Week five saw exciting wide receiver performances as the NFL’s top wideouts performed above expectations, leaving fans wanting more.
However, some wideouts took a massive step back, struggled on the field, and needed to turn things around when week six began.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ wide receivers after week five.
Who are the top wide receivers in the NFL after week 5 of games?
Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr.: D
Harrison Jr. had a somewhat quiet afternoon, even with the Cardinals defeating the San Francisco 49ers in a stunning 24-23 comeback win. Harrison Jr. caught two receptions for 36 yards on the day. However, Harrison Jr. did set up a Cardinals’ scoring drive when he caught a 14-yard reception on fourth down when the Red Birds were down 23-21. Hopefully, Harrison Jr. will bounce back in week six.
Atlanta Falcons: Drake London: A-
London had a phenomenal game as he and the Falcons defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a thrilling 36-30 overtime win. London caught 12 receptions for 154 yards and scored a touchdown. London’s teammates Darnell Mooney scored two touchdowns, and KhaDarel Hodge scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime. London truly shined as the Falcons’ number one wideout as he and his team look to continue their dominance of the NFC South.

Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers: B-
Zay Flowers had a very good afternoon in the Ravens’ 41-38 overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals despite not scoring a touchdown. Flowers caught seven receptions for 111 yards in the thriller. It would’ve been very nice to see Flowers score a touchdown in the victory, as offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s passing attack came to life after four weeks of the rushing attack being the main focus of the Ravens’ offense.
Buffalo Bills: Keon Coleman: C+
Coleman had a very nice play in the Bills’ 20-23 loss to the Houston Texans. Coleman caught a reception for 49 yards and scored a touchdown. The Bills were also without Khali Shakir, who is dealing with an ankle injury. We hope Shakir is back on the field soon. However, if Shakir misses more time, Coleman and the rest of the Bills’ receivers need to step up.
Carolina Panthers: Jalen Coker: C-
Jalen Coker had an all-right game even though the Panthers lost a painful 10-36 game against the Chicago Bears. Coker caught four receptions for 68 yards on the day. A decent day for Coker as Dionte Johnson and the rest of the Panthers’ passing attack had a rough, tough afternoon thanks to the Bears’ defense. Coker and the Panthers’ offense have a tough week six ahead of them when the Atlanta Falcons come to town.
Chicago Bears: DJ Moore: A
DJ Moore truly shined offensively as he and the Bears crushed the Carolina Panthers 36-10 at home. Moore caught five receptions for 105 yards and scored two touchdowns on the afternoon. A great showcasing from Moore as he and Caleb Williams are starting to click on the field offensively. We can’t wait to see more as the season continues.
Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase: A
Despite the Bengals dropping a very tough 38-41 overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Ja’Marr Chase played an incredible game on the field. Chase caught 10 receptions for 193 yards and scored two touchdowns in the game. Chase is a mainstay for the Bengals’ offense as they figure out how to turn things around and get out of their losing funk and back to their winning ways.
Cleveland Browns: Amari Cooper: C
Cooper had a good afternoon in the Browns’ passing attack despite the team losing 13-34 against the Washington Commanders. Cooper caught four receptions for 60 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. Cooper is a talented wide receiver, but there have been rumors of the NFL veteran wideout being on the trade block for teams who want his services as the Browns continue to struggle. However, Cooper played well for the Browns and is still on his team, for now.
Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Tolbert: B+
Tobert shined in the Cowboys very close 20-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tolbert caught seven receptions for 87 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown with seconds to go in the fourth quarter of the game. A great night for Tolbert, as he told reporters he worked very hard for his performance in primetime and plans to continue getting better.
Denver Broncos: Courtland Sutton: D
Sutton had a somewhat quiet afternoon even as the Broncos defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-18. Sutton caught two receptions for 32 yards on the day. Things were rough for Sutton as he was held without a single catch in the first half of the game. Hopefully, Sutton will bounce back in week six.
Detroit Lions: Jameson Williams: Bye Week
Williams had a very nice game in week four as the Lions get prepared to return to action in week six.
Green Bay Packers: Jayden Reed: B-
Jayden Reed had a nice afternoon for the Packers in their 24-19 victory against the Los Angeles Rams. Reed caught four receptions for 78 yards and rushed for 19 yards on two carries. Reed also made history by becoming the sixth player in NFL history with over 400 receiving yards and 100 rushing yards in the first five games of a season while being the first true wide receiver to accomplish this feat and the first guy to do it since Roger Craig pulled off in 1985. Not bad company to be in, Mr. Reed!
Houston Texans: Nico Collins: B
Collins had a great game in the Texans’ 23-20 win but left the game with a hamstring injury. Before Collins exited the field, he caught two receptions for 78 yards and scored a touchdown. Collins has been having a very good 2024 season, and this hamstring injury is, unfortunately, a small bump in the road. Hopefully, Collins will recover well and come back stronger than ever.
Indianapolis Colts: Alec Pierce: A
Pierce had an excellent day on offense, even though the Colts lost a very close 34-37 battle to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Pierce caught three receptions for 134 yards and scored a touchdown. A great performance from Pierce, who is starting to emerge as a great wideout for Joe Flacco or Anthony Richardson (when he recovers from his hip injury) to throw the ball to.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr.: A
Thomas Jr. had a very great performance in the Jaguars’ 37-34 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Thomas Jr. caught five receptions for 122 yards and scored a touchdown in the Jaguars’ upset victory over their AFC South divisional rivals. Thomas Jr. is having a very good rookie season, similar to his former Louisiana State University teammate, Malik Nabers, and is a bright spot on the Jaguars’ offense, comparable to Nabers on offense for the Giants.
Kansas City Chiefs: Juju Smith-Schuster: B
Even though the Chiefs have had their problem at wide receiver for the majority of the NFL season so far, Juju Smith-Schuster stepped up and had a very good night in the passing attack in their 26-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Smith-Schuster caught seven receptions for 130 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. Regardless, Smith-Schuster stepped up to the plate and helped lead the Chiefs to victory.
Las Vegas Raiders: Jakobi Meyers: C
Meyers had a decent afternoon for the Raiders, but his efforts weren’t enough in the Raiders’ 18-34 loss against the Denver Broncos. Meyers caught six receptions for 72 yards on the day. With Davante Adams wanting to be traded out of Sin City, Meyers is going to have to step up when it matters for the Raiders moving forward.
Los Angeles Chargers: Ladd McConkey: Bye Week
McConkey and the Chargers need to step it up when they return to action in week six.
Los Angeles Rams: Jordan Whittington: B-
Whittington had a good afternoon for the Rams despite their injury woes and their week five 19-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Whittington caught seven receptions for 89 yards on the day. Whittington did a very good job for the Rams. Despite the loss, the team should consider making Whittington a starter for the remainder of the season as both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp recover from their injuries.
Miami Dolphins: Tyreek Hill: C
Hill had a decent afternoon as they and the Dolphins won a very ugly 15-10 game against the New England Patriots. Hill caught six receptions for 69 yards in the game. Hill and Huntley are slowly starting to form their on-field chemistry after three straight slow starts to the 2024 season. Hill and company luckily head into a bye week for week six, so the team can rest and regroup for week seven.
Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson: B+
Jefferson had a great afternoon abroad, in London, as the Vikings defeated the New York Jets 23-17. Jefferson caught six receptions for 92 yards on the day but didn’t score a touchdown. Jefferson played very well, even though it would’ve been nice to see him enter the end zone during the team’s time abroad in London.
New England Patriots: DeMario Douglas: D
A rough afternoon for DeMario Douglas and the Patriots’ offense as they lost a tough 10-15 divisional battle against the Miami Dolphins. Douglas caught six receptions for 59 yards on the day but hasn’t scored a touchdown all game. A very tough day for Douglas and the Patriots, as Douglas has yet to score his first touchdown in the league.
New Orleans Saints: Rashid Shaheed: B+
Despite the Saints dropping a painful 13-26 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on primetime, Rashid Shaheed had a great game. Shaheed caught four receptions for 86 yards and scored a touchdown on the night. Shaheed played very well, even though Derek Carr went down with an oblique injury that might have hurt Shaheed’s production. Hopefully, Jake Haener and Shaheed will form good on-field chemistry moving forward.
New York Giants: Darius Slayton: A
No Malik Nabers, no problem because Darius Slayton stepped up to the plate and had a very productive afternoon in the Giants’ 29-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Slayton caught eight receptions for 122 yards and scored a touchdown. A great night for the fifth-year veteran as he helped the G-Men with their passing attack while Nabers recovered from his concussion.
New York Jets: Garrett Wilson: A-
Despite the Jets’ offense struggling in the first half and losing against the Minnesota Vikings 17-23, Garrett Wilson played a very strong game for the team and gave the team hope in the passing attack. Wilson caught 13 receptions for 101 yards and scored a touchdown abroad. Wilson needs to have more games like this, as he’s been quiet for the majority of the season so far. If he and Rodgers connect and form a strong on-field chemistry, they can potentially be a strong offensive duo against opposing defenses.
Philadelphia Eagles: A.J. Brown: Bye Week
The Eagles had some wide receiver troubles in week four. Luckily, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are expected to return to action in week six.
Pittsburgh Steelers: George Pickens: F
Pickens and the Steelers’ passing game had a very brutal Sunday night as they were defeated by the Dallas Cowboys 17-20. Pickens caught three receptions for 26 yards. Pickens also went viral for taking his frustrations out on Cowboys’ cornerback Jourdan Lewis by grabbing his facemask and throwing him to the ground at the end of the game. Not a good look, Mr. Pickens.
San Francisco 49ers: Brandon Aiyuk: B
Despite losing 23-24 to the Arizona Cardinals after having a 23-10 lead at halftime, Brandon Aiyuk had a nice afternoon for the 49ers. Aiyuk caught eight receptions for 147 yards on the day. It would’ve been nice to see Aiyuk score a touchdown in the game, but Brock Purdy struggled in the second half. Hopefully, Aiyuk will score that elusive first touchdown of the 2024 season soon.
Seattle Seahawks: Tyler Lockett: C
Tyler Lockett had a good afternoon for the Seahawks despite the team losing 20-29. Lockett caught four receptions for 75 yards on the day. It would’ve been nice to see Lockett a touchdown, but he did what he could on the field against the Giants’ defense.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Mike Evans: B+
Even though the Buccaneers fell in a very thrilling 30-26 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Evans caught five receptions for 62 yards and scored two touchdowns on the night. Evans is still a very elite NFL wide receiver and an excellent leader on the Bucs’ offense. Evans and the Bucs will rebound from this loss as the team continues their road trip for their week six matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
Tennessee Titans: DeAndre Hopkins: Bye Week
Hopkins has had a very down season with the Titans so far. He and the Titans need to turn things around quickly in week six.
Washington Commanders: Terry McLaurin: B
McLaurin had a solid afternoon as he and the Commanders defeated the Cleveland Browns 34-13. McLaurin caught four receptions for 112 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. It would’ve been very nice to see McLaurin score a touchdown, even though Dymai Brown scored a 41-yard touchdown against the Browns before halftime. McLaurin will score more touchdowns, eventually, as the Commanders get prepared for an intense road trip against the Baltimore Ravens come week six.
