Week four saw some great NFL quarterback play from the likes of Lamar Jackson, Jared Goff, Jayden Daniels, C.J. Stroud, and Joe Flacco, filling in for an injured Anthony Richardson as they led their teams to impressive victories, whether at home or on the road.
Some quarterbacks had average performances yet secured wins for their NFL teams, while other quarterbacks struggled and either won games or painfully lost them. Regardless, week four was yet another wild roller coaster ride for this ongoing season.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ quarterbacks after week four.
Who are the top NFL Quarterbacks after week 4 of games?
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray: C+
Despite the Cardinals getting blown out 14-42, Kyler Murray played a decent game. Murray completed 16 passes for 142 yards, threw a touchdown to Marvin Harrison Jr. against no interceptions, and rushed for three yards on one carry but was sacked four times. Despite Murray not throwing an interception, he ran into an up-and-coming Commanders’ defense that made things miserable for the Red Birds all game long.
Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins: D+
Cousins had a quiet afternoon as the Falcons secured the 26-24 win over their NFC South rivals, the New Orleans Saints. Cousins completed 21 passes for 238 yards, threw an interception against no touchdowns, and was sacked once. The famed NFL quarterback said to the press that it’s great to find a way to win in this league, even though he didn’t throw a single touchdown pass in the very close victory. However, Cousins needs to step it up as the Falcons square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their week five matchup.

Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A-
Jackson had an amazing Sunday night in primetime, as he and the Ravens defeated the Buffalo Bills 35-10. Jackson completed 13 passes for 156 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 54 yards on six carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked once. Jackson truly shined and made the Bills’ defense look sloppy, as he and the Ravens earned a strong statement victory.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen: C-
Josh Allen and company failed to get a win in primetime, even though Allen played an average game. The well-known NFL quarterback completed 16 passes for 180 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed for 21 yards on five carries but was sacked three times and lost a fumble. Not the best game by Allen, but it was most certainly not the worst game for him. He and the Bills need to regroup and get prepared for their week five matchup against the Houston Texans on the road.
Carolina Panthers: Andy Dalton: B
Despite the Panthers losing a tough 24-34 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Andy Dalton played well and was very similar to Joe Burrow statistically. Dalton completed 25 passes for 220 yards, threw two touchdowns against an interception, rushed for nine yards on three carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. Despite the loss, Dalton is still the answer at quarterback, moving forward, if the Panthers want to have a successful NFL season.
Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams: B+
Williams had a very nice Sunday afternoon as he led the Bears to a 24-18 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Williams completed 17 passes for 157 yards, threw a touchdown pass to DJ Moore against no interceptions, rushed for 12 yards on five carries, and was sacked three times. Williams’ play improved greatly as the Bears earned a well-needed win and snapped the team’s two-game losing streak.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow: B+
Joe Burrow played a very nice game, as he led the Bengals to their first win of the season with a 34-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Burrow completed 22 passes for 232 yards, threw two touchdowns against an interception, rushed for 10 yards on a carry, and wasn’t sacked at all. Burrow played a very similar game to Andy Dalton statistically, yet the Bengals came out on top, thanks to scoring an extra touchdown and field goal over the Panthers, in the end.

Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson: C-
Deshaun Watson didn’t play his worst game, as he put some effort into his week four performance against the Las Vegas Raiders despite the Browns losing 16-20. Watson completed 24 passes for 176 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 32 yards on eight carries but was sacked three times. One of those sacks came at the tail end of the game with 41 seconds left, when Watson had a chance to win the game, but he was denied entrance into the end zone. It was Charles Snowden sacking him that saved the game for the Raiders.
Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott: A-
Prescott had a very nice bounce-back game as he and the Cowboys shined on Thursday Night Football and defeated the New York Giants 20-15. The star NFL quarterback completed 22 passes for 221 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions and was sacked once. Prescott showed great leadership and resilience as he helped the Cowboys maintain some relevance in the NFC East against their bitter rivals.
Denver Broncos: Bo Nix: C+
Bo Nix may not have had the greatest passing day for the week, as he and the Broncos defeated the New York Jets 10-9. Nix completed 12 passes for 60 yards, threw a touchdown to Courtland Sutton against no interceptions, rushed for three yards on five carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. It felt very good seeing Nix throw his first touchdown pass, although it would’ve been icing on the cake if Nix got the ball to more receivers and tight ends in the game.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: A-
Jared Goff had an amazing night with a perfect passer rating as he and the Lions defeated the Seattle Seahawks 42-29. Goff completed 18 passes for 292 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, caught a touchdown pass from Amon-Ra St. Brown, which was very reminiscent of the “Philly Special” trick play from Super Bowl 52, and rushed for negative two yards on two carries, but was sacked three times. Goff’s performance was incredible. He embodied the heart and soul of the Detroit Lions, and he played the best game of his career on Monday Night Football.
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love: C+
Fresh from recovering from his MCL sprain, Jordan Love had some cobwebs to shake off in the Packers’ 29-31 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Love completed 32 passes for 389 yards, threw four touchdowns against three interceptions, rushed for six yards on one carry, and was sacked once. Love played fairly, but he still has improvements to make as he and the Packers travel to the City of Angels for a showdown with the Los Angeles Rams in week five.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: B+
C.J. Stroud had a very nice bounce-back game as he and the narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20. Stroud completed 27 passes for 345 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for 17 yards on three carries but was sacked twice. A very nice performance for Stroud, as he and the Texans rebounded from their disastrous week three loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Now, Stroud and company have to prepare for their week five matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Indianapolis Colts: Joe Flacco: B+
Anthony Richardson started the game for the Colts but suffered a hip injury. Joe Flacco stepped in and showed that he still got it. Flacco completed 16 passes for 168 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for three yards on two carries but was sacked twice. Similar to Gardner Minshew back in 2023, Flacco provides the Colts with a reliable veteran backup who can get the job done and earn the win as Richardson recovers from his hip injury.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence: B
Trevor Lawrence played a very nice game for the Jaguars but couldn’t get the win as they were defeated by the Houston Texans 20-24. Lawrence completed 18 passes for 169 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for five yards on three carries but was sacked once. Lawrence led the offense well, but the Jaguars fell just short and collapsed in the fourth quarter of the game like what happened in week one against the Miami Dolphins. Lawrence needs to lead that game-winning in more games, or the Jaguars will continue to have a long and miserable season.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes: B
Patrick Mahomes played well as the Chiefs came back from being down 10-0 against the Los Angeles Chargers and won 17-10. Mahomes completed 19 passes for 245 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 12 yards on five carries but was sacked three times. Mahomes played well as the leader of the Chiefs’ offense and had some help from Travis Kelce, who had a great game in the victory, but Mahomes lost Rashee Rice to a possible torn ACL after he and Mahomes collided. If anyone can get the job done and secure more wins for their team, no matter who’s around, it’s Mahomes.
Las Vegas Raiders: Gardner Minshew: D+
Despite Gardner Minshew not throwing a single touchdown or interception, he did lead the Raiders to a 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns. Minshew completed 14 passes for 130 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for negative two yards on two carries but was sacked twice. Minshew and the Raiders were missing Davante Adams, who was out due to a hamstring injury, yet he commanded the Raiders’ rushing attack to score two touchdowns on the ground and helped set Daniel Carlson to kick two field goals. Hopefully, Minshew improves and plays better for the Silver and Black come week five.
Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert: B-
Despite the Chargers letting a 10-0 first-quarter lead slip away, Herbert didn’t play a bad game. Herbert completed 16 passes for 179 yards and threw a touchdown against no interceptions but was sacked twice. Herbert is a good NFL quarterback, but the Chargers’ offense has struggled in recent games and needs to turn things around quickly. Luckily for Herbert and the Chargers, the team is on bye for week five.
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford: D+
Stafford had a rough game as the Rams lost to the Chicago Bears 18-24. Stafford completed 20 passes for 224 yards, threw an interception against no touchdowns, rushed for negative one yard on one carry, was sacked three times, and lost a fumble. The Rams’ offensive line injuries could be felt all game as Stafford and the Rams had a rough day in the Windy City. Stafford did, however, pass Eli Manning for the 10th most passing yards in NFL History.
Miami Dolphins: Tyler Huntley: D-
Former Baltimore Ravens’ backup quarterback had a very rough Monday night in his Dolphins debut as the team lost 12-31 to the Tennessee Titans. Huntley completed 14 passes for 96 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 40 yards on eight carries, and scored a rushing touchdown, but was sacked twice and lost a fumble. Huntley needs to improve if he wants to keep the Dolphins relevant in the ever-so-competitive AFC East, but he just arrived in South Beach, so he still has to learn more about the offensive schemes moving forward.
Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold: A-
Darnold had another very nice performance in the Vikings’ 31-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Darnold completed 20 passes for 275 yards, threw three touchdowns against an interception, and rushed for 15 yards on seven carries but was sacked twice. Darnold continues to amaze as he and the Vikings get prepared for their business trip across the pond and square off against the New York Jets in week five.
New England Patriots: Jacoby Brissett: D
Jacoby Brissett had a rough afternoon under center as the Patriots were smacked by the San Francisco 49ers 13-30. Brissett completed 19 passes for 168 yards, threw a touchdown against a very costly interception (which was returned by Fred Warner for a 45-yard pick-six), and rushed for three yards on two carries but was sacked six times. If Brissett continues to struggle against opposing defenses, it may be time for head coach Jerod Mayo to start Drake Maye sooner rather than later.
New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr: D+
Derek Carr had a quiet game as the Saints fell to the Atlanta Falcons 24-26. Carr completed 28 passes for 239 yards, threw an interception to Troy Andersen, who returned it for a 47-yard pick-six, and rushed for five yards on three carries but was sacked once. Carr needs to be more productive as the season continues. Especially against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football to conclude week five.
New York Giants: Daniel Jones: D
Daniel Jones regressed under the lights of Thursday night as he and the Giants lost 15-20 to the Dallas Cowboys. Jones completed 29 passes for 281 yards, threw an interception to Amani Oruwariye against no touchdowns, rushed for three yards on four carries, and was sacked once. Even though Jones has tried the best he can- if the losses continue to pile on, his time in the Big Apple may come to an end faster than he thinks.
New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers: D
Aaron Rodgers didn’t play his best game, as he and the Jets lost 9-10 to the Denver Broncos. Rodgers completed 24 passes for 225 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 26 yards on five carries, and was sacked five times. It was a painful loss for Rodgers and the Jets as they head back to the drawing board for their week five matchup across the pond against the Minnesota Vikings.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts: C
Jalen Hurts played fairly, but the Eagles had a very rough afternoon in their 16-33 loss. Hurts completed 18 passes for 158 yards, threw a touchdown pass against no interceptions, rushed for 20 yards on eight carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. Hurts played well, but the Eagles missed both DeVonta Smith and A.J.Brown as they are recovering from their respective injuries. Luckily for Hurts and the Eagles, they enter their week five bye week and can regroup for their week six matchup.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Fields: B
Justin Fields had a very nice performance on the field, despite the Steelers losing their first game of the 2024 season. Fields completed 22 passes for 312 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuch against no interceptions, rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Despite the loss, Fields played great and continues to show why he should be the Steelers’ starter for the rest of the season.
San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy: A-
Brock Purdy played very nicely as he and the 49ers defeated the New England Patriots 30-13. Purdy completed 15 passes for 288 yards, threw a touchdown to George Kittle against an interception, and rushed for 11 yards on five carries but was sacked only once. With this win and the return of Kittle and Deebo Samuel to the lineup, Purdy and the 49ers can expand on their second win and potentially retake the NFC West from the Seattle Seahawks. First, Purdy and company have to get prepared for their week five matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: C+
Despite the Seahawks’ undefeated season coming to an end, Geno Smith played fairly well in their 29-42 loss to the Detroit Lions. Smith completed 38 passes for 395 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 38 yards on five carries but was sacked five times. Smith played with a lot of heart and grit despite the loss. However, there was a moment where he missed Tyler Lockett on a failed fourth-down drive, which would’ve given the Seahawks another touchdown. Smith and the Seahawks have to regroup and get prepared for the team’s week five matchup against the New York Giants.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: B+
Mayfield had another impressive game, as he and the Buccaneers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 33-16. Mayfield completed 30 passes for 347 yards, threw two touchdowns, rushed for 10 yards on four carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked twice. Mayfield rebounded from an embarrassing week three and earned his team a very strong playoff rematch victory.
Tennessee Titans: Mason Rudolph: D
Even though Will Levis started the game and threw an interception, he injured his shoulder, forcing Rudolph into action. Rudolph completed nine passes for 85 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and was sacked once. If Levis is out long-term, Rudolph needs to improve his performance moving forward as the Titans’ competition continues to get much tougher. Luckily for the Titans, their bye week is in week five.
Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels: A-
Jayden Daniels had another great game as he and the Commanders defeated the Arizona Cardinals in a blowout 42-14 win. Daniels completed 26 passes for 233 yards, threw a touchdown against one interception, rushed for 47 yards on eight carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and wasn’t sacked at all. Daniels played a phenomenal game, as he looks like a potential Rookie of the Year winner. Keep amazing us, Mr. Daniels.
