scored a touchdown. Chase’s efforts weren’t enough, as the Eagles’ defense swarmed the Bengals for the majority of the game and kept the Bengals out of the end zone throughout the fourth quarter.

Cleveland Browns: Cedric Tillman: A
No more Amari Cooper, no problem. Cedric Tillman stepped up and had a wonderful afternoon in the Browns’ 29-24 upset win over the Baltimore Ravens. Tillman caught seven receptions for 99 yards and scored two touchdowns in the afternoon. An excellent day for Tillman and the Browns’ offense, as Jameis Winston looks to lead the team to potentially more victories moving forward.
Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb: A
Even though the Cowboys have been struggling, CeeDee Lamb continues to be the shining star for the team, even though they lost 24-30 against the San Francisco 49ers on the road. Lamb caught 13 receptions for 146 yards and scored two touchdowns on the night. Lamb’s performance was incredible and was unfortunately overshadowed by the Cowboys’ struggles… so far this season.
Denver Broncos: Courtland Sutton: B
Sutton had a very nice bounce-back game for the Broncos as they defeated the Carolina Panthers 28-14. Sutton caught eight receptions for 100 yards and threw a pass to Michael Burton, who turned that into a 28-yard reception in the fourth quarter. It would’ve been nice to see Sutton score a touchdown in the victory, but he will certainly score more touchdowns as the season continues.
Detroit Lions: Kalif Raymond: B+
Kalif Raymond had a very special afternoon as he and the Detroit Lions decimated the Tennessee Titans 52-14. Raymond caught two receptions for 14 yards, scored a touchdown, returned five punts for 190 yards, and scored a 90-yard punt return touchdown in the early bit of the second half. Raymond looked incredible, as he truly shined on special teams and made the Titans’ punt team look remarkably outplayed for the majority of the game.
Green Bay Packers: Rome Doubs: C
Doubs had a decent afternoon, as he and the Packers earned a nice 30-27 last-second victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Doubs caught three receptions for 72 yards but didn’t score a touchdown all game. Doubs’ teammate, Tucker Kraft, scored the team’s only receiving touchdown of the day, while Josh Jacobs scored two rushing touchdowns. Doubs will score another touchdown, whether it’s Jordan Love or Malik Willis throwing him the ball, as Love recovers from his groin injury.
Houston Texans: Stefon Diggs: B-
Diggs had a decent afternoon in the Texans’ 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Diggs caught five receptions for 81 yards and rushed for negative four yards on a carry. However, Diggs suffered a non-contact knee injury, which was revealed to be an ACL tear, ending his season prematurely. Losing Diggs, at this time of the season, is a massive blow to the Texans as they still don’t have Nico Collins back from his hamstring injury. The rest of this NFL team’s wide receivers’ depth needs to step up as they get prepared for their week nine match-up against the New York Jets on the road.
Indianapolis Colts: Josh Downs: A
Even though Anthony Richardson, along with Michael Pittman Jr., didn’t play their best game, Josh Downs stepped up and kept the Colts’ offense afloat in their 20-23 loss against the Houston Texans. Downs caught four receptions for 109 yards and was not guarded by the Texans’ defense when he scored a 69-yard touchdown before the end of the first quarter. Downs looked incredible throughout. The Colts have another tough road test ahead of them when they travel due north for a week nine match-up against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr.: C+
Thomas Jr. had a decent game for the Jaguars despite the team losing 27-30 in last-second fashion against the Green Bay Packers. Thomas Jr. caught three receptions for 60 yards and scored a touchdown but left the game with a chest injury, while fellow wide receiver Christian Kirk suffered a season-ending broken collarbone. If Thomas Jr. is out long-term, the other wide receivers on this NFL team’s depth chart need to step up in his absence.
Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Worthy: C+
Worthy had a good afternoon for the Chiefs, as they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 27-20 in Sin City. Worthy caught four receptions for 37 yards and scored a touchdown. Worthy continues to have a good rookie season and continues to shine in the Chiefs’ passing attack.
Las Vegas Raiders: Jakobi Meyers: C+
Even though the Raiders struggled in certain parts of their 20-27 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, Jakobi Meyers had a good afternoon for the Silver and Black in the passing attack. Meyers caught six receptions for 52 yards and scored a touchdown. With Davante Adams long gone, Meyers and the rest of the Raiders’ receiving depth need to continue stepping up as the Silver and Black try to turn things around in their struggling season.
Los Angeles Chargers: Ladd McConkey: A
McConkey had an amazing afternoon in the Chargers’ 26-8 dominating win over the New Orleans Saints. McConkey caught six receptions for 111 yards and scored two touchdowns. McConkey has quickly become one of Justin Herbert’s favorite targets and is making a case for a potential Offensive Rookie of the Year nominee if he keeps performing like he did in week eight.
Los Angeles Rams: Puka Nacua: B+
Welcome back Puka Nacua. Nacua had a very nice Thursday night for the Rams, as they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 30-20. Nacua caught seven receptions for 106 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. His teammate Cooper Kupp, who also returned from injury, scored a touchdown, and Demarcus Robinson scored two touchdowns. The Rams having both Nacua and Kupp back is a huge deal for the team, which has been dealing with injuries so far this season. Nacua and the Rams hit the road this week as they get set to square off against the Seattle Seahawks.
Miami Dolphins: Tyreek Hill: C
Hill had a good afternoon statistically, even though the Dolphins lost 27-28 in last-second fashion against the Arizona Cardinals. Hill caught six receptions for 72 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. Attributing to Hill’s good performance was Tua Tagovailoa’s return to action from a brutal concussion he suffered during the loss to the Buffalo Bills in week two. Hill and company need to keep their offensive momentum going as they travel up north to Western New York for a week nine divisional rematch against the Bills.
Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson: B+
Jefferson had a very nice performance, even though the Vikings may have lost a very controversial 20-30 Thursday Night game against the Los Angeles Rams. Jefferson caught eight receptions for 115 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. Jefferson’s teammates, Josh Oliver and Trent Sherfield Sr., both scored touchdowns. Regardless of the loss, Jefferson had a very nice game statistically, as he and the Vikings return home and get prepared for their week nine match-up against the Indianapolis Colts.
New England Patriots: Kayshon Boutte: D
Boutte had an average game for the Patriots, as they stunned the New York Jets 25-22. Boutte caught three receptions for 46 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. It was a rough day for the Patriots’ passing attack, as no one was able to top 50 plus receiving yards all game long. Even though the Patriots earned the win, Boutte and the team have to make significant improvements in the passing attack as they get prepared for their week nine road match-up against the Tennessee Titans.
New Orleans Saints: Chris Olave: B
The Saints may have lost 8-26, in humiliating fashion, against the Los Angeles Chargers, even though Chris Olave had a nice day in the passing attack. Olave caught eight receptions for 107 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. Olave may have performed well, but his performance isn’t enough to help the Saints right the ship as their season continues to sink further downwards.
New York Giants: Darius Slayton: A-
Slayton had a nice night in the Giants’ passing attack, even though they lost a tough 18-26 Monday night battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Slayton caught four receptions for 108 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. It would’ve been very nice to see Slayton score a touchdown in the game. Additionally, the Giants’ offensive struggles continued to hinder their chances of crossing the goal line.
New York Jets: Garrett Wilson: A-
Despite the Jets losing a painful 22-25 battle against the New England Patriots, Garrett Wilson had a nice afternoon statistically. Wilson caught five receptions for 113 yards but was kept out of the end zone all game long. It would’ve been nice to see Wilson or Davante Adams score touchdowns, but it wasn’t the case, as the Jets couldn’t get the win and had to return home for a Halloween showdown against the Houston Texans to open up week nine.
Philadelphia Eagles: DeVonta Smith: A-
Smith had a very nice game for the Eagles, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 37-17. Smith caught six receptions for 85 yards and scored a 45-yard touchdown in the third quarter of the game. Smith played exceptionally well, along with A.J. Brown, who caught five receptions for 84 yards. The Eagles outplayed and outscored the Bengals for the majority of the game.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Calvin Austin III: B+
Austin III emerged for the Steelers on Monday night, as they defeated the woeful New York Giants 26-18. Austin III caught three receptions for 54 yards, scored a touchdown, and scored a touchdown on a 73-yard punt return as he shined on special teams. Austin III had a great night for the Steelers as a punt returner and a pass catcher, as they continue to strike fear against opposing defenses.
San Francisco 49ers: Deebo Samuel: C
Samuel had a nice night for the 49ers as they secured a nice 30-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Samuel caught four receptions for 71 yards and rushed for 15 yards on four carries. Unfortunately, Samuel left the game with a rib injury, which is a massive blow to the 49ers, who have lost Brandon Aiyuk for the season with an ACL injury, as well as Christian McCaffrey and Jauan Jennings on injured reserve. Luckily for Samuel and the 49ers, the team enters a bye week in week nine, giving everyone some rest and the potential to recover from injuries.
Seattle Seahawks: Jaxon Smith-Njigba: C
Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a decent afternoon for the Seahawks, even though they lost a painful 10-31 battle against the Buffalo Bills. Smith-Njigba caught six receptions for 69 yards on the day but didn’t score a touchdown. A decent performance from their wide receivers was overshadowed by a painful loss as the rest of this NFL squad struggled against the Bills’ defense.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Rakim Jarrett: C
Rakim Jarrett stepped up and had a decent afternoon, as both Chris Godwin and Mike Evans were out with injuries, with Godwin out for the rest of the 2024 season. Jarrett caught three receptions for 58 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. Jarrett still has some work to do. He has to step up in the Bucs’ passing attack and fill the shoes left behind by Evans and Godwin.
Tennessee Titans: Calvin Ridley: A-
Despite the Titans getting dropped 14-52, Calvin Ridley had a nice afternoon statistically. Ridley caught 10 receptions for 143 yards but didn’t score a single touchdown. Even with Ridley having 143 receiving yards, the rest of the Titans’ offense was a complete disaster, as they fell flat against the Lions’ defense for the majority of the game.
Washington Commanders: Noah Brown: A-
Brown had a very nice afternoon for the Commanders in their 18-15 walk-off win against the Chicago Bears. Brown caught three receptions for 73 yards and scored the game-winning Hail Mary touchdown from Jayden Daniels, making him a hero in the nation’s capital. Brown’s catch in the end zone has elevated his status as another great passing target for Daniels. The Commanders continue their incredible 2024 NFL season, and they’ll have their wide receivers to thank for that.
