Week seven saw some intense quarterback competition as the 2024 NFL season continues to roll on through. Some starting quarterbacks unraveled under pressure, as their NFL teams couldn’t get the job done, while other quarterbacks leaped into action and earned some very impressive wins, whether at home or out on the road.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ starting quarterbacks after week seven.
Which NFL starting quarterbacks have the highest grades after week 7 of games?
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray: C+
Murray and the Cardinals played a decent battle against the Los Angeles Chargers as they came out on top 17-15. Murray completed 14 passes for 145 yards, threw a touchdown to Greg Dortch against an interception, rushed for 64 yards on six carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. A decent night for Murray as he and the Redbirds travel east to South Beach for a week eight matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins: D+
Kirk Cousins had a tough afternoon at home as the Falcons were defeated 14-34 by the Seattle Seahawks. Cousins completed 24 passes for 232 yards, threw a touchdown to Drake London against two costly interceptions, and rushed for negative one yard on one carry but was sacked three times and lost a fumble. A painful loss with an ugly performance stings, but Cousins and company will have to reset quickly as they travel south for a divisional rematch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week eight.
Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A

Lamar Jackson looked incredible as he and the Ravens defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-31 on the road. Jackson completed 17 passes for 281 yards, threw five touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for 52 yards on nine carries but was sacked twice. Jackson looked elite and electric as he looked like he could potentially win the 2024-25 AP NFL MVP for a second straight season.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen: A-
Allen had a very nice afternoon in the Bills’ 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Allen completed 21 passes for 323 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for a yard on three carries but was sacked once. A great afternoon for Allen as he and the newly acquired Amari Cooper look to form a great quarterback and wide receiver connection as the season progresses.
Carolina Panthers: Andy Dalton: F
Andy Dalton had a very rough afternoon as the Panthers were dismantled 7-40 against the Washington Commanders. Dalton completed 11 passes for 93 yards, threw two interceptions against no touchdowns, rushed for three yards on two carries, and was sacked twice. A very painful afternoon Dalton would like to forget about, as one of his interceptions led to a 67-yard pick-six by Dante Fowler Jr.
Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams: Bye Week
Williams is having a good rookie season so far. If he continues to play like he did in week six against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he can potentially be a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year. Williams and the Bears will be tested in week eight when they travel to the nation’s capital and square off against the Washington Commanders.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow: B+
Burrow had a very nice afternoon as the Bengals won 21-14 against the Cleveland Browns. Burrow completed 15 passes for 181 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for negative three yards on three carries but was sacked three times. Burrow and the Bengals continue building upon their win streak, and it pays off for them as they return home for a week-eight showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson: F
It was another ugly afternoon for starting NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Browns as they lost a tough 14-21 battle against the Cincinnati Bengals. Watson completed 15 passes for 128 yards, threw no touchdowns against interceptions, rushed for no yardage on two carries, and was sacked twice, but left the game with an Achilles injury a minute before halftime. Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over but threw two interceptions, and Jameis Winston came in and threw a touchdown pass to David Njoku.
With Watson out for the remainder of the season, it’s time for Winston or Thompson-Robinson to both step up and help the Browns rebound from their five-game losing streak. However, Thompson-Robinson left the game with a finger injury, leaving Winston as the lone healthy quarterback on the roster.
Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott: Bye Week
Prescott struggled at home in the Cowboys’ week six 9-47 loss against the Detroit Lions. However, he and the team need to put that loss in the rearview mirror and get prepared for their week eight matchup on the road against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
Denver Broncos: Bo Nix: C+
Nix had an average Thursday night as the Broncos defeated the New Orleans Saints 33-10 in the Superdome. Nix completed 16 passes for 164 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 75 yards on 10 carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. Nix may not be the best rookie starting quarterback in the NFL, but he knows how to run the ball, avoid getting sacked on the road, and has shown he’s a good offensive leader. Nix also set the record for most completions (137 completions) for a rookie quarterback in team history, surpassing John Elway’s 123 completions, which is a nice accomplishment to have.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: A-
Goff and the Lions played a very strong and competitive game, as they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-29. Goff completed 22 passes for 280 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for negative four yards on two carries but was sacked four times. Goff played very well and helped the Lions reclaim the NFC North crown while ending the Minnesota Vikings’ undefeated season in the process in a Sunday afternoon classic.
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love: C+
Love had a good game for the Packers, as they narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 24-22. The star NFL starting quarterback completed 24 passes for 220 yards, threw three touchdowns against two interceptions, and was sacked three times. It could’ve been worse for Love and the Packers, as the team was ultimately bailed out by Brandon McManus at the very end of the game.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: D
C.J. Stroud had a tough afternoon at Lambeau Field, as he and the Texans lost 22-24 to the Green Bay Packers. Stroud completed 10 passes for 86 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 19 yards on five carries, and was sacked four times. Despite the close game, Stroud and the Texans struggled to get the passing game going, while Joe Mixon had a productive day on the ground.
Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson: C
Richardson returned to action and helped the Colts to a decent 16-10 victory at home against the Miami Dolphins. Richardson completed 10 passes for 129 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 56 yards on 14 yards, and wasn’t sacked at all. Richardson still has some cobwebs to brush off as he and the Colts’ passing attack struggled against the Dolphins. However, he and the team earned the win and now have their sights set on week eight, when they travel south for a divisional rematch against the Houston Texans.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence: A-
Trevor Lawrence played a solid game as he led the Jaguars to a very nice 32-16 win over the New England Patriots. Lawrence completed 15 passes for 193 yards, threw a touchdown to Brian Thomas Jr. against no interceptions, rushed for 13 yards on two carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. If Lawrence continues to play as he did abroad, he can potentially help the Jaguars to a strong second-half push, depending on how everything plays out.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes: C-
Patrick Mahomes didn’t play his best game, even though the Chiefs won 28-12 against the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes completed 16 passes for 154 yards, threw two interceptions against no touchdowns, rushed for 39 yards on five carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked twice. Mahomes may have struggled at times against the 49ers, but he can still run and command a good offense while also having a strong defense that’ll continue to bail the Chiefs out of tough games.
Las Vegas Raiders: Gardner Minshew: F
As Aiden O’Connell left the game with a fractured thumb, Minshew returned to the field and struggled as the Raiders lost 15-20 to the Los Angeles Rams. Minshew completed 15 passes for 154 yards, threw three interceptions against no touchdowns, rushed for two yards on a carry, and lost a fumble, which was recovered for a touchdown by Kamren Curl of the Rams, but was also sacked twice. Minshew had a rough afternoon for the Raiders, as they completely imploded against the Rams. Minshew also has to step up and get prepared for the Raiders’ week eight matchup against the Kansas Chiefs, coming to town.
Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert: C
Herbert played an average game on the road as he and the Chargers lost 15-17 to the Arizona Cardinals in last-second fashion. Herbert completed 27 passes for 349 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for eight yards on two carries but was sacked three times. Despite Herbert’s decent night, the Chargers’ never reached the end zone and had kicker Cameron Dicker make five field goals all night. Herbert and the Chargers need to regroup as they welcome the New Orleans Saints to town in week eight.
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford: C-
Stafford struggled at times and couldn’t get the Rams over third down conversions in their 20-15 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. Stafford completed 14 passes for 154 yards, threw an interception against no touchdown passes, and rushed for negative two yards on two carries but was sacked once. Stafford may not have had the best game, as he failed to reach over 200 passing yards for the first time this season. Stafford and the Rams have a very tough week eight challenge against the Minnesota Vikings when they come to town.
Miami Dolphins: Tyler Huntley: B-
Huntley did whatever he could to help the Dolphins out, but Huntley had to leave the game with a shoulder injury, as the Dolphins lost to the Indianapolis Colts 10-16. Huntley completed seven passes for 87 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith against no interceptions, and rushed for 20 yards on five yards but was sacked twice. Huntley’s shoulder injury is going to hurt, as Tim Boyle took over for the rest of the game while Tua Tagovailoa continues his recovery from the concussion he sustained back in week two.
Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold: B
Darnold and the Vikings played their hearts out against the Detroit Lions but came up short in the nail-biting 29-31 loss at home. Darnold completed 22 passes for 259 yards, threw a touchdown to Justin Jefferson against an interception, and rushed for 39 yards on four carries but was sacked four times. Despite the loss, Darnold played well and did what he could to help the Vikings out, but his efforts weren’t enough in the end.
New England Patriots: Drake Maye: B-
Drake Maye did all he could to help the Patriots despite the team losing 16-32 in London to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Maye completed 26 passes for 276 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 18 yards on three carries, and was sacked two times. Maye looked good despite the Patriots’ rushing attack looking extremely weak and vulnerable against the Jaguars’ defense.
New Orleans Saints: Spencer Rattler: F
Rattler had a very rough Thursday night, as he and the Saints were demolished 10-33 at home against the Denver Broncos. Rattler completed 25 passes for 172 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 34 yards on five carries, was sacked six times, and lost two fumbles as one of them was returned for a touchdown. A very painful night for Rattler, as Drew Brees was getting inducted into the Saints’ Hall of Fame while Jake Haener threw the only touchdown for the Who Dat’s all night.
New York Giants: Daniel Jones: F
Daniel Jones had an awful Sunday, as he and the Giants were crushed 3-28 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones completed 14 passes for 99 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 20 yards on five carries, and was sacked seven times. To make things more insulting for the Giants, Jones hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass at MetLife Stadium in over 658 days. If Jones continues to unravel and struggle, the Giants are going to need to find their next signal caller in the 2025 offseason, whether it’s through free agency or the 2025 NFL draft.
New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers: D+
Rodgers and the Jets started the game off on a good note, but everything fell apart in the second half, as the Jets were dismantled 15-37 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers completed 24 passes for 276 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Tyler Conklin against two interceptions, and was sacked once. Rodgers lost the momentum of the game in the second half thanks to a few bad throws and a very elite Steelers’ defense, which made things very difficult for the Jets’ offense.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts: A-
Hurts had a very nice afternoon in the Eagles’ 28-3 beatdown victory over the New York Giants. Hurts completed 10 passes for 114 yards, threw a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown against no interceptions, rushed for 22 yards on seven yards, and scored two rushing touchdowns but was sacked four times. Hurts looked very strong, as he had a great afternoon on the ground for the Eagles. Hopefully, Hurts and the Eagles can keep this momentum going when they hit the road for their week eight matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Russell Wilson: A-
Wilson looked like a young version of himself leading the Seattle Seahawks to victory back in the 2010s, as he and the Steelers decimated the New York Jets 37-15. Wilson completed 16 passes for 264 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for three yards on three carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked once. If Wilson continues to play to the standard he had when he led the Seahawks to Super Bowls 48 and 49, the Steelers can potentially be a dark horse playoff contender.
San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy: D+
Purdy and the 49ers had an awful afternoon, as they lost to the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 12-28. Purdy completed 17 passes for 212 yards, threw three interceptions against no touchdowns, rushed for 27 yards on eight carries, and scored two rushing touchdowns but was sacked once. Purdy’s performance could’ve been much better, but he had too many missed opportunities as the Chiefs’ defense took advantage of his mistakes. Hopefully, Purdy can rebound and turn things around in week eight, when the 49ers square off against the Dallas Cowboys at home on Sunday Night Football.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: A-
Geno Smith had a very nice game on the road, as he and the Seahawks defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-14. Smith completed 18 passes for 207 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 15 yards on four carries, and was sacked once. A great game for Smith as he and the Seahawks return to full control of the NFC West… for now.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: B-
Mayfield and the Bucs had a tough hole to climb against the Baltimore Ravens as they attempted a comeback but ultimately fell short in an intense 31-41 loss at home. Mayfield completed 31 passes for 370 yards, threw three touchdowns against two interceptions, and rushed for 22 yards on five carries but was sacked three times. Mayfield did what he could to help his team out, but he and the Bucs will be without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin for a while as they went out with a hamstring and ankle injury, respectively. Mayfield needs to motivate the next men up quickly as the Bucs welcome the Atlanta Falcons to town for their week eight matchup.
Tennessee Titans: Mason Rudolph: D
Mason Rudolph started the game okay, as he helped the Titans to a 10-7 halftime lead against the Buffalo Bills, but the Bills came back, and the Titans lost 10-34. Rudolph completed 25 passes for 215 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, rushed for 13 yards on five carries, and was sacked three times and lost a fumble. Rudolph struggled while Will Levis was out due to a shoulder injury, as his poor performance shows. The Titans need a new starting quarterback for the 2025 NFL season and need to continue bolstering their offensive line.
Washington Commanders: Marcus Mariota: A-
Mariota sprang into action while Jayden Daniels left the game with a rib injury in the Commanders’ 40-7 impressive win over the Carolina Panthers. Mariota completed 18 passes for 205 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for 34 yards on 11 carries but was sacked once. Mariota showed he still has a lot in the tank, even though he’s currently a backup quarterback to Daniels. While the latter recovers from his injury and receives more tests on his ribs, Mariota has shown he still has some juice in the tank.
