Week five saw some very exciting offensive performances, whether NFL teams pulled off impressive come-from-behind wins or dominated all game long. However, some offenses imploded against opposing defenses and struggled to earn the win they wanted. Regardless, this was a wild week for NFL teams’ offenses. We are left craving more performances like this in week six and beyond.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ offenses after week five.
Which teams had the best offense in the entire NFL after week five?
Arizona Cardinals: B+
The Cardinals’ offense played a great game and came from behind to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 24-23. Kyler Murray threw a touchdown against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, James Conner rushed for 86 yards on 19 carries, Michael Wilson caught five receptions for 78 yards, Marvin Harrison Jr. caught two receptions for 36 yards, and Elijah Higgins caught a reception for two yards and scored a touchdown. The Cardinals’ offense was able to climb out of a 23-10 deficit while the 49ers imploded. The Cards pulled out the win in the very end.
Atlanta Falcons: A-
The Falcons’ offense came to life as they played a very competitive back-and-forth matchup, resulting in a 36-30 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kirk Cousins threw for over 500 yards and threw four touchdowns against an interception, Bijan Robinson rushed for 61 yards on 12 carries, Drake London caught 12 receptions for 154 yards and scored a touchdown, Darnell Mooney caught nine receptions for 105 yards and scored two touchdowns, Kyle Pitts caught seven receptions for 88 yards, and KhaDarel Hodge caught two receptions for 67 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime. A great performance by the Falcons’ offense as they showed their divisional foes that the NFC South potentially belongs to them.
Baltimore Ravens: A-

The Ravens’ offense had an electric afternoon as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in a 41-38 overtime thriller. Lamar Jackson threw four touchdowns against no interceptions. Derrick Henry rushed for 92 yards on 15 carries and scored a touchdown but gave up a safety. Zay Flowers caught seven receptions for 111 yards, Charlie Kolar caught three receptions for 64 yards and scored a touchdown, Rashod Bateman caught four receptions for 58 yards and scored a touchdown, and Isaiah Likely caught three receptions for 13 yards and scored two touchdowns. The Ravens’ run game was very strong. It was also great to see the Ravens’ passing attack back in action. However, it would’ve been very nice to see Flowers and Mark Andrews score touchdowns in the game.
Buffalo Bills: C+
The Bills’ offense played better in their very close 20-23, last-second, week five loss to the Houston Texans. Josh Allen threw a touchdown against no interceptions, James Cook rushed for 82 yards on 20 carries and scored a touchdown, and Keon Coleman caught one reception for 49 yards and scored a touchdown. The Bills’ offense was also without Khalil Shakir, who was dealing with an ankle injury. He potentially would’ve made some good plays. Josh Allen was knocked out and taken off the field. He came back in after using smelling salts, which has gotten a ton of backlash. Hopefully, the Bills can turn their losing streak around and earn more wins.
Carolina Panthers: D
The Panthers’ offense had a painful afternoon, as they were stomped on by the Chicago Bears 10-36. Andy Dalton threw an interception against no touchdowns and was sacked three times, Chubba Hubbard rushed for 97 yards on 13 carries and scored the team’s only touchdown, and Jalen Cooker caught four receptions for 68 yards. A very rough day for the Panthers. They need to step up and rebound if they want to stay relevant in the NFC South.
Chicago Bears: B+
The Bears’ offense had a very nice afternoon as they crushed the Carolina Panthers 36-10 at home. Caleb Williams threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, D’Andre Swift rushed for 73 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown, Roschon Johnson rushed for 25 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns, and DJ Moore caught five receptions for 105 yards and scored two touchdowns. A strong day from Swift and Moore as Williams continues to slowly improve despite going up against one of the NFL’s weakest defenses, the Panthers. The Bears’ offense now has to prepare for their week six road trip abroad to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in week six.
Cincinnati Bengals: B-
The Bengals’ offense played a hard and physical battle against the Baltimore Ravens as they lost 38-41 in an overtime thriller. Joe Burrow threw five touchdowns against one interception, Chase Brown rushed for 46 yards on 10 carries, caught three receptions for eight yards, and scored a receiving touchdown, Ja’Marr Chase caught 10 receptions for 193 yards and scored two touchdowns, and Tee Higgins caught nine receptions for 83 yards and scored two touchdowns. A strong showing from the Bengals’ offense in the back-and-forth battle despite coming up short in overtime.

Cleveland Browns: D
The Browns’ offense was a sloppy mess as they were defeated 13-34 on the road against the Washington Commanders. Deshaun Watson threw a touchdown against no interceptions but was sacked seven times, Jerome Ford rushed for 47 yards on nine carries, Amari Cooper caught four receptions for 60 yards, and Jordan Akins caught three receptions for 22 yards and scored a touchdown. The more Watson struggles, the more he continues to hold the rest of the Browns’ offense back from their true potential in the NFL as well as running into a fierce Commanders’ defense. On top of that, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Watson will continue to be the starter moving forward.
Dallas Cowboys: B-
The Cowboys started their Sunday night game slowly, but they were able to turn things around and defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-17 in the final seconds of the game. Dak Prescott threw two touchdowns against two interceptions, Rico Dowdle rushed for 87 yards on 20 carries, caught two receptions for 27 yards, and scored a receiving touchdown, and Jalen Tobert caught seven receptions for 87 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown. As they say, it’s not how you start a game but rather how you finish the game. The Cowboys’ offense showed they can put up a fight, to the end, against one of the league’s best defenses.
Denver Broncos: B-
The Broncos’ offense had a good Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-18. Bo Nix threw two touchdowns against no interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown. Javonte Williams rushed for 61 yards on 13 carries and caught five receptions for 50 yards. Lil’Jordan Humphrey caught two receptions for 48 yards, and Josh Reynolds caught a reception for nine yards and scored a touchdown. It was not the best day for the Broncos’ passing attack, even though Nix and the rest of the offense helped secure the win over the Raiders.
Detroit Lions: Bye Week
The Lions’ offense needs to keep playing like they did in week four as they get set for their week six road trip against the Dallas Cowboys.
Green Bay Packers: B+
The Packers’ offense rebounded from week four and had a very nice 24-19 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in week five. Jordan Love threw two touchdowns against an interception, Josh Jacobs rushed for 73 yards on 19 carries and finally scored his first touchdown of the 2024 season, and Tucker Kraft caught four receptions for 88 yards and scored two touchdowns. A solid afternoon for the Packers’ offense, as they kept their feet on the gas pedal for the majority of the game.
Houston Texans: B
The Texans’ offense played well despite losing their 17-3 halftime lead to the Buffalo Bills. At the end of the match, they were able to pull it out with a 23-20 win against the Bills. C.J. Stroud threw a touchdown against an interception, Cam Akers rushed for 42 yards on nine carries and scored a touchdown, Stefon Diggs caught 82 receptions for six yards, and Nico Collins caught two receptions for 78 yards and scored a touchdown but left the game with a hamstring injury. Losing Collins is going to hurt, but the Texans have to carry on and move forward as they get set for their week six matchup against the New England Patriots on the road.
Indianapolis Colts: C+
The Colts’ offense put up a good fight against their AFC South rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars, but came up short in a 34-37 loss. Joe Flacco threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, Trey Sermon rushed for 38 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown, Alec Pierce caught three receptions for 134 yards and scored a touchdown, Mo Allie-Cox caught two receptions for 37 yards and scored a touchdown, and Michael Pittman Jr. caught five receptions for 37 yards and scored a touchdown. The Colts’ offense was also without Jonathan Taylor, who was dealing with a high ankle sprain. That certainly had a significant impact on the rushing attack. However, Pierce had a great game despite the Colts losing a thriller.
Jacksonville Jaguars: B+
The Jaguars’ offense finally was able to lead their team to their first win of the 2024 season with a very close 37-34 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Trevor Lawrence threw two touchdowns against one interception, Tank Bigsby rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns, Brian Thomas Jr. caught five receptions for 122 yards and scored a touchdown, and Brenton Strange caught four receptions for 24 yards and scored a touchdown. A nice performance by the Jaguars’ offense during their NFL clash. Finally, they earned their first win of the season. The Jaguars now must build upon this win as they travel abroad to London for their week six matchup against the Chicago Bears. Can they rally the momentum?
Kansas City Chiefs: B+
The Chiefs’ offense may have some trouble in the passing game as they lost Rashee Rice to season-ending LCL surgery, even as they continue to win games and dominate their opponents like they did against the New Orleans Saints in their 26-13 victory. Patrick Mahomes threw an interception against no touchdowns. Kareem Hunt rushed for 102 yards on 24 yards and scored a touchdown. Xavier Worthy rushed for three yards on a carry, scored a touchdown, and caught three receptions for 25 yards; Juju Smith-Schuster caught seven receptions for 130 yards, and Travis Kelce caught nine receptions for 70 yards and scored a touchdown. The Chiefs’ offense clicked very nicely, even though Patrick Mahomes didn’t throw a single touchdown all game.
Las Vegas Raiders: D
The Raiders’ offense struggled on the road, as they lost a tough 18-34 battle against the Denver Broncos. Gardner Minshew threw a touchdown against two interceptions, Ameer Abdullah rushed for 42 yards on five carries and scored a rushing touchdown, Brock Bowers caught eight receptions for 97 yards and scored a touchdown, and Jakobi Meyers caught six receptions for 72 yards. Bowers was a bright spot for the Raiders on offense, despite the team’s struggles from Gardner Minshew being benched for Aidan O’Connell and Davante Adams wanting a trade out of Sin City.
Los Angeles Chargers: Bye Week
The Chargers’ offense needs to get back on track, keep their momentum in NFL games after the first quarter, and make sure Justin Herbert stays healthy. The Chargers head to the desert and will square off against the Arizona Cardinals in week six.
Los Angeles Rams: C-
The Rams’ offense had a very inconsistent afternoon, as they fell to the Green Bay Packers 19-24. Matthew Stafford threw a touchdown against an interception, Kyren Williams rushed for 102 yards on 22 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, Jordan Whittington caught seven receptions for 89 yards, and Demarcus Robinson caught three receptions for 28 yards and scored a touchdown. The Rams’ offense was ineffective in the first and third quarters of the game, as the Packers’ defense made things tough for them. This counts as their third loss of the season, where they lost in a one-score game.
Miami Dolphins: D+
The Dolphins’ offense rebounded after their week five Monday Night Football meltdown with an ugly 15-10 victory over the New England Patriots. Tyler Huntley threw an interception against no touchdowns, Jaylen Wright rushed for 86 yards on 13 carries, Alec Ingold rushed for three yards on a carry and scored the team’s only touchdown, and Tyreek Hill caught six receptions for 69 yards in the afternoon. An ugly game for the Dolphins, but they snagged their second win of the 2024 season.
Minnesota Vikings: B-
The Vikings’ offense may not have scored touchdowns, but they managed to put up a fight and defeated the New York Jets 23-17. Sam Darnold threw an interception against no touchdowns but was sacked four times, C.J. Ham rushed for 10 yards on two carries and scored a touchdown, and Justin Jefferson caught six receptions for 92 yards. A great performance by Jefferson nonetheless, but the Vikings’ offense took a hit when Aaron Jones left the game with a hip injury, and Darnold played an ugly game despite getting the win. Luckily for the Vikings’ offense, they’ll be on a bye week in week six this NFL season.
New England Patriots: D
The Patriots’ offense looked very sloppy in their 10-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Jacoby Brissett threw no touchdowns or interceptions, Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 89 yards on 12 carries and scored the Pats’ only touchdown, and DeMario Douglas caught six receptions for 59 yards. A very sloppy afternoon for the Patriots’ offense. They have a lot more work ahead of them as they welcome the Houston Texans to town come week six.
New Orleans Saints: C-
The Saints’ offense had a decent night, which turned rough as they lost a brutal game against the Kansas City Chiefs 13-26. Derek Carr threw two touchdowns against an interception but left the game with an oblique injury; the Saints’ rushing attack was held to 46 yards all game; Rashid Shaheed caught four receptions for 86 yards and scored a touchdown, and Foster Moreau caught two receptions for 31 yards and scored a touchdown. Despite a good performance from Shaheed, losing Carr is going to hurt the Saints moving forward. Especially when the Saints return home and host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week six.
New York Giants: B
The Giants’ offense played fairly well in their 29-20 upset victory against the Seattle Seahawks on the road. Daniel Jones threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushed for 129 yards on 18 yards, Darius Slayton caught eight receptions for 122 yards and scored a touchdown, and Wan’Don Robinson caught six receptions for 36 yards and scored a touchdown. A great game by the Giants’ offense, without Malik Nabers, as he was recovering from his concussion. Jones managed to keep the ball from getting intercepted by the Seahawks’ defense. Jones and company return home for a Sunday night showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals in week six.
New York Jets: D+
The Jets’ offense had a rough trip abroad, as they fell to the Minnesota Vikings 17-23 despite attempting a comeback. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns against three interceptions, Breece Hall rushed for 23 yards on nine carries, Garrett Wilson caught 13 receptions for 101 yards and scored a touchdown, and Allen Lazard caught four receptions for 34 yards and scored a touchdown. Even though Wilson shined despite the loss, Rodgers played with a low ankle sprain, and the Jets’ rushing attack was held to 36 yards on the ground all game. A loss is always hard, but it certainly stings a bit more when it happens in London.
Philadelphia Eagles: Bye Week
The Eagles’ offense had a rough week four, and they need to rebound in their week six matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Some good news for the Eagles is they’re expected to have DeVonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Lane Johnson back for that game.
Pittsburgh Steelers: D+
The Steelers’ offense didn’t have their best game of the season as they fell to the Dallas Cowboys 17-20. Justin Fields threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Najee Harris rushed for 42 yards on 14 carries, Connor Heyward caught two receptions for 23 yards and scored a touchdown, and Pat Freiermuth caught three receptions for 22 yards and scored a touchdown. It was a tough day for the Steeler’s offense as the run and passing attack struggled while Justin Fields did whatever he could in the loss.
San Francisco 49ers: C-
The 49ers’ offense started strong, as they were up 23-10 at halftime against the Arizona Cardinals, but the offense imploded in the second half of their NFL clash as they lost 23-24. Brock Purdy threw a touchdown against two interceptions, Jordan Mason rushed for 89 yards on 14 carries, Brandon Aiyuk caught eight receptions for 147 yards, and George Kittle caught eight receptions for 64 yards and scored a touchdown. A tough afternoon for the 49ers’ offense. They need to move on and rebound quickly if they want to regain control of the NFC West against the Seattle Seahawks in week six.
Seattle Seahawks: C-
The Seahawks’ offense had a rough afternoon as they lost 20-29 to the New York Giants at home. Geno Smith threw a touchdown against no interceptions and rushed for 72 yards on four carries but was sacked seven times. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 19 yards on five carries, Tyler Lockett caught four receptions for 75 yards, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught four receptions for 31 yards and scored a touchdown. A horrible afternoon for the Seahawks’ running backs, as the Giants’ defense made things miserable for the Seahawks in a very competitive matchup.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: B
Despite falling 30-36 in overtime, the Buccaneers’ offense put up a very strong fight until the end. Baker Mayfield threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, Rachaad White rushed for 72 yards on 10 carries, Chris Godwin caught five receptions for 64 yards, Mike Evans caught five receptions for 62 yards and scored two touchdowns, and Sterling Shepard caught one reception for four yards and scored a touchdown. A strong effort by the Bucs’ offense as Mayfield showed great leadership throughout the game, even though the team only made two field goals in the second half of the game. The Bucs’ offense will rebound from this loss.
Tennessee Titans: Bye Week
Even though the Titans’ offense has struggled all NFL season, they have shown sparks of life with Tony Pollard leading the way on the ground. The Titans’ offense is going to need all hands on deck as they welcome the Indianapolis Colts to town in week six.
Washington Commanders: B+
The Commanders’ offense played very well as they defeated the Cleveland Browns 34-13. Jayden Daniels threw a touchdown against an interception, Jeremy McNichols rushed for 44 yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown, Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 18 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns, Terry McLaurin caught four receptions for 112 yards, and Dyami Brown caught two receptions for 57 yards and scored a touchdown. The Commanders’ offense played very well and cruised to a very strong victory over their woeful NFL opponent, the Browns. They have solidified a very comfortable record in the NFC East.
