Week 18 saw some quarterbacks sit out and rest as their teams get prepared for the playoffs while other quarterbacks saw action and helped their respective teams earn a playoff berth. Other quarterbacks struggled to stay afloat and finish the regular season on a positive note and let their chances of reaching the playoffs disappear in an instant as they head into the 2024 offseason.
Here is where all 32 NFL Teams quarterbacks look after week 18 games:
Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray: C+ (Last week B-)
Kyler Murray played decently despite the Cardinals losing 20-21 to the Seattle Seahawks. Murray completed 22 passes for 262 yards, threw a touchdown against no interceptions, and rushed for 33 yards on five carries but was sacked once. It was a good performance for Murray who needs more talented playmakers at wide receiver and tight end for the upcoming 2024 season- if the Cardinals want to return to glory.
Atlanta Falcons: Desmond Ridder: C (Last week D-)
Desmond Ridder played a decent game statistically, but the Falcons lost 17-48. Ridder completed 22 passes for 291 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, and wasn’t sacked at all. Ridder may not be the answer for the Falcons moving forward, as he has been a hit-or-miss quarterback for the majority of the season. Ridder can serve as a good backup, if the Falcons choose to draft another quarterback or if he goes to another team, in the future.
Baltimore Ravens: Tyler Huntley: C+ (Last week A+)

Tyler Huntley filled in for a resting Lamar Jackson, as the Ravens lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 10-17 in week 18. Huntley completed 15 passes for 146 yards, threw a touchdown pass against no interceptions, and rushed for 40 yards on eight carries but was sacked four times. Huntley played well, but needs to avoid getting sacked and must be prepared, if anything happens to Jackson in the playoffs.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen: B- (Last week C)
Josh Allen played a decent game, as the Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins 21-14 and claimed the AFC East crown. Allen completed 30 passes for 359 yards, threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, and rushed for 67 yards on 15 carries but was sacked three times. Allen needs to avoid throwing interceptions as the Bills get prepared for the Pittsburgh Steelers coming to western New York in the upcoming playoffs.
Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young: F (Last week F)
It was a rough afternoon for Bryce Young, as the Panthers were shut out 0-9 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Young completed 11 passes for 94 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for 24 yards on two carries, but was sacked three times and lost a fumble. Young needs to have a stronger offensive line and stronger star-like wide receivers to help him rebound in the 2024 season and avoid repeating humiliating shutout losses, like this one.
Chicago Bears: Justin Fields: D- (Last week B-)
It was a rough day for Justin Fields, as the Bears lost to the playoff-bound Green Bay Packers 17-9. Fields completed 11 passes for 148 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed for 27 yards on eight carries, but was sacked five times. Fields need to make a lot of improvements in the 2024 season, if he wants to be a Bear. With telling the fans he gave it his all this season, he may have been unofficially saying goodbye to the team, for the upcoming offseason. If Fields does remain in Chicago, the Bears need to draft more talented offensive weapons for Fields to work with.
Cincinnati Bengals: Jake Browning: B (Last week C)
It was a good afternoon for Jake Browning, as he helped the Bengals finish their season on a positive note, with a 31-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns. Browning completed 18 passes for 156 yards, threw three touchdowns against one interception, and rushed for 18 yards on two carries, but was sacked once, lost a fumble, and recovered it. It was a good afternoon for Browning, as he finished the season on a high note. The Bengals look to improve with Joe Burrow for the 2024 season.
Cleveland Browns: Jeff Driskel: C- (Last week B)
Jeff Driskel (standing in for Joe Flacco as he rested for the upcoming playoffs), did a decent job on the field, despite the Browns losing 14-31. Driskel completed 13 passes for 166 yards, threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, and rushed for 33 yards on seven carries, but was sacked three times. Driskel played well and needs to be prepared, just in case anything happens to Flacco during practice or in the playoffs against the Houston Texans.
Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott: B+ (Last week B)
Dak Prescott played a strong game, as he and the Cowboys demolished the Washington Commanders, 38-10. Prescott completed 21 passes for 279 yards, threw four touchdowns against one interception, and wasn’t sacked at all. Prescott performed very well, and needs to continue carrying this energy into the playoffs against a very tough and resilient Green Bay Packers team- in the upcoming wildcard round.
Denver Broncos: Jared Stidham: D (Last week C-)
Jared Stidham had a rough afternoon in Sin City, as the Broncos fell to the Las Vegas Raiders, 14-27. Stidham completed 20 passes for 272 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for two yards on three carries but was sacked five times. Stidham is not the Broncos’ answer, at quarterback, moving forward in 2024. He should stay on the roster as a reliable QB backup, who can help the team return to glory. The Broncos should get out their shopping list, whether it’s a veteran in free agency or a newly drafted quarterback from the 2024 Draft.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: B (Last week D+)
Jared Goff had a great rebound week in week 18, in the Lions’ 30-20 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Goff completed 23 passes for 320 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and was sacked once. Goff played very well, but needs to get prepared for his largest test as a Lion, when the team takes on Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs.
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love: B (Last week A-)
Jordan Love played great as the Packers not only defeated the Chicago Bears 17-9 but also returned to the playoffs as a wildcard team. Love completed 27 passes for 316 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for negative one yard on three carries but was sacked once. Love is truly the new face of the Packers’ offense as he had a great first full season as the team’s starter since Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets in the 2023 offseason.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: A- (Last week C+)
C.J. Stroud played incredibly well in the Texans 23-19 win over the Houston Texans. Stroud completed 20 passes for 264 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for 20 yards on three carries but was sacked twice. Stroud looks to be a potential lock for the NFL’s Rookie of the Year award, as he helped lead the Texans back to the playoffs as well as secure the AFC South championship with the Tennessee Titans defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Indianapolis Colts: Gardner Minshew: D (Last week C+)
It was a rough Saturday night for Gardner Minshew, as he and the Colts fell to Houston Texans 19-23 and were eliminated from playoff contention. Minshew completed 13 passes for 141 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for nine yards on one carry but was sacked once. Minshew’s performance was lackluster, at best, as he also threw 11 incompletions in the game including a very bad drop from Tyler Goodson at the very end of the contest.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence: C- (Last week C)
Trevor Lawrence returned to action as the Jaguars lost to the Tennessee Titans 20-28. Lawrence completed 29 passes for 280 yards, threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, and rushed for 10 yards on three carries. Lawrence also wasn’t sacked at all, but he and the Jaguars let a playoff appearance slip away, as the Jaguars look to patch things up in the 2024 offseason.
Kansas City Chiefs: Blaine Gabbert: D+ (Last week C-)
Blaine Gabbert took control of the offense as Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the main starters were resting in the Chiefs’ week 18 13-12 victory, over the Los Angeles Chargers. Gabbert completed 15 passes for 154 yards, threw an interception against no touchdowns, and rushed for 46 yards on five carries, but was sacked once. Gabbert isn’t the best backup quarterback, but, can play fair just in case anything happens to Patrick Mahomes- in any situation.
Las Vegas Raiders: Aidan O’Connell: B (Last week C)
Aidan O’Connell played his heart out, as the Raiders defeated the Denver Broncos 27-14 in the season finale. O’Connell completed 20 passes for 244 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for one yard on four carries, but was sacked twice. O’Connell has the potential to be a starter for the Raiders moving forward, but could return as a backup as the Raiders enter the 2024 offseason.
Los Angeles Chargers: Easton Stick: D (Last week D+)
Easton Stick’s time as a starter has concluded for now, as the Chargers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 12-13. Stick completed 28 passes for 258 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for 77 yards on 13 carries, but was sacked three times. Stick did everything he could as a starter while Justin Herbert recovers from his thumb surgery. Stick should be ready at any given moment for action, if anything happens to Herbert on the field in the 2024 regular season.
Los Angeles Rams: Carson Wentz B: (Last week No Rank)
Carson Wentz (who was signed earlier in the regular season) took the keys to the offense, as Matthew Stafford was out for the week, while the team rested him for the upcoming playoffs. Wentz led the Rams to a 21-20 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Wentz completed 17 passes for 163 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, rushed for 56 yards on 17 carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked twice. Wentz played well and now, ultimately, needs to be prepared for the worst-case scenario- if Stafford gets hurt in the playoffs.
Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa: D+ (Last week C-)
It was a very tough night in South Beach for Tua Tagovailoa, as the Dolphins lost to the Buffalo Bills 14-21. Tagovailoa completed 17 passes for 173 yards, threw a touchdown against two interceptions, rushed for seven yards on one carry, and wasn’t sacked at all. Tagovailoa needs to throw more completions and avoid throwing turnovers, as the Dolphins get themselves prepared for the Kansas City Chiefs, in the upcoming playoffs.
Minnesota Vikings: Nick Mullen: C- (Last week C-)
Nick Mullens played somewhat better than Jaren Hall did in week 17, but the Vikings still suffered a 20-30 loss to the Detroit Lions. Mullens completed 30 passes for 396 yards, threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, and rushed for eight yards on two carries, but was sacked four times. Mullens’ performance wasn’t the worst, but is probably not the Vikings’ answer at quarterback as the team will begin looking for a new signal-caller if Kirk Cousins becomes a free agent.
New England Patriots: Bailey Zappe: F (Last week D-)
Bailey Zappe had a terrible performance, in the snow, as the Patriots suffered a 3-17 loss to the New York Jets on what could potentially be Bill Belichick’s final game as Patriots head coach. Zappe completed 12 receptions for 88 yards, threw two interceptions against no touchdowns, and rushed for 13 yards on three carries but was sacked seven times. Zappe’s brutal performance showcased everything that was the Patriots’ disastrous 2023 season: A horrible offensive line, no big-name wide receivers other than Hunter Henry to work with, and a team that needs a new coach for a fresh start.
New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr: B+ (Last week B)
Derek Carr played a very strong game in the Saints 48-17 beat down victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Carr completed 22 passes for 264 yards, threw four touchdowns against no interceptions, and rushed for six yards on one carry but was sacked twice. Carr played well in the season finale, but needs to play much better with the Saints moving forward in the 2024 season.
New York Giants: Tyrod Taylor: C+ (Last week C-)
Tyrod Taylor played a decent game as he and the Giants finished the regular season on a positive note in their 27-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Taylor completed 23 passes for 297 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 46 yards on eight carries but was sacked once. Taylor and Tommy DeVito fulfilled their duties as backups as Daniel Jones is expected to return in the 2024 season. However, the Giants need to drastically strengthen their offensive line immediately if anyone is going to play comfortably under center in the 2024 regular season.
New York Jets: Trevor Siemian: D+ (Last week D+)
Trevor Siemian played a bland game in the snowy 17-3 victory over the New England Patriots. Siemian completed eight passes for 70 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for one yard on two carries but was sacked once. Siemian threw 12 incompletions in the win. He needs to improve his performance during the upcoming offseason if he wants to be a good and reliable backup in the 2024 regular season, in case anything happens to the starting quarterback of whatever team signs Siemian next.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts: D- (Last week B-)
Jalen Hurts struggled in the Eagles final regular season game, as they lost 10-27 to the New York Giants. Hurts completed seven passes for 55 yards and threw an interception against no touchdowns but was sacked five times. Hurts also popped his finger out, in the game, which allowed Marcus Mariota to see some action. Mariota completed 13 passes for 148 yards, threw a touchdown against an interception, and rushed for 46 yards on six carries but was sacked three times. With Hurts’ popping his finger, it does raise some eyebrows on whether he can play in the team’s playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he appears to be okay for now.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Mason Rudolph: C+ (Last week D+)
Mason Rudolph played much better in the Steelers’ week 18 regular season finale, as they defeated the Baltimore Ravens 17-10. Rudolph completed 18 passes for 152 yards, threw a touchdown against no interceptions, and rushed for negative one-yard one two carries but was sacked three times. With the Steelers punching their ticket to the playoffs as a wildcard team, Rudolph must be prepared to lead the Black and Yellow on a potential playoff run or possibly get replaced by Kenny Pickett or Mitch Trubisky.
San Francisco 49ers: Sam Darnold: C+ (Last week A-)
Despite losing to the Los Angeles Rams 20-21, Sam Darnold played a decent game, filling in for a resting Brock Purdy. Darnold completed 16 passes for 189 yards, threw a touchdown against no interceptions, rushed for 19 yards on seven carries, and scored a rushing touchdown but was sacked three times. Darnold showed he still can make talented plays despite being a backup quarterback.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: B (Last week C-)
Geno Smith played well in the Seahawks 21-20 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Smith completed 16 passes for 189 yards, threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, rushed for 28 yards on three carries, and wasn’t sacked at all. Despite missing a chance at the playoffs, Geno Smith played a good game to finish off the 2023 regular season on a positive note.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: D+ (Last week C-)
Baker Mayfield didn’t play his best game of the season, but he did lead the Buccaneers to a 9-0 shutout victory over the Carolina Panthers, as well as the NFC South crown and a trip to the playoffs. Mayfield completed 20 passes for 137 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, and rushed for seven yards on five carries but was asked three times. A somewhat tough performance for Mayfield, but he can rest a little easier since the Bucs made it back to the playoffs.
Tennessee Titans: Ryan Tannehill: B- (Last week D-)
If this is Ryan Tannehill’s last season in Nashville, TN, he finished the last game of the 2023 season on a positive note in a 28-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tannehill completed 17 passes for 168 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, and rushed for negative three yards on three carries but was sacked twice. Tannehill’s prime years may be behind him, as the Titans are possibly going to move forward with Will Levis. However, the Titans need to strengthen the offensive line if Levis or if by some miracle Tannehill comes back and is successful in the 2024 season.
Washington Commanders: Sam Howell: F (Last week D-)
It was a brutal final regular season game for Sam Howell, as he and the Commanders fell to the Dallas Cowboys 10-38. Howell completed 19 passes for 153 yards, threw a touchdown against two interceptions, and rushed for negative one yards on four carries but was sacked four times. Howell was not made to be a starter in the NFL, but can revive his career as a journeyman backup on a much better roster depending on who takes on Howell next.
