Week 10 was another exciting week, as the NFL’s best running backs made key impacts on offense and helped lead their respective teams to victory on the ground. Some running backs, however, ran into strong opposing defenses and struggled to find their way to the end zone, while others rose to the occasion and had massive afternoons for their teams.
However, they alone could not secure the win. Regardless of the outcome, we look forward to watching what happens next in week 11.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ running backs after week 10.
Who are the top running backs in the NFL after week 10?
Arizona Cardinals: Trey Benson: C
Benson had a decent day for the Cardinals as they dismantled the New York Jets 31-6. Benson rushed for 62 yards on 10 carries and caught two receptions for 25 yards but didn’t score a touchdown. Benson’s teammate, James Conner, scored a rushing touchdown and had 33 rushing yards while Benson ripped through the struggling Jets’ defense with ease.
Atlanta Falcons: Bijan Robinson: A
Even though the Falcons lost a tough and stunning 17-20 game against the New Orleans Saints, Robinson had a very productive afternoon on the ground. Robinson rushed for 116 yards on 20 carries, scored two rushing touchdowns, and caught three receptions for 28 yards. Robinson was a sign of life for the Falcons’ offense all game and kept the team in it against the Saints as much as he could.

Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry: B+
Henry played another solid game for the Ravens, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 35-34. Henry rushed for 68 yards on 16 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught a reception for three yards. Henry continued to extend his streak, having a touchdown scored in each game he’s played so far. This has done wonders for offensive coordinator, Todd Monken’s, offense. Henry and company travel to the Keystone State for a week 11 divisional showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Buffalo Bills: James Cook: B+
Cook had a very nice afternoon for the Bills, as they took care of business 30-20 against the Indianapolis Colts. Cook rushed for 80 yards on 19 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught a reception for five yards. Cook continues to be a reliable NFL running back for the Bills’ ground game. The team is currently on track, with their sights set on winning their fifth straight AFC East championship… depending on how the rest of the season turns out.
Carolina Panthers: Chuba Hubbard: A
After signing a four-year $33.2 million extension, Hubbard showed why he was worth every penny of the new extension, as he and the Panthers defeated the New York Giants in a 20-17 overtime victory in Munich, Germany. Hubbard rushed for 153 yards on 28 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught four receptions for 16 yards, but did lose a fumble in the fourth quarter to the Giants until Jones threw an interception a play later, giving the Panthers the ball. Hubbard and the Panthers return home and enter a bye week for week 11.
Chicago Bears: D’Andre Swift: C-
Swift had an okay afternoon for the Bears, even though the team lost a painful 3-19 home stand against the New England Patriots. Swift rushed for 59 yards on 16 carries and caught a reception for six yards. Swift was a shining light for the Bears on offense, while the rest of the team fell flat and failed to score any touchdown all game long.
Cincinnati Bengals: Chase Brown: C+
Brown played a decent game for the Bengals in their nail-biting 34-35 loss against the Baltimore Ravens on the road. Brown rushed for 42 yards on 13 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught nine receptions for 52 yards. Brown did what he could to help the Bengals out, but his efforts came up short in their very close and controversial loss on the road. Brown and the Bengals head west to Hollywood for a Sunday night showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Cleveland Browns: Nick Chubb: Bye Week
Having Chubb back in the lineup after he recovered from his ACL and MCL surgery in 2023 will help the Browns’ offense out in the second half of the season as they fight to stay relevant.
Dallas Cowboys: Rico Dowdle: C-
Even though the Cowboys struggled offensively in their 6-34 beatdown loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, Rico Dowdle had a decent day for the team. Dowdle rushed for 53 yards on 12 carries and caught three receptions for three yards. Dowdle and the rest of the offense need to step up as quarterback Dak Prescott will miss the rest of the 2024 season due to opting for surgery to repair a partially torn hamstring.
Denver Broncos: Audric Estime: C-
Estime had a decent afternoon for the Broncos, as they lost 14-16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Estime rushed for 53 yards on 14 carries but didn’t score any touchdowns. Estime is quietly emerging as a good NFL running back in the Broncos’ backfield, but he and the team need to bounce back from this loss. Estime and the Broncos return home for a week 11 showdown against the visiting Atlanta Falcons.
Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs: C
Gibbs and the Lions had a nice Sunday night as they defeated the Houston Texans 26-23 in comeback fashion. Gibbs rushed for 71 yards on 19 carries and caught two receptions for 37 yards. Gibbs and the Lions’ backfield had a good night, but his three-game streak of scoring a touchdown in games came to an end. Gibbs and company return home for a week 11 match-up against the Jacksonville Jaguars coming to town.
Green Bay Packers: Josh Jacobs: Bye Week
Jacobs has flourished in the Packers’ offense so far this season. It would be nice to see Jacobs score more touchdowns on the ground. Hopefully, he can make that happen as the second half of the 2024 season progresses.
Houston Texans: Joe Mixon: C
Mixon had a decent night for the Texans, even though the team lost 23-26 against the Detroit Lions. Mixon rushed for 46 yards on 25 carries, scored a touchdown, and caught two receptions for 44 yards. It may have been Mixon’s least productive day as a Texan, but he managed to get into the end zone and deliver some points.
Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor: A-
Taylor had a great afternoon for the Colts, even though the team lost 20-30 against the Buffalo Bills. The star NFL running back rushed for 114 yards on 21 carries and caught two receptions for eight yards. Taylor had one of his better games for Indy, but it would’ve been icing on the cake if he was able to score a touchdown. Taylor and the Colts saddle up and head east for a showdown against the New York Jets in week 11.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Travis Etienne Jr.: C-
Etienne Jr. had an okay day for the Jaguars as they were defeated 7-12 against the Minnesota Vikings. Etienne Jr. rushed for 44 yards on 11 carries and caught a reception for negative one yards. Etienne Jr. and the Jaguars’ offense need to find a way to step it up and earn more wins. Otherwise, the team will continue to drop games.
Kansas City Chiefs: Kareem Hunt: D+
Hunt had an okay day for the Chiefs, as they narrowly defeated the Denver Broncos 16-14. Hunt rushed for 35 yards on 14 carries and led the team in receiving yards with 65 yards on seven carries. Hunt and the Chiefs faced a tough Broncos defense, as the team’s rushing attack was held to a combined 57 yards on the ground. Hunt and the Chiefs travel to Western New York and will square off against the Buffalo Bills.
Las Vegas Raiders: Alexander Mattison: Bye Week
Mattison and the Raiders’ rushing attack needs to drastically step it up as the second half of the 2024 season is underway. The other problem Mattison has is the rest of the Raiders’ offense not being able to put it together in games, resulting in painful losses. Hopefully, Mattison and company will find a way to turn things around in week 11 when the Raiders square off against the Miami Dolphins in South Beach.
Los Angeles Chargers: Gus Edwards: C
Edwards had an okay afternoon for the Chargers, as they defeated the Tennessee Titans 27-17. Edwards rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries but didn’t score a touchdown. Edwards had a decent game in his 2024 NFL season debut and should fit nicely in the Chargers’ offense, similar to his former Baltimore Ravens teammate J.K. Dobbins. Edwards and the Bolts remain home for week 11 and will welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to town.
Los Angeles Rams: Kyren Williams: C
Williams had a decent Monday night for the Rams, even though they lost 15-23 against the Miami Dolphins. Williams rushed for 62 yards on 15 carries and caught five receptions for 20 yards, but didn’t score a touchdown and lost a fumble. A decent night on the ground, but Williams wasn’t able to sniff his way into the end zone. The Dolphins’ defense played very well against the Rams.
Miami Dolphins: De’Von Achane: D
Achane had a somewhat quiet night for the Dolphins, even though the team won 23-15 against the Los Angeles Rams. Achane rushed for 37 yards on 12 carries and caught five receptions for 15 yards. The Rams’ defense made it difficult for Achane to make solid runs, even though the Dolphins emerged victorious in the end. Achane and company return home for a week 11 showdown against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders.
Minnesota Vikings: Aaron Jones: B-
Jones had a nice afternoon for the Vikings as they narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 12-7. The well-known NFL running back rushed for 88 yards on 17 carries and caught two receptions for 13 yards but didn’t score any touchdowns. Despite Sam Darnold’s struggles in the game, Jones helped carry the offense to victory.
New England Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson: B-
Stevenson had a nice game for the Patriots, as they dismantled the Chicago Bears 19-3. Stevenson rushed for 74 yards on 20 carries and caught a reception for three yards. A decent afternoon for Stevenson, as it would’ve been nice to see him at least score a rushing touchdown like he did in week nine. Stevenson and the Patriots return home for a week 11 showdown against the Los Angeles Rams.
New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara: C-
Kamara had an okay game for the Saints as they stunned the Atlanta Falcons with a 20-17 victory over their NFC South rivals. Kamara rushed for 55 yards on 17 carries and caught five receptions for 54 yards. Kamara may have been a slight nonfactor in the game for the Saints, but he did help the team secure the win, which is all that matters.
New York Giants: Tyrone Tracy Jr.: B-
Tracy Jr. had a nice Sunday afternoon in Munich, Germany, even though he and the Giants fell 17-20 in overtime against the Carolina Panthers. Tracy Jr. rushed for 103 yards on 18 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught six receptions for 50 yards. Tracy Jr.’s performance was very good, but he did lose a fumble at the start of overtime, which was recovered by Josey Jewell of the Panthers and eventually the game-ending kick by Eddy Pineiro. Tracy Jr. and the Giants return to the United States and have a well-needed bye week for week 11.
New York Jets: Breece Hall: C-
As the Jets’ offense fell flat in their 6-31 loss against the Arizona Cardinals, Breece Hall tried to put in some effort on the ground. Hall rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries and caught four receptions for 31 yards. Despite Hall’s performance, the Jets’ offense fell apart in the second half of the game, as they were kept out of scoring range in the loss.
Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley: C
Barkley and the Eagles had a nice afternoon at AT&T Stadium as they demolished the Dallas Cowboys 34-6. Barkley rushed for 66 yards on 14 carries and caught a reception for 12 yards. A good afternoon for Barkley and the Eagles as they made very quick work of their struggling NFC East rivals.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris: C+
Harris had an okay day for the Steelers, as they narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 27-28. Harris rushed for 53 yards on 21 carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Harris and the Steelers may have won, but the Commanders’ defense put up a strong fight against them. Harris and company return home for a week 11 divisional showdown against the Baltimore Ravens.
San Francisco 49ers: Christian McCaffrey: C-
Welcome back, Christian McCaffrey, after missing the first half of the regular season due to Achilles tendonitis. McCaffrey made his 2024 season debut in the team’s 23-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCaffrey rushed for 39 yards on 13 carries and caught six receptions for 68 yards. A slow start to the ground was expected, as McCaffrey will potentially return to form in the coming weeks. McCaffrey and the 49ers return home as they get prepared to welcome the Seattle Seahawks for a Week 11 divisional showdown.
Seattle Seahawks: Kenneth Walker III: Bye Week
Walker III is a good running back, as he’s done everything he could to help the Seahawks out this NFL season. However, the Seahawks have been struggling and are currently 4-5. Hopefully, they can turn things around in week 11 as they get prepared to square off against the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, CA.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Bucky Irving: B-
Irving and the Bucs had a decent afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers but fell short in their 20-23 loss at home. Irving rushed for 73 yards on 13 carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught three receptions for 14 yards. Irving played well in the Bucs’ backfield, but dropping a game sucks. Luckily, Irving and the Bucs head into a bye week for week 11.
Tennessee Titans: Tony Pollard: C-
Pollard had a decent afternoon for the Titans, even as they lost a tough 17-27 battle against the Los Angeles Chargers. Pollard rushed for 44 yards on nine carries and caught four receptions for 19 yards. Pollard ran into a tough Chargers defense in a lackluster afternoon. Pollard and the Titans return home for a week 11 showdown against the visiting Minnesota Vikings.
Washington Commanders: Austin Ekeler: C+
Ekeler had a decent afternoon for the Commanders, even though they lost a very close 27-28 battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ekeler rushed for 44 yards on 13 yards, scored two touchdowns, and caught a reception for seven yards. The Commanders are missing Brian Robinson Jr. (who is recovering from a hamstring injury) even though Ekeler carried the team’s rushing attack with two touchdowns.
