Week three saw some excellent quarterback performances from the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and even Andy Dalton as they led their NFL teams to impressive victories.
We also got to see Jayden Daniels perform out of his mind as he led his team to an impressive road win. However, some quarterbacks had rough afternoons and evenings they would like to forget about as they couldn’t get the job done for their respective NFL teams and had to hit the reset button and get prepared for week four.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ quarterbacks after week three.
Who are the top NFL Quarterbacks after week three of games?
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray: B-
Despite the Cardinals losing 13-20 to the Detroit Lions, Murray played well. Murray completed 21 passes for 207 yards, threw a touchdown to Marvin Harrison Jr. against one interception, and rushed for 45 yards on five carries but was sacked once. Murray also threw 12 incompletions and went up against a ferocious Lions’ defense that wasn’t playing around as they wanted to forge their path to victory. Murray and the Red Birds will bounce back as they move on to week four against the Washington Commanders.
Atlanta Falcons: Kirk Cousins: C+
Cousins had a somewhat decent night, even though the Falcons lost a very close and controversial 17-22 Sunday night game to the Kansas City Chiefs. Cousins completed 20 passes for 230 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Drake London against an interception, rushed for negative one yards on one carry, and was sacked twice. Cousins may not be 100 percent like he used to be due to his recovery from his Achilles surgery, but he still is a solid offensive leader on the field. However, Cousins and the Falcons almost had a second touchdown to Kyle Pitts, but the refs missed a pass interference call on the Chiefs’ defense, and the Falcons ended up losing a tough one. On to the next one for Cousins and the Falcons.

Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A-
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens finally earned that elusive win by defeating the Dallas Cowboys 28-25, despite the Cowboys attempting a comeback. Jackson completed 12 passes for 182 yards, threw a touchdown to Rashod Bateman against no interceptions, rushed for 87 yards on 14 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and wasn’t sacked at all. If Jackson continues playing as we saw in week three, the Ravens will make some serious noise in the AFC North and potentially win their second straight conference championship, depending on how the rest of the season turns out.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen: A
Josh Allen and the Bills had an electric Monday night as they decimated the Jacksonville Jaguars 47-10. Allen completed 23 passes for 263 yards, threw four touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 44 yards on six carries, and didn’t get sacked once. This was a statement win by Allen, as he knows how to win games, and he can do it without Stefon Diggs on the roster.
Carolina Panthers: Andy Dalton: A-
Wow, what a difference a week makes! After the Panthers benched Bryce Young for Andy Dalton, Dalton took charge and led the Panthers to a stunning 36-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. Dalton completed 26 passes for 319 yards, threw three touchdowns in the first half of the game against no interceptions, and rushed for negative two yards on two carries but was sacked twice. With this victory, the Panthers should move forward with Dalton if he continues to play excellent games and possibly accept trade deals for Young before the trade deadline or in the 2025 offseason.
Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams: C-
Caleb Williams slightly improved on his performance in week three, but he and the Bears came up short in their 16-21 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Williams completed 33 passes for 363 yards, threw his first two touchdown passes of the season against two costly interceptions, and rushed for eight yards on a carry but was sacked four times and lost a fumble. Williams still has some growing pains to get over as he continues trying to make a name for himself in the NFL, but he and the Bears need to earn more wins moving forward.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow: B+
Despite the Bengals’ 33-38 loss to the Washington Commanders, Joe Burrow had a very productive Monday night. The famed NFL quarterback completed 29 passes for 324 yards, threw three touchdowns against no interceptions and rushed for four yards on one carry but was sacked twice. Despite the loss, it was very nice to see Burrow throw two of his touchdown passes to Ja’Marr Chase, as he had a very good night despite the loss. Hopefully, the Burrow and the Bengals rebound from this loss soon.
Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson: C-
Watson played a decent game, but he and the Browns lost 15-21 to the New York Giants. Watson completed 21 passes for 196 yards, threw two touchdowns to Amari Cooper against no interceptions, lost two fumbles, and was sacked eight times. Despite not throwing an interception, getting sacked eight times is no bueno as four of the Browns’ offensive linemen (Jedrick Wills, Wyatt Teller, James Hudson III, and Dawand Jones) left the field at certain points of the game as they dealt with injuries, which didn’t help Watson, as the Giants’ defense smothered him for the majority of the game.
Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott: B+
Despite a very slow start, Prescott led the Cowboys on an attempted comeback against the Baltimore Ravens, but the Cowboys ended up losing 25-28. Prescott completed 28 passes for 379 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for seven yards on two carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked three times. Prescott is the leader of this Cowboys team, but he threw some incompletions, and CeeDee Lamb fumbled the ball in the red zone in the second quarter of the game.
Denver Broncos: Bo Nix: C
Bo Nix finally got the Broncos a shocking 26-7 victory over the Buccaneers, even though he never threw a single touchdown pass all game. Nix completed 25 passes for 216 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 47 yards on nine carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. Nix is a great runner and has scored two rushing touchdowns so far this season, but Nix needs to step it up in the passing game and find open receivers in the end zone if he wants to throw his first touchdown pass of the 2024 season.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: B+
Jared Goff had a very nice bounce-back performance as the Lions defeated the Arizona Cardinals 20-13. Goff completed 18 passes for 199 yards, threw two touchdowns against an interception, rushed for six yards on three carries, and was sacked twice. A very nice game for Goff and the Lions, as they have their sights set on overtaking control of the NFC North from their rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, when they eventually square off this season.
Green Bay Packers: Malik Willis: A-
Still no Jordan Love, no problem. Willis had a solid afternoon in the Music City, as he led the Packers to a strong 30-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Willis completed 13 passes for 202 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Emanuel Wilson against no interceptions, rushed for 73 yards on six carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked three times. Willis is continuing to hold down the Packers’ offense as Jordan Love recovers from his MCL sprain and defeats his former team, the Titans, in a very strong return to Nashville.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: D-
It was a very disastrous day for C.J. Stroud and the Texans as they were crushed by the Minnesota Vikings 7-34. The beloved NFL quarterback completed 20 passes for 215 yards, threw a touchdown to Cam Akers against two interceptions, rushed for 12 yards on three carries, and was sacked four times. It was a brutal afternoon Stroud would like to forget as he and the Texans return to Houston to regroup and get focused on their week four matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Richardson: D+
Despite struggling and not scoring any touchdowns all game, Anthony Richardson did lead the Colts to a 12-16 victory over the Chicago Bears. Richardson completed 10 passes for 167 yards, threw two interceptions against no touchdowns, and rushed for 24 yards on eight carries but was sacked once. Richardson has a lot of potential to be a star in the league, but he also has some improvements to make, as he needs to increase the passing attack moving forward.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence: D-
Trevor Lawrence’s week three was a night he would like to forget about as the Jaguars were stomped on 10-47 by the Buffalo Bills. Lawrence completed 21 passes for 178 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, rushed for three yards on two carries, and was sacked four times. Lawrence and the Jaguars need to rebound fast or just lose out and hope for a very high draft pick for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes: A-
Mahomes and the Chiefs traveled to Atlanta and kept their undefeated season alive with a 22-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Mahomes completed 26 passes for 217 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, rushed for 17 yards on six carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. Despite some continued struggles from Travis Kelce and a quiet night from Xavier Worthy, Mahomes played very well and knew how to win games with the talent all around him. He’s still arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.
Las Vegas Raiders: Gardner Minshew: D+
After stunning the Baltimore Ravens on the road, Minshew struggled as the Raiders fell in a 22-36 shocking home loss to the Carolina Panthers. Minshew completed 18 passes for 214 yards, threw a touchdown to Jakobi Meyers against an interception, and rushed for 14 yards on three carries but was sacked twice. Minshew was replaced by Aidan O’Connell, who threw a touchdown pass to Tre Tucker, but head coach Antonio Pierce announced he isn’t committed to Minshew being the starter for the rest of the season if he continues to struggle in key games.
Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert: C+
Justin Herbert and the Chargers started the afternoon well, as they were up 10-7 at halftime against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Herbert had an ankle injury scare with the Chargers losing the game 10-20. Herbert completed 12 passes for 125 yards, threw a touchdown to Quentin Johnstin against an interception, and rushed for zero yards on one carry. The Chargers need to make sure Herbert stays healthy and should consider themselves lucky that recent X-rays on Herbert’s ankle came back negative. Fortunately, the Chargers have Taylor Heinicke on the roster, just in case Herbert goes down with an injury.
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford: B-
Stafford played well as the Rams shocked the San Francisco 49ers 27-24. Stafford completed 16 passes for 221 yards, threw a touchdown pass to Kyren Williams against no interceptions, and was sacked three times. Despite being outplayed by Brock Purdy, Stafford found a way to lead the Rams to victory, even without the team’s top two receivers, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, as they continue recovering from their respective injuries. Stafford needs to diversify the passing game and get other receivers and tight ends involved in the passing attack moving forward.
Miami Dolphins: Skylar Thompson: F
As Tua Tagovailoa recovers from his concussion, Skylar Thompson didn’t have a good afternoon in the Dolphins’ 3-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Thompson completed 13 passes for 107 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, was sacked five times, and suffered a rib injury forcing Tim Boyle into action. The Dolphins are a completely different team without Tagovailoa. With Thompson likely out for some time as his ribs recover, Boyle has to step it up, or the Dolphins might have to make some phone calls to free-agent veteran quarterbacks to save what’s left of their 2024 NFL season.
Minnesota Vikings: Sam Darnold: A-
Darnold is continuing to have a renaissance season, as he and the Vikings obliterated the Houston Texans 34-7. Darnold completed 17 passes for 181 yards and threw four touchdowns against no interceptions but was sacked four times. If the well-known continues to play like this, he will very likely help lead the Vikings back to the playoffs, be nominated, and possibly win the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award. Please continue to amaze us, Darnold.
New England Patriots: Jacoby Brissett: F
It was a brutal Thursday night for Jacoby Brissett and the Patriots as they were blown out 3-24 against the New York Jets. Brissett completed 12 passes for 98 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and was sacked five times. Brissett’s performance was awful as head coach Jerod Mayo swapped him out for rookie Drake Maye, who was sacked twice in the end. Brissett and the company need to rebound from this loss immediately if they want to stay relevant in the everchanging AFC East or if they’ll end up being bottom-feeders moving forward.
New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr: C-
Despite the Saints losing a tough game to the Philadelphia Eagles 12-15, Carr played a tiny bit better than Jalen Hurts. Carr completed 14 passes for 142 yards and threw a touchdown to Chris Olave against throwing the game-ending interception to Reed Blankenship of the Eagles, but was sacked once. Carr has so far played well in the 2024 season and has a lot to prove as he and the Saints need to bounce back and get prepared for their week four road trip to Atlanta and square off against the Atlanta Falcons.
New York Giants: Daniel Jones: B
After that horrific week one performance, Jones has turned things around and played a decent game in the Giants’ 21-15 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Jones completed 24 passes for 236 yards, threw two touchdowns to Malik Nabers against no interceptions, and rushed for 20 yards on eight carries but was sacked twice. Jones needs to continue playing like he did in this game moving forward because the Giants’ upcoming competition isn’t going to get easier as they’re set to square off against the Dallas Cowboys to open up week four.
New York Jets: Aaron Rodgers: A-
Rodgers and company shined on Thursday Night Football as the Jets defeated the New England Patriots 24-3. Rodgers completed 27 passes for 281 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for 18 yards on three carries but was sacked twice. Rodgers looked incredible and got the Jets their well-deserved victory over their longtime bullies after years of embarrassment in incredible fashion. We’ll see how Rodgers and the Jets do as the season continues.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts: D+
Hurts managed a good game on the ground but didn’t throw a touchdown pass despite the Eagles getting the 15-12 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Hurts completed 29 passes for 311 yards, threw an interception to Tyrann Mathieu against no touchdowns, and rushed for 25 yards on eight carries but was sacked four times and lost a fumble, which was recovered by Willie Gay of the Saints. Not the best game by Hurts, but it most certainly isn’t the worst, as he and the Eagles escape New Orleans with a victory, which is all that matters in the end.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Fields: B-
Fields had a good afternoon as he and the Steelers defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 20-10. Fields completed 25 passes for 245 yards, threw a touchdown to Calvin Austin III against an interception, rushed for six yards on six carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. The more Fields continues to win and improve, the more he’ll keep the starting job even if Russell Wilson is healthy and is ready to go. If Fields continues to improve, he can potentially be up for the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award.
San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy: B+
Brock Purdy played a far better game for the 49ers, but the 49ers lost to the Los Angeles Rams 24-27 in last-second fashion. Purdy completed 22 passes for 292 yards, threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for 41 yards on 10 carries but was sacked once and lost a fumble.
Despite the Rams winning in the last minute and a failed lateral attempt by the 49ers, the well-known NFL quarterback looked sharp as a passer and will help the 49ers earn more wins as the season continues.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: C+
Despite throwing more interceptions than touchdowns, Geno Smith was able to lead the Seahawks to a 24-3 victory over the struggling Miami Dolphins. Smith completed 26 passes for 289 yards, threw a touchdown to DK Metcalf against two interceptions, and rushed for negative two yards on two carries but was sacked three times.
Smith needs to slightly step it up and throw fewer interceptions as the Seahawks’ schedule will get tougher. Especially come week four when the Seahawks travel to the Motor City and square off against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: D
Baker Mayfield had a brutal Sunday afternoon as the Buccaneers lost a shocker to the Denver Broncos 7-26. The famed NFL quarterback completed 25 passes for 163 yards, threw a touchdown to Chris Godwin against an interception and was sacked seven times. Losing games happens all of the time in the NFL, but struggling after starting the first two games out on a positive note shows something needs to change for Mayfield and the Bucs moving forward if they want to maintain control of the NFC South.
Tennessee Titans: Will Levis: D
It was another brutal afternoon for Will Levis as he and the Titans fell to the Green Bay Packers 14-30. Willis completed 26 passes for 260 yards and threw two touchdowns against two interceptions (one of them being intercepted by Jaire Alexander, who returned it for a 35-yard pick-six), lost a fumble, and was sacked eight times. At this point, Levis is better known for his mayonnaise commercials than his gameplay as an NFL quarterback. He has been nothing short of awful so far in the 2024 season. It also doesn’t help Levis that the Titans’ offensive line has been one of the worst lines in the league. If Levis continues to struggle, it may be time to bench him.
Washington Commanders: Jayden Daniels: A-
Week three’s Monday night game between the Commanders and Cincinnati Bengals was a coming-out party for Daniels as he and the Commanders earned an impressive 38-33 victory on the road. Daniels completed 21 passes for 254 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 39 yards on 12 carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked twice.
If Daniels continues to play like we saw in week three, he can potentially win both the Offensive Rookie of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards.
