In week six, we saw exceptional running back performances from some of the best runners in the NFL. They continued to gain yards against opposing defenses and score key touchdowns.
However, some running backs had a rough afternoon. Their team struggled all game long, preventing them from making those critical plays an offense needed to win. There’s still time to turn things around as this wild 2024 season continues.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ running backs after week six.
Which running backs have the highest grades in the NFL after week 6 of games?
Arizona Cardinals: James Conner: F
Conner had a rough game in the Cardinals’ 13-34 loss against the Green Bay Packers. Conner rushed for 24 yards on seven carries and caught four receptions for 22 yards but lost a fumble in the game. When Conner struggles on the field, the rest of the Cardinals’ offense will also struggle in key games. Hopefully, Conner will bounce back and have a much better game in the coming weeks.
Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson: A
Robinson had himself a very nice afternoon on the ground in the Falcons’ 38-20 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Robinson rushed for 95 yards on 15 carries, scored two rushing touchdowns, and caught three receptions for 10 yards. A very impressive showing for Robinson as he showed why he’s one of the best offensive weapons in the Falcons’ arsenal.

Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry: A
Henry had another dominant day for the Ravens as they defeated the Washington Commanders 30-23. Henry rushed for 132 yards on 24 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. A very strong afternoon for King Henry as he continues to flourish in Todd Monken’s offense. Henry and company hit the road for a week seven showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Buffalo Bills: Ray Davis: B
Ray Davis had a nice start in the Bills’ 23-20 victory over the New York Jets as James Cook was sidelined with a toe injury. Davis rushed for 97 yards on 20 carries and caught three receptions for 55 yards. It would’ve been very nice to see Davis score a touchdown, but the Jets’ defense played a good matchup, and it wasn’t meant to be this week. Hopefully, Davis can score his second touchdown of the season in the coming weeks.
Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard: B
Despite the Panthers losing a tough 20-38 loss at home to the Atlanta Falcons, Hubbard played very well. Hubbard rushed for 92 yards on 18 carries and caught five receptions for 11 yards. Despite Hubbard’s efforts, it wasn’t enough, as the Panthers currently had a woeful 1-5 record and had lost all of their home games so far.
Chicago Bears: D’Andre Swift: A-
Swift has found his rhythm for the Bears as they crushed the Jacksonville Jaguars 35-16. Swift rushed for 91 yards on 17 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught four receptions for 28 yards. Despite the woes of the offensive line earlier in the season, Swift and company have cleaned things up and are starting to bring winning football back to the Windy City for now. Hopefully, Swift and company continue their winning ways moving forward.
Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown: C+
Brown had a nice night for the Bengals in prime-time as the Bengals defeated the New York Giants 17-7. Brown rushed for 53 yards on 10 carries, scored the exclamation point touchdown in the fourth quarter to further seal the deal for the Bengals, and caught two receptions for 11 yards on the night. Brown is continuing to excel in the Bengals’ offense as the team looks to build upon this win.

Cleveland Browns: Pierre Strong Jr.: D+
Strong Jr. had a decent day as the Browns struggled offensively in their 16-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He rushed for 43 yards on eight carries and caught two receptions for 35 yards in the afternoon. Strong Jr. did what he could for the Browns’ rushing attack while Nick Chubb recovers and will likely be available to return for the Browns in week seven when they return home and square off against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Dallas Cowboys: Rico Dowdle: F
Dowdle and the Cowboys had a very brutal afternoon as they were humiliated at home against the Detroit Lions 9-47. Dowdle rushed for 25 yards on five carries and caught five receptions for 30 yards. Meanwhile, the rest of the Cowboys’ rushing attack was held to a combined 53 yards all game as they luckily enter a bye week for week seven.
Denver Broncos: Javonte Williams: F
Williams had a very disastrous game for the Broncos as they were defeated by the Los Angeles Chargers 16-23 at home. The well-known NFL running back rushed for 23 yards on six carries and caught three receptions for 13 yards but lost a fumble in the second quarter of the game. A very painful afternoon Williams would like to forget about as the Broncos saddle up and hit the road for a week seven showdown against the New Orleans Saints.
Detroit Lions: David Montgomery: A-
David Montgomery had an impressive game for the Lions as they decimated the Dallas Cowboys 47-9. Montgomery rushed for 80 yards on 12 carries, scored two rushing touchdowns, and caught a reception for no yards. An impressive afternoon on the ground for Montgomery as he took advantage of the struggling Cowboys’ defense for the majority of the game.
Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs: C
Josh Jacobs may not have scored a touchdown all game, even though he performed well on the field in the Packers’ 34-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Jacobs rushed for 62 yards on 18 carries and caught three receptions for 18 yards. It would’ve been nice to see Jacobs score his second touchdown of the season, even though the Packers’ offense had a great afternoon against the Redbirds.
Houston Texans: Joe Mixon: A-
Joe Mixon returned to action and shined in the Texans’ 41-21 victory over the New England Patriots. Mixon rushed for 102 yards on 13 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, caught two receptions for 30 yards, and scored a receiving touchdown as well. With Mixon back in the lineup, the Texans’ offense should play very nicely against opposing defenses as the season continues.
Indianapolis Colts: Tyler Goodson: C
Goodson played fair in the Colts’ 20-17 win over the Tennessee Titans, but he is no Jonathan Taylor. Goodson rushed for 51 yards on eight carries and caught four receptions for 14 yards. Goodson did enough to help the Colts secure the win while Taylor recovers from a high ankle sprain.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Tank Bigsby: D
Bigsby had a rough game abroad as he and the Jaguars were demolished by the Chicago Bears 16-35. Bigsby rushed for 24 yards on seven carries and returned three kickoffs for 102 yards but fumbled the ball, which was recovered by the Jaguars. A rough afternoon for the Jaguars as their struggles returned. Bigsby and the rest of the Jaguars’ rushing attack had a rough afternoon against the Bears’ defense.
Kansas City Chiefs: Kareem Hunt: Bye Week
Hunt coming back to the Chiefs was the right move as Isiah Pacheco recovers from his fractured fibula. Hopefully, Pacheco recovers well and returns to action when the time is right and can share the backfield with Hunt.
Las Vegas Raiders: Alexander Mattison: D+
Mattison and the Raiders’ rushing attack had a brutal afternoon against the Pittsburgh Steelers in their 13-32 loss at home. Mattison rushed for 33 yards on 14 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught five receptions for 32 yards. Mattison and the Raiders’ rushing attack combined for a mere 57 yards on the ground as the Steelers’ defense played a relentless game all afternoon.
Los Angeles Chargers: J.K. Dobbins: A-
Dobbins had a very nice rebound game as he and the Chargers defeated the Denver Broncos 23-16. Dobbins rushed for 96 yards on 25 carries, scored a touchdown, and caught two receptions for six yards. It was nice to see Dobbins return to form as he struggled in the past two games before the Bolts’ week five bye week as sometimes a little rest is all you need to succeed.
Los Angeles Rams: Kyren Williams: Bye Week
Despite all of the Rams’ injury woes on offense, Williams continues to be a glimmer of hope for an injury-depleted roster.
Miami Dolphins: Jaylen Wright: Bye Week
Wright and the Dolphins’ offense have struggled for the majority of the season as they’re missing Tua Tagovailoa, who is recovering from a concussion he suffered in week two. Wright and company need to carry on as the Dolphins hit the road for their week seven matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
Minnesota Vikings: Aaron Jones: Bye Week
Jones has been great with the Vikings so far in this wild 2024 season. However, Jones and company will be tested as the Vikings get set to host the Detroit Lions in a week seven divisional showdown.
New England Patriots: Antonio Gibson: F
With Rhamondre Stevenson out with a foot injury, Antonio Gibson had a rough time on the ground as the Texans lost a tough 21-41 battle against the Houston Texans. Gibson rushed for 19 yards on 13 carries and caught three receptions for 24 yards. A tough afternoon for Gibson as the Patriots’ rushing attack needs to drastically improve, and the offensive line needs to create more holes for the running backs to run through, even though they’ve been dealing with nagging injuries so far this NFL season.
New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara: C+
Despite the Saints dropping their fourth straight game in a painful 27-51 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kamara had a nice game on the ground. Kamara rushed for 40 yards on 11 carries, scored a touchdown, and caught five receptions for 24 yards. A good performance from Kamara, but it wasn’t enough, as the Bucs’ defense dominated the Saints for the majority of the game.
New York Giants: Tyrone Tracy Jr.: C-
As Devin Singletary recovers from a groin injury, Tracy Jr. continues to carry the ground game on his back even though the Giants lost a tough 7-17 battle at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Tracy Jr. rushed for 50 yards on 17 carries, scored the team’s only touchdown, and caught six receptions for 57 yards. Tracy Jr. is emerging as another reliable NFL running back to help take the workload off Singletary’s back when he returns from his groin injury.
New York Jets: Breece Hall: A-
Hall had a very nice game despite the Jets losing a very close and intense 20-23 battle against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Hall rushed for 113 yards on 18 carries and caught five receptions for 56 yards. A very good night for Hall after weeks of struggling in the Jets’ offense. Hopefully, Hall and the Jets can rebound and get out of their losing streak soon.
Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley: D+
Barkley didn’t have his best game back in action despite the Eagles winning 20-16 over the Cleveland Browns. Barkley rushed for 47 yards on 18 carries and caught two receptions for seven yards. Not the best performance from Barkley, as he’s coming off a bye week. However, Barkley can make up for his performance as the Eagles hit the road in week seven and square off against his former team, the New York Giants, in the Meadowlands.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris: A-
Najee Harris finally had himself a nice game as the Steelers defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 32-13. Harris rushed for 106 yards on 14 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught two receptions for 16 yards. Harris and the Steelers’ rushing attack shined and withered down the Raiders’ defense for a successful afternoon on the ground in Las Vegas.
San Francisco 49ers: Jordan Mason: C+
Mason had a decent game on the road despite suffering a sprained AC joint in the 49ers’ 36-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Mason rushed for 73 yards on nine carries and caught a reception for nine yards. Mason is currently considered day-to-day with his sprained AC joint. However, rookie NFL running back Isaac Guerendo stepped up to the plate and rushed for 99 yards on 10 carries and had an impressive 76-yard run in the fourth quarter. Hopefully, Mason will recover well and return to action very soon.
Seattle Seahawks: Kenneth Walker III: D+
Walker III and the Seahawks had a rough Thursday night as they were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers 24-36. Walker III rushed for 32 yards on 14 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught eight receptions for 37 yards. Walker III and the Seahawks also faced a ferocious 49ers’ defense that held Walker III and the Seahawks’ rushing attack to a combined 52 yards on the ground. Hopefully, Walker III and the Seahawks can rebound after this loss in week seven.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sean Tucker: A
Sean Tucker had a heck of a performance in the Buccaneers’ 51-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Tucker rushed for 136 yards on 14 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, caught three receptions for 56 yards, and scored a receiving touchdown. An impressive performance for the second-year undrafted free agent, as he and the Buccaneers dominated the Saints on the road.
Tennessee Titans: Tony Pollard: A-
Despite the Titans’ struggles on offense all game, Tony Pollard was the team’s saving grace in their week six 17-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Pollard rushed for 93 yards on 17 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Will Levis is not the offensive leader for the Titans as that torch is in the hands of Pollard as he continues to play well despite the Titans having a 1-4 record coming off their week five bye week.
Washington Commanders: Austin Ekeler: D-
Austin Ekeler and the Commanders’ rushing attack struggled on the road as the team fell 23-30 to the Baltimore Ravens. Ekeler rushed for 21 yards on nine carries and caught four receptions for 47 yards. Brian Robinson Jr. Ekeler is not as Robinson Jr. was missed throughout the game while he recovers from a knee injury. Ekeler and the Commanders return home for a week seven showdown against the Carolina Panthers.
