Week two saw some very talented wide receivers take off and lead their teams to victory at the start of an exciting 2024 season. Other receivers had some very nice bounce-back games, regardless of the outcome. However, some receivers took a step back and struggled tremendously. They needed to go back to practice, watch films, and learn from their mistakes to have a stronger week three.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ starting wide receivers after week two.
Arizona Cardinals: Marvin Harrison Jr.: A+
After a very quiet week one, Marvin Harrison Jr. finally had an amazing game in the Cardinals’ 41-10 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Harrison Jr. caught four receptions for 130 yards and scored two touchdowns on the day, looking like one of the most promising young wide receivers in the game. Harrison Jr. and Kyler Murray are shaping up to have excellent on-field chemistry.
Atlanta Falcons: Darnell Mooney: A-
Mooney and the Falcons had a very nice night as they stunned the Philadelphia Eagles 22-21. Mooney caught three receptions for 88 yards and scored a touchdown. However, Drake London saved the Falcons, as he caught the game-winning touchdown with 34 seconds left on the clock. Despite that, Mooney had a great game, and it looks like he will have a great season with Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball.
Baltimore Ravens: Zay Flowers: B

Flowers had a very good afternoon despite the Ravens losing 23-26 to the Las Vegas Raiders. Flowers caught seven receptions for 91 yards and scored a touchdown. Despite the loss, Flowers performed well and should produce more in the coming weeks.
Buffalo Bills: Khalil Shakir: C+
Despite not scoring a touchdown, Shakir had a good night in the Bills 31-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Shakir led the Bills passing attack with five receptions for 54 yards. Despite the lack of ultra-talented receivers on the Bills, Shakir is putting a lot of effort into the Bills’ passing attack.
Carolina Panthers: Adam Thielen: F
It was a brutal afternoon for Thielen and the Panthers’ wide receivers, as they were crushed by the Los Angeles Chargers 3-26. Thielen caught two receptions for 20 yards on the day. It’s a shame to see Thielen struggle and be ineffective in the Panthers’ offense. Thielen told reporters that the Panthers’ recent struggles were an offensive team issue. Hopefully, Dalton will help Thielen and the Panthers have productive weeks ahead of them.
Chicago Bears: DJ Moore: C-
Despite a horrific Sunday night for Caleb Williams and the Bears, DJ Moore had a decent night in the 13-19 loss to the Houston Texans. Moore caught six receptions for 53 yards. Despite Moore’s decent game, the Bears have a lot of improvements to make if they want to return to the win column.
Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase: D
Chase had a very rough game in the Bengals 25-26 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Chase caught four receptions for 35 yards. One of the other things that hampered Chase’s game was an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for yelling at a ref because he thought Trent McDuffie tackled him with a hip-drop tackle. When Joe Burrow has to hold Chase back from a ref, you know it won’t be pleasant. Hopefully, Chase bounces back in the Bengals’ week three game.

Cleveland Browns: Jerry Jeudy: C
Even though the Browns didn’t play their best football in their week two 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jerry Jeudy had a decent game. Jeudy caught five receptions for 73 yards on the day. So far, Jeudy has played well in his first two games with the Browns. We’re just waiting for the day he scores his first touchdown as a Brown.
Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb: B
Even though the Cowboys got crushed 19-44 at home against the New Orleans Saints, CeeDee Lamb remained a bright spot for the team. Lamb caught four receptions for 90 yards and scored the team’s only touchdown on the afternoon. Lamb is talented and one of the best wide receivers for the Cowboys, despite the horrific showcasing at home. Lamb will continue to produce and will potentially earn another Pro Bowl nod by the end of the season.
Denver Broncos: Josh Reynolds: C
Josh Reynolds had a somewhat productive afternoon despite the Broncos being humiliated by the Pittsburgh Steelers in their 6-13 loss. Reynolds caught four receptions for 93 yards on the day. The Broncos need to step it up on offense, as Reynolds is a lone bright spot on this team, so far this season.
Detroit Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown: B
Amon-Ra St. Brown played very nicely despite the Lions losing 16-20 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. St. Brown caught 11 receptions for 119 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. St. Brown’s reliability was on display in a bounce-back performance after a quiet week one. However, St. Brown exited the game with an injury scare but rallied and was able to come back in to play hard.
Green Bay Packers: Romeo Doubs: C+
Romeo Doubs played a decent game in the Packers’ 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Doubs caught three receptions for 62 yards on the day but didn’t score any touchdowns. Doubs’ teammate Dontayvion Wicks scored a touchdown in the first quarter. It would’ve been great to see Doubs score a touchdown of his own in the game. However, similar to Josh Jacobs, when Doubs scores that elusive touchdown, it’s going to be well deserved.
Houston Texans: Nico Collins: A-
Nico Collins had an excellent game as the Texans defeated the Chicago Bears 19-13. Collins caught eight receptions for 135 yards and scored a touchdown. Collins had a great night statistically, and he should continue to produce on the field as he looks to potentially have his second straight 1,000-yard season.
Indianapolis Colts: Alec Pierce: C+
Alec Pierce played a good game and helped the Colts attempt a come-from-behind victory despite the team losing 10-16 to the Green Bay Packers. Pierce caught five receptions for 56 yards and scored the Colts’ only touchdown of the day. Pierce is still a great number-two receiver on the team, yet he can show up and play some solid football, no matter the outcome.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr.: C+
Thomas Jr. had a decent day on the field even though the rest of the Jaguars struggled in their 13-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Thomas Jr. caught two receptions for 94 yards on the day. Thomas Jr. will hopefully be a bright spot on this Jaguars team moving forward as one of their wide receivers, even though he didn’t score a touchdown all game.
Kansas City Chiefs: Rashee Rice: B-
Rice had himself a nice game in the Chiefs’ very close and intense 26-25 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Rice caught five receptions for 75 yards and scored a touchdown. So far, Rice is looking to have another very productive season with the Chiefs as they continue their quest for another potential Super Bowl championship.
Las Vegas Raiders: Davante Adams: A
Davante Adams went off as he and the Raiders stunned the Baltimore Ravens 26-23. Adams caught nine receptions for 110 yards and scored a touchdown, which was the Raiders’ X-factor. No matter who the quarterback is for the Raiders (in this case, Gardner Minshew), Adams will always be ready to have a very productive game.
Los Angeles Chargers: Quentin Johnston: C
After a very lackluster 2023 season, Johnston finally stepped up in the second week of the 2024 season as the Chargers defeated the Carolina Panthers 26-3. Johnston caught five receptions for 51 yards and scored two touchdowns in the game. If Johnston continues to improve each week, thank head coach Jim Harbaugh, offensive coordinator Greg Roman, and wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal for their contributions as well.
Los Angeles Rams: Demarcus Robinson: C-
As the Rams were crushed 10-41 by the Arizona Cardinals, Demarcus Robinson is going to have to step it up as Cooper Kupp went down with an ankle injury and will miss some very serious time. Robinson caught two receptions for 50 yards in the loss. It is very disappointing losing Kupp. However, Robinson should be ready for the challenge as he’s a reliable veteran receiver who, in case you forgot, won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2019.
Miami Dolphins: Jaylen Waddle: C-
Despite the Dolphins’ brutal 10-31 Thursday night loss. Waddle played an alright game. Waddle caught four receptions for 41 yards on the night, while his teammate, running back De’Von Achane, caught seven for 69 yards and scored a receiving touchdown. It was an okay night for Waddle, but better than Tyreek Hill’s night, as he was held to three receptions for 24 yards.
Minnesota Vikings: Justin Jefferson: A-
Justin Jefferson showed why he’s one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in a dominating performance as the Vikings defeated the San Francisco 49ers 23-17. Jefferson caught four receptions for 133 yards and scored a 97-yard touchdown as icing on the cake. However, Jefferson suffered a quad injury, even though it was not serious. No matter who the Vikings have at quarterback, you can always count on Jefferson to have an incredible game.
New England Patriots: Ja’Lynn Polk: D
Polk scored the Patriots’ only receiving touchdown of the game as the rest of the team’s receiving core had a very afternoon game outside of tight end Hunter Henry. Polk caught two receptions for 12 yards and scored a receiving touchdown. The Patriots’ receivers were silenced by the Seahawks’ defense, except for tight end Henry, who caught eight receptions for 109 yards. Offensive coordinator Allen Van Pelt expressed his optimism about the Patriots’ passing attack days before the game, but Van Pelt and the rest of the coaching staff need more offensive schemes to get receivers the ball.
New Orleans Saints: Rashid Shaheed: A-
Shaheed and the Saints truly marched to victory as they cruised past the Dallas Cowboys 44-19. Shaheed caught four receptions for 96 yards and scored a touchdown on the day. Shaheed and Derek Carr are truly forming great chemistry on the field and look to continue playing excellent football moving forward in this already wild 2024 season.
New York Giants: Malik Nabers: B
Despite the Giants losing to the Washington Commanders 18-21, Malik Nabers had a productive afternoon. Nabers caught 10 receptions for 127 yards and scored a touchdown. Nabers is currently showing us that he one of the most reliable wide receivers, even though it was painful to see the Giants lose to the Commanders via seven field goals.
New York Jets: Garrett Wilson: C+
Wilson may not have scored any touchdowns in the game, even though he and Aaron Rodgers are forming good chemistry on the field. Wilson caught four receptions for 57 yards and rushed for five yards on one carry. The longer Wilson and Rodgers are on the field together, the sooner Wilson will score his first touchdown pass from Rodgers as the Jets try to improve and return to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season.
Philadelphia Eagles: DeVonta Smith: A-
DeVonta Smith had a very good game, even though the Eagles lost 21-22 to the Atlanta Falcons. Smith caught seven receptions for 76 yards and scored a touchdown. Smith is going to have to step it up as A.J. Brown is recovering from an injured hamstring. However, Smith has the talent and speed to get the job done moving forward.
Pittsburgh Steelers: George Pickens: D
Not the best day for George Pickens and the rest of the Steelers’ wide receivers, as they had a pretty quiet afternoon in their 13-6 victory over the Denver Broncos. Pickens caught two receptions for 29 yards. The only Steeler to score a touchdown was Darnell Washington, who caught a reception for five yards and scored a touchdown. Pickens needs to play like it matters, as the competition will get more serious as the season continues.
San Francisco 49ers: Deebo Samuel: B-
The 49ers may have struggled in their 17-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, yet Deebo Samuel played a good game. Samuel caught eight receptions for 110 yards and returned one kick for 21 yards. It would’ve been awesome to see Samuel score a touchdown in the game, but his teammate George Kittle scored the 49ers’ only receiving touchdown on the afternoon. Unfortunately, Samuel suffered a calf injury and will be out for some time. Regardless, the 49ers will bounce back and earn more wins, as there’s plenty of football to go.
Seattle Seahawks: D.K. Metcalf: A-
D.K. Metcalf had a very strong performance as the Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 23-20 in overtime. Metcalf caught 10 receptions for 129 yards and scored a touchdown. Metcalf started to cook and will continue to run right past the competition for the Seahawks as the NFC West looks open for now.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Chris Godwin: B+
Godwin and the Bucs played a very tough and physical Detroit Lions team and came out with the 20-16 win. Godwin caught seven receptions for 117 yards and scored a touchdown. It was a great afternoon for one of the most notable wide receivers in the NFL, as he continues to be one of the most reliable number two options on an NFL roster. If Godwin continues to produce strong statistics on the field, he will very likely have his fourth straight 1,000-receiving-yard season.
Tennessee Titans: Calvin Ridley: B
Ridley had a good game despite the Titans getting dropped 17-24 against the New York Jets. Ridley caught four receptions for 77 yards, scored a touchdown, rushed for 10 yards on one carry, and scored a rushing touchdown on the afternoon. Similar to Tony Pollard, Ridley has shined in the Titans’ offense and has become the new number-one wideout in the Music City compared to Deandre Hopkins, who only had one catch for nine yards all game.
Washington Commanders: Noah Brown: D+
Even though the Commanders defeated the New York Giants 21-18 via seven field goals, Noah Brown had an average day on the field. Brown caught three receptions for 56 yards on the afternoon. As the season progresses, Brown can potentially become a reliable target for Jayden Daniels moving forward, depending on how the rest of the season turns out.
