Week eight was a very nice offensive week for tight ends on National Tight Ends Day. Tight ends, and their respective offenses went to work and helped their NFL teams earn very nice wins.
However, some offenses had a not-so-nice afternoon or nights as they struggled or attempted comebacks, which ultimately fell short. The NFL fans were certainly very pleased with this week’s production and team offenses as we continue to watch a very exciting 2024 season move fast and furious right before our eyes.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ offenses after week eight.
Which teams had the best offense in the entire NFL after week 8?
Arizona Cardinals: A-
The Cardinals’ offense had a very nice afternoon in South Beach, as they defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-27. Kyler Murray threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, James Conner rushed for 53 yards on 20 carries and scored a touchdown, Trey McBride caught nine receptions for 124 yards, Marvin Harrison Jr. had six receptions for 111 yards and scored a touchdown, and Michael Wilson caught five receptions for 31 yards and scored a touchdown. A very productive afternoon for the Redbirds’ offense as they came back from a 7-13 halftime deficit and won the game in last-second fashion, thanks to Chad Ryback’s heroic field goal kick at the very end of the game.
Atlanta Falcons: A-
The Falcons’ offense continued to heat up as they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-26. Kirk Cousins threw four touchdowns against no interceptions. Bijan Robinson rushed for 63 yards on 13 carries, caught six receptions for 37 yards, and scored a touchdown; Kyle Pitts caught four receptions for 91 yards and scored two touchdowns, and Darnell Mooney caught five receptions for 92 yards and scored a touchdown. For now, it will be a very nice afternoon for the Falcons’ offense as they maintain control of the NFC South. Both head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson deserve a lot of credit for their work making this NFL team’s offense a competitive unit.

Baltimore Ravens: B-
The Ravens’ offense put up a fight against the Cleveland Browns but came up short in their 24-29 loss on the road. Lamar Jackson threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Derrick Henry rushed for 73 yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown, Zay Flowers caught seven receptions for 115 yards, Nelson Agholor caught three receptions for 36 yards and scored a touchdown, and Mark Andrews caught five receptions for 36 yards and scored a touchdown. Despite the efforts on offense, the Ravens had trouble converting on third down as they were 2-10 on third down conversions and 0-2 on fourth down conversions all game long. The Ravens’ offense returns home for week nine as they get prepared to host the Denver Broncos.
Buffalo Bills: A-
The Bills’ offense went off like a rocket as they dismantled the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 on the road. Josh Allen threw two touchdowns against his first interception of the 2024 season, James Cook rushed for 111 yards on 17 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns, Khalil Shakir caught nine receptions for 107 yards, Keon Coleman caught five receptions for 70 yards and scored a touchdown, and Dalton Kincaid caught four receptions for 31 yards and scored a touchdown. The Bills’ offense is looking more and more electric as they dismantled the Seahawks’ defense. They return home for a week nine divisional rematch when the Miami Dolphins come to town.
Carolina Panthers: C-
The Panthers’ offense had no Andy Dalton, as he was out due to being involved in a car accident. Bryce Young stepped in and played fair, even though the Panthers lost 14-28 against the Denver Broncos. Young threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, Chuba Hubbard rushed for 56 yards on 15 carries, Jalen Coker caught four receptions for 78 yards and scored a touchdown, and Xavier Legette caught four receptions for 34 yards and scored a touchdown. Even though the Panthers’ offense has been dealing with injuries and struggles throughout the season, Young played well and was able to compete with a strong Broncos defense despite the loss. The Panthers’ offense returns home as they get ready to host the New Orleans Saints in a week nine divisional rematch.
Chicago Bears: C-
The Bears’ offense had their shining moments, even though they lost to the Washington Commanders 15-18 on the road in a walk-off fashion. Caleb Williams threw no touchdowns or interceptions but lost a fumble. D’Andre Swift had a great afternoon on the ground with 129 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, Roschon Johnson rushed for six yards on two carries and scored a rushing touchdown, and Rome Odunze caught three receptions for 41 yards. Despite Swift’s great performance, the Bears couldn’t secure the win, as they traveled west for another tough test against the up-and-coming Arizona Cardinals in the desert in week nine.
Cincinnati Bengals: C-
The Bengals’ offense started with a bang, as Ja’Marr Chase scored a touchdown, but all of that firepower fizzled as they lost a painful 17-37 battle against the Philadelphia Eagles. Joe Burrow threw a touchdown against an interception, Chase Brown rushed for 32 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown, Chase caught nine receptions for 54 yards and scored a touchdown, and Mike Gesicki caught seven receptions for 73 yards. The Bengals were also without Tee Higgins, who injured his quad in practice two days before the game. That certainly hurt the Bengals’ offense for the majority of the afternoon.

Cleveland Browns: B+
What a difference a week made! The Browns’ offense turned things around after weeks of struggles and snagged themselves a very nice 29-24 upset win over the Baltimore Ravens. Jameis Winston threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, Nick Chubb rushed for 52 yards on 16 carries, Cedric Tillman caught seven receptions for 99 yards and scored two touchdowns, and David Njoku caught five receptions for 61 yards and scored a touchdown. A great afternoon for the Browns’ offense, even after they traded away Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills and lost Deshaun Watson to an Achilles injury.
Dallas Cowboys: C-
The Cowboys’ offense started their Sunday night in Santa Clara, CA, slowly before attempting a comeback that fell short in their 24-30 loss against the San Francisco 49ers. Dak Prescott threw two touchdowns to CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliot rushed for 34 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown, and Lamb caught 13 receptions for 146 yards and scored two touchdowns. A great night for Lamb, but the Cowboys’ rushing attack was held to a mere 56 yards on the ground. The Cowboys’ efforts weren’t enough, as they will travel east for a week nine showdown against the Atlanta Falcons on the road.
Denver Broncos: B+
The Broncos’ offense had a very nice game as they defeated the woeful Carolina Panthers in a 28-14 win. Bo Nix threw three touchdowns against no interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown, Jaleel McLaughlin rushed for 47 yards on eight carries, caught a reception for nine yards, and scored a receiving touchdown, Cortland Sutton caught eight receptions for 100 yards, Adam Trautman caught four receptions for 85 yards and scored a touchdown, and Nate Atkins caught a reception for three yards and scored a touchdown. The Broncos’ offense played very well, even though the run game should’ve had more rushing yards against the struggling Panthers’ defense. This NFL team’s offense will be tested in week nine when they square off against the Baltimore Ravens on the road.
Detroit Lions: A
The Lions’ offense had a very dominating afternoon as they clobbered the Tennessee Titans 52-14. Jared Goff threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, David Montgomery rushed for 33 yards on nine carries, scored a rushing touchdown, and threw a touchdown pass to Sam LaPorta, while Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 127 yards on 11 carries and scored a touchdown. LaPorta caught 48 receptions for six yards and scored a touchdown. Kalif Raymond caught two receptions for 14 yards, scored a touchdown, returned five punts for 190 yards, and scored a punt-return touchdown; Brock Wright caught a reception for eight yards and scored a touchdown, and Amon-Ra St. Brown caught two receptions for seven yards and scored a touchdown. A very dominating afternoon for this NFL team’s offense, as the Titans’ defense had no answers on how to stop them.
Green Bay Packers: B+
The Packers’ offense took some hits as they narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-27 in the final seconds of the game via a Brandon McManus field goal. Jordan Love threw an interception against no touchdowns but left the game with a groin injury as Malik Willis stepped up and threw a touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft. Josh Jacobs rushed for 127 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns, and Romeo Doubs caught three receptions for 72 yards. A good afternoon for the Packers’ offense, even though losing Love to a groin injury is going to sting if he’s out long-term.
Houston Texans: B+
The Texans’ offense played well as they won a very close 23-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. C.J. Stroud threw a touchdown to Tank Dell against no interceptions, Joe Mixon rushed for 102 yards on 25 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, Dell caught four receptions for 35 yards and scored a touchdown, and Stefon Diggs caught five receptions for 81 yards, but left the game with a non-contact knee injury. Losing Diggs to this injury is a sign of concern, as the team still doesn’t have Nico Collins. If Diggs is out long-term, the rest of the receiver depth needs to step up. Regardless, the Texans’ offense looked very good, and they have to get prepared for a week nine road trip against the New York Jets on Halloween.
Indianapolis Colts: D+
Anthony Richardson didn’t play a good game, while the rest of the Colts’ offense played okay in their 20-23 loss to the Houston Texans on the road. Richardson threw a touchdown against an interception, Jonathan Taylor rushed for 105 yards on 20 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, Josh Downs caught four receptions for 109 yards and scored a touchdown, and Michael Pittman Jr. caught a reception for 16 yards. Richardson’s poor play and tiring out should show fans a sign of concern as fans and former Colts players like Pat McAfee are starting to get fed up. The Colts continue their road trip as they travel north for a Sunday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on the road.
Jacksonville Jaguars: B-
The Jaguars’ offense played well as they attempted a comeback against the Green Bay Packers but ultimately fell 27-30 in the final seconds of the game. Trevor Lawrence threw two touchdowns against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, Tank Bigsby rushed for 78 yards on 18 carries, Brian Thomas Jr. caught three receptions for 60 yards and scored a touchdown, and Evan Engram caught four receptions for 36 yards and scored a touchdown. Thomas Jr. left the game with a chest injury late in the third quarter, while the bigger loss for the Jaguars’ offense came when Christian Kirk suffered a season-ending broken collar bone. With Thomas Jr. out for some time and Kirk out for the rest of the season, Ingram, Brenton Strange, and the rest of the Jaguars’ passing attack are going to have to step up.
Kansas City Chiefs: B+
The Chiefs’ offense played one of their better games of the NFL season as the team won against the Las Vegas Raiders 27-20 in Sin City. Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdowns against an interception, Kareem Hunt rushed for 59 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown, Travis Kelce caught 10 receptions for 90 yards and scored a touchdown, and Xavier Worthy caught four receptions for 37 yards and scored a touchdown. A good afternoon for this team’s offense, as they also got to see newly acquired DeAndre Hopkins catch two receptions for 29 yards as the unit looks to get stronger in the second half of the 2024 NFL season.
Las Vegas Raiders: D+
The Raiders’ offense tried to put up a fight against their AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, but heartbreakingly fell short 20-27. Gardner Minshew may have thrown two touchdowns against no interceptions but was sacked five times, the Raiders’ rushing attack was held to a mere 33 yards all game long, Brock Bowers caught five receptions for 58 yards, Jakobi Meyers caught six receptions for 52 yards and scored a touchdown, and DJ Turner caught four receptions for 28 yards and scored a touchdown. A rough afternoon for the Silver and Black as they played a close matchup against the Chiefs, which ended up not being enough as minor mistakes affected the team throughout the game.
Los Angeles Chargers: B+
The Chargers’ offense had a rebound performance in their 26-8 dominant victory over the New Orleans Saints. Justin Herbert threw two touchdowns to Ladd McConkey against no interceptions, J.K. Dobbins rushed for 57 yards on 17 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, McConkey caught six receptions for 111 yards and scored two touchdowns. It was a nice afternoon for the Chargers’ offense, as they made the best of it with who’s currently healthy on the roster, and they must keep this momentum when they travel east for a week nine road showdown against the Cleveland Browns.
Los Angeles Rams: B+
The Rams’ offense had a very nice Thursday night as they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 30-20. Matthew Stafford threw four touchdowns against an interception, Kyren Williams rushed for 97 yards on 23 carries and scored a receiving touchdown, Puka Nacua returned to action and caught seven receptions for 106 yards, Cooper Kupp was also back in the lineup and caught five receptions for 51 yards and scored a touchdown, and Demarcus Robinson caught two receptions for 35 yards and scored two touchdowns. With Nacua and Kupp back in the lineup, the Rams’ offense should be able to return to their winning ways in a very competitive NFC West.
Miami Dolphins: C+
Tua Tagovailoa has returned to action, as he and the Dolphins’ offense had a good afternoon statistically, but they lost to the Arizona Cardinals 27-28 in the last few seconds of the game. Tagovailoa threw a touchdown against no interceptions, De’Von Achane rushed for 97 yards on 10 carries, caught six receptions for 50 yards, and scored a receiving touchdown, Raheem Mostert rushed for 19 yards on nine carries and scored two rushing touchdowns, and Tyreek Hill caught six receptions for 72 yards and scored a touchdown. A good afternoon for the Dolphins’ offense, but the team’s defense fell flat and ultimately lost the game, in Tagavailoa’s first game back since week two.
Minnesota Vikings: C-
The Vikings’ offense started the first quarter hot, as they scored 14 points against the Los Angeles Rams, but ended up losing 20-30 in a controversial game. Sam Darnold threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Aaron Jones rushed for 58 yards on 19 carries, Justin Jefferson caught eight receptions for 115 yards, Josh Oliver caught two receptions for 30 yards and scored a touchdown, and Trent Sherfield Sr. caught a reception for 10 yards and scored a touchdown. Despite all the Vikings could do on offense, Byron Young sacked Darnold in the end zone with 1:38 left in the game and dragged him down by the face mask, which should’ve been called by the refs but was missed, resulting in a safety when it should’ve been a 15-yard penalty. Hopefully, the Vikings’ offense can find a way to bounce back in week nine when they host the Indianapolis Colts.
New England Patriots: C
The Patriots offense had a decent afternoon as they snagged a 25-22 upset win over the New York Jets. Drake Maye scored a rushing touchdown for the Pats but left the game with a concussion, while Jacoby Brissett took over. Brissett didn’t throw any touchdowns or interceptions, Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 48 yards on 20 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns, Kayshon Boutte caught three receptions for 46 yards, and Hunter Henry caught five receptions for 45 yards. The Patriots’ offense kept things close and consistent and ultimately won out in upset fashion.
New Orleans Saints: D-
The Saints’ offense looked abysmal, as they fell flat in their 8-26 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. Spencer Rattler threw no touchdowns or interceptions, was sacked three times, and was benched for Jake Haener, who didn’t help the Saints much during the loss. Alvin Kamara rushed for 67 yards on 10 carries, and Chris Olave caught eight receptions for 107 yards. Despite Olave’s performance, the Saints’ offense had a rough afternoon and struggled against the Chargers for the majority of the game.
New York Giants: D+
The Giants’ offense had a very slow and sloppy start before attempting a failed comeback in their 18-26 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Daniel Jones threw an interception and lost a fumble, Tyrone Tracy Jr. (who was one of the Giants’ lone bright spots) rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries and scored a touchdown, Darius Slayton caught four receptions for 108 yards, and Malik Nabers caught seven receptions for 71 yards. The Giants’ offense made too many small, boneheaded mistakes, and it cost them a win. The Giants return home as they get set to host the Washington Commanders in week nine.
New York Jets: C-
The Jets’ offense had a decent afternoon against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, MA, but couldn’t get the win in their 22-25 loss on the road. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Breece Hall rushed for 80 yards on 16 carries, Braleon Allen rushed for 32 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown, Garrett Wilson caught five receptions for 113 yards, Davante Adams caught four receptions for 54 yards, Tyler Conklin caught three receptions for 42 yards and scored a touchdown, and Xavier Gipson caught a reception for a yard and scored a touchdown. With the Jets’ offense currently sitting with a 2-6 record, it looks like another lost season for Gang Green, even with Rodgers and all of the offensive talent.
Philadelphia Eagles: A-
The Eagles’ offense went to work as they sped past the Cincinnati Bengals 37-17. Jalen Hurts threw a touchdown to DeVonta Smith against no interceptions and scored three rushing touchdowns, Saquon Barkley rushed for 108 yards on 22 carries, Smith caught six receptions for 85 yards and scored a touchdown in the third quarter, and A.J. Brown caught five receptions for 84 yards. A solid day for the Eagles’ offense as they look to compete for the NFC East crown against the Washington Commanders.
Pittsburgh Steelers: B-
The Steelers’ offense started their Monday night slowly in the first half with field goals until the second half when Russell Wilson and the offense started to cook along with special teams as they defeated the woeful New York Giants 26-18. Wilson threw a touchdown against no interceptions but lost a fumble, Najee Harris rushed for 114 yards on 19 carries, George Pickens caught four receptions for 74 yards, and Calvin Austin III caught three receptions for 54 yards and scored a touchdown, along with running a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown. Despite the slow start, Wilson knows how to cook, and he and the Steelers’ offense cooked up a nice win over the Giants as this NFL team heads into their week nine bye week.
San Francisco 49ers: B
The 49ers’ offense may be missing key guys like Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk, who are on injured reserve, but they managed to come away with a nice 30-24 victory at home against the Dallas Cowboys. Brock Purdy threw a touchdown to George Kittle against no interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown, Issac Guerendo rushed for 85 yards on 14 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, Deebo Samuel caught four receptions for 71 yards, but left the game with a rib injury, and Kittle caught six receptions for 128 yards and scored a touchdown. Kittle had an amazing performance at home, while Brock Purdy is doing everything he can to ensure the 49ers have a shot at returning to the playoffs for a fourth straight season.
Seattle Seahawks: D-
The Seahawks’ offense had a rough afternoon as they lost 10-31 against the Buffalo Bills at home. Geno Smith threw an interception against no touchdowns, the Seahawks’ rushing attack was held to a mere 32 rushing yards all game long, with Zach Charbonnet rushing for four yards on three carries and scoring the team’s only touchdown, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba catching six receptions for 69 yards. A rough afternoon for the Seahawks as the offensive line also had a rocky start and failed to help the run game generate yardage and got Smith sacked once. The Seahawks continue their home stand when they welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to town in week nine.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: C-
The Bucs’ offense fell to the Atlanta Falcons 26-31 and doesn’t feel the same without Mike Evans or Chris Godwin in the lineup. Baker Mayfield threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, Bucky Irvin rushed for 44 yards on nine carries, Rachaad White rushed for 29 yards on six carries, caught five receptions for 38 yards, and scored a touchdown, and Cade Otton caught nine receptions for 81 yards and scored two touchdowns. Otton played very well, while the rest of the Bucs’ defense had a rough afternoon and fell to their division rivals at home.
Tennessee Titans: D
The Titans’ offense had a rough day against the Detroit Lions in the Motor City as they were run over and flattened 14-52. Mason Rudolph threw a touchdown against two interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown, Tony Pollard rushed for 94 yards on 20 carries, Calvin Ridley caught 10 receptions for 143 yards, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine caught two receptions for 39 yards and scored a touchdown. Despite the good performances from Pollard and Ridley, it was a painful afternoon for the Titans’ offense as they were shut out in the second half by the Lions’ defense. Tight end Nick Vannett said the Titans need to be better with their sideline energy after things go flat.
Washington Commanders: A-
The Commanders’ offense had a very nice afternoon as they defeated the Chicago Bears 18-15 in walk-off fashion. Jayden Daniels threw a touchdown against no interceptions, Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 65 yards on 16 carries, Terry McLaurin caught five receptions for 125 yards, Zach Ertz caught seven receptions for 77 yards, and Noah Brown caught three receptions for 73 yards and scored the walk-off touchdown to seal the deal for the Commanders victory at home. An impressive win for the Commanders as they get prepared for their road trip to MetLife Stadium for a week nine divisional rematch against the New York Giants.
