Week 11 was a wild and intense week for NFL head coaches, as they came up with great game plans, which resulted in their teams either winning intense games or losing very close battles.
It’s hard to tell who’ll win Coach of the Year as of recently, but we can tell who is very likely going to get the boot from their jobs by the end of the 2024 season if they cannot figure out how to tweak the playbook and turn around the losses and the struggles. There are only a few more precious weeks to go until the season concludes in January, so buckle up because more football will be played.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams’ head coaches after week 11 games.
Who are the top NFL head coaches after week 11 of games?
Arizona Cardinals: Jonathan Gannon: Bye Week
Gannon has done a very good job leading the Cardinals to a surprise first-place start… so far. Kyler Murray has been playing well, and having Marvin Harrison Jr. out on the field has helped him out. Gannon and the Redbirds return to action in week 12 when they square off against the Seattle Seahawks on the road.
Atlanta Falcons: Raheem Morris: D
Morris’ Falcons fell flat, as they lost 6-38 against the Denver Broncos in painful fashion. Kirk Cousins threw an interception against no touchdowns, the Falcons’ rushing attack was held to a combined 50 yards, and Drake London had 61 receiving yards. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake, had one sack and two pass deflections but no turnovers. An awful afternoon for Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson. Would certainly like to put this one in the rearview mirror, as they couldn’t get anything moving against the Broncos. The Falcons luckily have a bye week in week 12 for a chance to regroup for week 13.

Baltimore Ravens: John Harbaugh: C
Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Todd Monken had a tough afternoon as the Ravens lost 16-18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lamar Jackson threw a touchdown to Zay Flowers against an interception, Derrick Henry scored a rushing touchdown, and Isaiah Likely had 75 receiving yards. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Zach Orr, had four sacks and an interception.
Monken’s offense lacked any explosiveness, and the Steelers’ defense just outperformed on the day. Harbaugh and the Ravens were additionally undone by Justin Tucker, who missed three field goals, which definitely hurt the team. Harbaugh and the Ravens travel to the West Coast for a week 12 showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
Buffalo Bills: Sean McDermott: A-
Bills Head Coach McDermott pulled off their biggest win of the 2024 NFL regular season as they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 30-21. Josh Allen threw a touchdown against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, James Cook scored two rushing touchdowns, and Curtis Samuel scored a touchdown.
The defense, coached by McDermott and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich, had two sacks and two interceptions against Patrick Mahomes. McDermott coaching over the team that gave the Chiefs their first loss since Christmas of 2023 is a massive accomplishment as the Bills head into their week 12 bye week.
Carolina Panthers: Dave Canales: Bye Week
Canales’ Panthers have struggled for most of the season so far. Even though the Panthers are currently on a two-game winning streak, the team has dealt with injuries on the defensive side of the ball. However, the silver lining is that Bryce Young has been slowly improving, and Chuba Hubbard has been playing very well in the backfield.
Chicago Bears: Matt Eberflus: D+
Eberflus’ Bears played a much better game than what we saw back in week 10, but coaching was a factor in the outcome, as they lost 19-20 against the Green Bay Packers. Caleb Williams threw no touchdowns or interceptions, Rome Odunze had 65 receiving yards, and D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson both scored rushing touchdowns. The defense had a sack and interception on the day.
Eberflus had an opportunity to position the Bears to victory rather than let the clock wind down for Cairo Santos’ 46-yard field goal attempt, which was blocked by Packers’ defensive end Karl Brooks. Eberflus’s time in Chicago is running down, as the Bears have a lot of work to do in the 2025 offseason.
Cincinnati Bengals: Zac Taylor: C
Taylor’s Bengals played a very competitive battle against the Los Angeles Chargers, but the team came up short in their 27-34 loss in Hollywood. Joe Burrow threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, Chase Brown had 86 rushing yards, Tee Higgins scored a touchdown, and Ja’Marr Chase scored two touchdowns. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, had two sacks and a fumble recovery.
After the game, Chase expressed his frustrations with Taylor by saying, “How do I do it? I don’t know. Ask Zac. Ask the coaches. Don’t ask me. It’s not my job. I play football on the field. I don’t call plays for us. So I can’t really do nothing.” If the Bengals keep dropping key games, they might need to make a change to head coach and find a better fit for the job for the 2025 season. Taylor and the Bengals luckily enter a bye week in week 12.

Cleveland Browns: Kevin Stefanski: D+
Stefanski’s Browns tried to put up a fight against the New Orleans Saints, but they lost a tough 14-35 battle in the Superdome. Jameis Winston threw for over 395 yards and threw two touchdowns to Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore, while Nick Chubb had 50 rushing yards. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, had a sack, an interception, and a fumble recovery. Stefanski’s team had no answers on how to slow down Taysom Hill, who scored three rushing touchdowns against the Browns. Stefanski and the Browns return home and will welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers to town in week 12.
Dallas Cowboys: Mike McCarthy: D
McCarthy’s Cowboys are falling apart faster than a game of Jenga as they lost 10-34 against the Houston Texans. Cooper Rush threw a touchdown against an interception and was sacked five times. The Cowboys’ rushing attack was held to 64 yards, CeeDee Lamb had 93 receiving yards, and KaVontae Turpin scored a touchdown. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, had a sack and an interception.
The Cowboys lack enthusiasm, and another loss at home adds fire to McCarthy’s head coaching seat, as change is needed for a fresh start in the 2025 NFL season for the Cowboys. McCarthy also made a head-scratching call to have a fake punt, which backfired and set the Texans up for their first touchdown of the night. McCarthy and the Cowboys travel east to the nation’s capital for a week 12 divisional showdown against the Washington Commanders.
Denver Broncos: Sean Payton: A-
Payton’s Broncos had themselves a field day as they dismantled the Atlanta Falcons 38-6. Bo Nix threw four touchdowns against no interceptions, Javonte Williams scored a rushing touchdown, and Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Marvin Mims, Nate Adkins, and Troy Franklin each scored touchdowns. The defense, coached by Vance Joseph, had four sacks and an interception. A great afternoon for Payton and company, as Nix is starting to surge in a positive direction. Payton and the Broncos travel west to Sin City in week 12 for a divisional matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Detroit Lions: Dan Campbell: A
Campbell and the Lions looked like they had a practice session as they dismantled the Jacksonville Jaguars 52-6. Jared Goff threw four touchdowns against no interceptions, Jahmyr Gibbs scored a rushing touchdown, David Montgomery scored two touchdowns, Amon-Ra St. Brown scored two touchdowns, and Jameson Williams and Brock Wright both scored touchdowns.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, had a sack and interception and held the Jaguars’ rushing attack to a combined 41 yards on the ground. Campbell said the team came together and showed excellent willpower as they made quick work of the Jaguars.
Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur: B+
LeFleur’s Packers played a very close and competitive battle against their NFC North rivals, the Chicago Bears, and won 20-19, thanks to defensive end Karl Brooks blocking Bears’ kicker Cairo Santos’ field goal attempt. Jordan Love threw a touchdown to Jayden Reed against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, while Josh Jacobs also scored a rushing touchdown.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Jeff Hatley, had three sacks against Caleb Williams but no interceptions. LeFleur praised the team’s resilience in their wild roller coaster of a game. LeFleur and the Packers return home and will welcome the San Francisco 49ers to town in week 12.
Houston Texans: DeMeco Ryans: B+
Ryans’ Texans earned themselves a very nice 34-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. C.J. Stroud threw an interception against no touchdowns, Joe Mixon scored three rushing touchdowns, and Nico Collins and Tank Dell both had 54 receiving yards. The defense, coached by Ryans and defensive coordinator Matt Burke, had five sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery, which was returned by Derek Barnett for a 28-yard touchdown. Ryans praised Mixon, as well as his defensive unit, which made things incredibly difficult for the Dallas Cowboys throughout the night.
Indianapolis Colts: Shane Steichen: B
Steichen’s Colts traveled to MetLife Stadium and earned a very close 28-27 win over the New York Jets. Anthony Richardson threw a touchdown to Josh Downs and scored two rushing touchdowns. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, had three sacks but no interceptions. Steichen and offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter deserve a lot of credit for how effective the Colts’ rushing attack was, as Jonathan Taylor had 57 yards and Richardson had 32 yards. Steichen and the Colts return home in week 12 and will welcome the Detroit Lions to town.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Doug Pederson: F
Where do we begin? Pederson’s Jaguars were completely dismantled in their 6-52 loss on the road against the Detroit Lions. Mac Jones threw an interception against no touchdowns, the Jaguars’ rushing attack was held to a combined 41 yards, and Brian Thomas Jr. had 82 receiving yards. The defense couldn’t even land a single sack or interception against Jared Goff, nor could they stop the Lions’ offense from scoring four receiving touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns.
Head coach Pederson, offensive coordinator Press Taylor, and defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen may need to update their resumes and start looking for new non-NFL jobs on Indeed and LinkedIn sooner rather than later, as this loss is going to be tough to come back from.
Kansas City Chiefs: Andy Reid: B-
All good things have to come to an end sometimes, as Andy Reid’s Chiefs quest for an undefeated season ended in their 21-30 loss in Western New York against the Buffalo Bills. Patrick Mahomes threw three touchdowns against two interceptions, Kareem Hunt had 60 rushing yards, Noah Gray scored two touchdowns, and Xavier Worthy scored a touchdown. The defense, coached by Steve Spagnuolo, had an interception and a sack against Josh Allen but had trouble stopping the Bills’ passing attack.
Reid suggested after the game, he might back off a little bit to help rejuvenate the team by simplifying offensive and defensive schemes. Reid and the Chiefs travel to the Tar Heel State for a week 12 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Las Vegas Raiders: Antonio Pierce: D
Pierce’s Raiders had some positives on offense, as interim offensive coordinator Scott Turner is having an impact on play calling, but the team lost a tough 19-34 battle against the Miami Dolphins. Gardner Minshew threw two touchdowns against an interception, the Raiders’ rushing attack was held to 60 yards on the ground, and Brock Bowers and Ameer Abdullah both scored touchdowns.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, struggled to contain the Dolphins’ offense, even with two sacks against Tua Tagovailoa. The Raiders’ defense let the team down, as Pierce and company lost six straight games. The Raiders return home for a divisional showdown against the Denver Broncos in week 12.
Los Angeles Chargers: Jim Harbaugh: A-
Harbaugh has changed the culture of the Los Angeles Chargers, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 34-27 at home. Justin Herbert threw two touchdowns against no interceptions but lost a fumble, J.K. Dobbins scored two rushing touchdowns, Ladd McConkey had 123 receiving yards, and Will Dissly and Quentin Johnston both scored touchdowns. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, had three sacks but no interceptions.
The winning culture Harbaugh brought to the Chargers can be felt all over the place, as Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley said the team has belief and purpose. Harbaugh’s Chargers will remain home in week 12 and will welcome the Baltimore Ravens to town.
Los Angeles Rams: Sean McVay: B+
McVay’s Rams had a very nice afternoon as they defeated the New England Patriots 28-22. Matthew Stafford threw four touchdowns against no interceptions, Kyren Williams had 86 rushing yards, Puka Nacua and Colby Parkinson scored a touchdown, and Cooper Kupp hauled in two touchdowns. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Chris Shula, had three sacks, a fumble recovery, and an interception.
McVay’s Rams put up a show on offense. Shula’s defense should not have allowed 22 points on the board. That’ll be something the Rams will have to fix as they get prepared to host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
Miami Dolphins: Mike McDaniel: B+
McDaniel’s Dolphins had a nice afternoon as they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-19. Tua Tagovailoa threw three touchdowns against no interceptions, De’Von Achane scored a rushing touchdown, Jonnu Smith scored two touchdowns, and Tyreek Hill scored a touchdown. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, had three sacks and an interception against Gardner Minshew.
McDaniel and company have had more ball control on offense and can torch past opposing defenses, thanks to offensive coordinator Frank Smith’s playcalling. McDaniel and the Dolphins remain home and will welcome the New England Patriots for a Week 12 divisional showdown.
Minnesota Vikings: Kevin O’Connell: B+
O’Connell’s Vikings played a good game against the Tennessee Titans and won 23-13 in the end against a tough defense. Sam Darnold threw two touchdowns and scored a rushing touchdown, Aaron Jones had 39 rushing yards, Justin Jefferson had 81 receiving yards, and Jordan Addison and Cam Akers both scored receiving touchdowns.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Brian Flores, had five sacks and the game-ending interception. O’Connell’s team fought hard even though the score was relatively small and held the Titans’ rushing attack to a mere 33 yards on the ground. O’Connell’s Vikings travel north for a week 12 divisional showdown against the Chicago Bears in the Windy City.
New England Patriots: Jerod Mayo: D
Mayo’s coaching was not on point, as the Patriots fell 22-28 at home against the Los Angeles Rams. The offense, coached by offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, saw Drake Maye throw three touchdowns against an interception and lost fumble, Rhamondre Stevenson had 73 rushing yards, and Kendrick Bourne and Vederian Lowe each scored touchdowns. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington, couldn’t even land a single sack or an interception. Mayo and the company may be rebuilding, but this team needs to earn more effective wins.
New Orleans Saints: Darren Rizzi: B+
Rizzi earned his second win of the season as the Saints defeated the Cleveland Browns 35-14. Derek Carr threw two touchdowns, Taysom Hill scored three rushing touchdowns, Alvin Kamara had 67 rushing yards, and Marques Valdez-Scantling and Juwan Johnson both scored touchdowns.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Joe Woods, had three sacks but no interceptions. Since parting ways with former NFL head coach Dennis Allen, the Saints have turned the page and are moving in the proper direction under Rizzi’s leadership. Rizzi and the Saints enter a bye week for week 12 and will return to action in week 13 when the team hosts the Los Angeles Rams.
New York Giants: Brian Daboll: Bye Week
Giants head coach Daboll has had a miserable 2024 NFL season, as nothing has gone right for the team. Daboll and the Giants recently announced that quarterback Daniel Jones will be benched in favor of backup quarterback Tommy DeVito. Will this move help Daboll and the Giants out? Eh, we’ll just find out.
New York Jets: Jeff Ulbrich: C
Jeff Ulbrich’s Jets came very close to getting a win at home. Unfortunately, the Jets lost to the Indianapolis Colts 27-28. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns with no interceptions, Breece Hall had a nice day on the ground with a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown, and Kenny Yeboah scored a touchdown. The defense had two sacks and a fumble recovery but no interceptions. Ulbrich’s unit started the game slow but rallied later and tried to come back into the game, but it fell just short. Ulbrich’s Jets enter a week 12 bye week. Will they find a way to turn things around? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Philadelphia Eagles: Nick Sirianni: B+
Sirianni and the Eagles won their eighth straight game, as they came back from a 3-7 halftime deficit and defeated the Washington Commanders 26-18. Jalen Hurts didn’t throw any touchdown passes and scored a rushing touchdown, Saquon Barkley went off with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and A.J. Brown had 65 receiving yards.
The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, shined as they had three sacks and an interception. However, it was the secondary that held the Commanders’ wide receivers to a combined four receptions for 28 yards. Sirianni and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore deserve a lot of credit for how this Eagles team is performing so far this season.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Tomlin: B-
Mike Tomlin’s Steelers may not have played a solid game offensively, but the defense and special teams made up for it as they defeated the Baltimore Ravens 18-16 thanks to Chris Boswell kicking six field goals. Russell Wilson threw an interception with no touchdowns, Najee Harris had 63 rushing yards, and George Pickens had 89 receiving yards. The defense, coached by Tomlin and defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, had an interception, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
The Steelers’ defense, under head coach Tomlin’s tutelage, continued to show their opponents why they’re one of the best units in the NFL. Tomlin and company travel to the Buckeye State for a week 12 divisional showdown against the Cleveland Browns.
San Francisco 49ers: Kyle Shanahan: C-
Shanahan’s 49ers had a couple of golden opportunities to win the game but fell short in the team’s 17-20 loss at home against the Seattle Seahawks. Brock Purdy threw a touchdown to Jauan Jennings against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, while Christian McCaffrey had 79 rushing yards on the ground. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen, had four sacks and an interception.
Shanahan’s squad is currently dealing with injuries, as George Kittle was out due to a hamstring injury. Nick Bosa left the game with an oblique injury, which is bad news. Shanahan and the 49ers travel to the Midwest for a week 12 showdown against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
Seattle Seahawks: Mike Macdonald: B
Macdonald’s Seahawks got their revenge against the San Francisco 49ers, as they defeated them in Santa Clara, CA, 20-17. Geno Smith threw an interception early on but scored a rushing touchdown, Kenneth Walker III scored a rushing touchdown, and Jaxson Smith-Njigba had 110 receiving yards. The defense, coached by Macdonald and Aden Durde, had two sacks and an interception. It was a very important victory for the first-year head coach, as it helped the Seahawks stay relevant in the playoff hunt and got them out of last place in the NFC West… for now.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Todd Bowles: Bye Week
Bowles’ Buccaneers need to snap their four-game losing streak and fast, even though Baker Mayfield’s production has been good this season. Luckily, Mike Evans was seen at practice, which is a good sign for the Bucs’ next game in a week, when they travel to MetLife Stadium and square off against the New York Giants.
Tennessee Titans: Brian Callahan: D+
Callahan and the Titans had an okay afternoon, which could’ve gone better in their 13-23 loss at home against the Minnesota Vikings. Will Levis threw a touchdown against an interception but was sacked five times, the Titans’ rushing attack was held to a combined 33 yards on the ground, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine scored a 98-yard touchdown and had 117 receiving yards. The defense, coached by defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, had two sacks and a fumble recovery. Callahan and offensive coordinator Nick Holz need to get the running game moving and try to get the team to finish the 2024 season on a positive note.
Washington Commanders: Dan Quinn: D
Quinn and the Commanders let a 7-3 slip away, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 18-26. Jayden Daniels threw a touchdown to Zach Ertz against an interception, and Brian Robinson Jr. scored a rushing touchdown. On defense, the Commanders had two sacks and no interceptions. Offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury’s pass attack fell flat as Eagles’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s secondary shut down the Commanders’ wide receivers to a combined four receptions for 28 yards. Quinn and company have to rebound from this loss as they return home for another divisional matchup against the Dallas Cowboys coming to town.
