Week seven was exciting, as several notable names suffered injuries while some NFL teams put on dominating performances against their opponents.
Some games were closer than others, as the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings played an instant classic for control of the NFC North. However, other teams have heavily regressed and have a lot of ground to make up as they look to turn things around in week eight before time runs out in the 2024 NFL season.
Here are the grades for all 32 NFL teams after week seven.
Which teams had the highest grades in the NFL after week seven?
Arizona Cardinals: C+
The Cardinals played a decent matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers and won the game 17-15 in walk-off fashion thanks to kicker Chad Ryland. Kyler Murray threw a touchdown against an interception and scored a rushing touchdown, James Conner rushed for 101 yards on the night, and Greg Dortch scored a touchdown. On defense, the Redbirds had a fumble recovery and three sacks. A good night for the Cardinals as they earned a nice last-second win as they played a neck-and-neck battle with the Chargers as they kicked five field goals all game.
Atlanta Falcons: D+
The Falcons’ three-game win streak came to an end as they lost 14-34. Kirk Cousins threw a touchdown against two interceptions, Bijan Robinson scored a rushing touchdown, and Drake London scored a receiving touchdown. On defense, the Falcons had a sack and no interceptions. Despite a good game from Robinson on the ground, turnovers and a poor defensive pass rush doomed the Falcons at home. The Falcons travel south for a divisional rematch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week eight.

The Ravens started the game slow, immediately turned the engine on after the Buccaneers scored the first touchdown of the game, and defeated the Bucs 41-31 under the lights. Josh Allen threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Ray Davis and James Cook both scored rushing touchdowns, Ty Johnson scored a touchdown, and Amari Cooper scored his first touchdown as a Buffalo Bill. On defense, the Bills had three sacks, a fumble recovery, and an interception by Damar Hamlin. The Bills shined at home as the Josh Allen and Amari Cooper connection looks to get stronger from here.
Carolina Panthers: F
The Panthers had a very brutal afternoon, as they were crushed 7-40 against the Washington Commanders. Andy Dalton threw two interceptions against no touchdowns, Chubba Hubbard scored the team’s only touchdown in the afternoon, and Ja’Tavion Sanders had 61 receiving yards, while Dionte Johnson had a quiet afternoon. On defense, the Panthers had a sack and no interceptions. The Panthers were a complete mess, as the Commanders ran and passed the ball all over, even with Marcus Mariota playing well, while Jayden Daniels went out with a rib injury.
Chicago Bears: Bye Week
The Bears have been a surprise this season, with Caleb Williams and D’Andre Swift starting to emerge as the heart and soul of the offense while the Bears’ defense continues to be extremely fierce.
Cincinnati Bengals: A-
The Bengals played a very good game against the Cleveland Browns in their 21-14 victory on the road. Joe Burrow threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Chase Brown had 44 rushing yards, and Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase both scored touchdowns. On defense, the Bengals had four sacks and two interceptions. On special teams, Charlie Jones returned a 100-yard opening kickoff for a touchdown. Cleveland Browns: D
The Browns played an ugly game and failed a comeback attempt, as they lost to their in-state rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals, 14-21. Deshaun Watson struggled with no touchdowns or interceptions and was sacked twice, but left the game with an Achilles injury. Jameis Winston came in and threw a touchdown, while Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw two interceptions. Nick Chubb returned after recovering from his injuries last season and scored a touchdown, and David Njoku scored a touchdown. On defense, the Browns had three sacks and no defensive turnovers. A rough afternoon for the Browns as they continue to fall toward rock bottom unless they find a way to turn it all around when they host the Baltimore Ravens in week eight.
Dallas Cowboys: Bye Week
Even after the Cowboys humiliating 9-47 loss at home against the Detroit Lions, they still have a lot of work ahead of them as they hit the road for a week eight showdown against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
Denver Broncos: C+
The Broncos rebounded from their disastrous divisional loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and earned a nice 33-10 road win against the New Orleans Saints. Bo Nix didn’t throw any touchdowns or interceptions all game, Javante Williams rebounded from week six and scored two rushing touchdowns, and Troy Franklin caught five receptions for 50 yards. On defense, the Broncos had six sacks, no interceptions, and two fumble recoveries, where one was returned for a touchdown. It was a great night for Sean Payton as his Broncos earned a win over his former NFL team, honoring Saints’ legendary quarterback Drew Brees.
Detroit Lions: A-
The Lions and Minnesota Vikings put on an instant classic, as they played a neck-and-neck battle which resulted in the Lions winning 31-29. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Jahmyr Gibbs scored two rushing touchdowns, Amon-Ra St. Brown scored a touchdown, and Kalif Raymond scored a touchdown. On defense, the Lions had four sacks and Brian Branch had an interception against Sam Darnold. A strong effort by the Lions as they won in enemy territory and reclaimed the NFC North crown, for now.
Green Bay Packers: B
The Packers returned from being down 14-19 at halftime and won a competitive 24-22 battle against the Houston Texans. Jordan Love threw three touchdowns against two interceptions. Josh Jacobs had 76 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown, Dontavyion Wicks scored a touchdown, and Tucker Kraft scored a touchdown. On defense, the Packers had four sacks but no interceptions on the day. It was a good afternoon for the Packers, despite Jordan Love throwing two interceptions while the Packers’ defense shined and made things harder for the Texans’ passing attack.
Houston Texans: C
The Texans played a competitive battle on the road and were up 19-14 at halftime until they fell 22-24 against the Green Bay Packers. C.J. Stroud struggled for the majority of the game as he threw no touchdowns or interceptions and was sacked four times. Joe Mixon scored the Texans’ two touchdowns of the day, and the Texans’ passing attack was held to a combined 86 receiving yards all game. On defense, the Texans had three sacks, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery as they kept the team afloat while on the road in Lambeau Field. The Texans return home for a week eight divisional showdown against the Indianapolis Colts.
Indianapolis Colts: D+
The Colts played an ugly battle against the Miami Dolphins but managed to come out on top in a 16-10 victory. Anthony Richardson threw no touchdowns or interceptions, Tyler Goodson scored the team’s only touchdown on the day, and Michael Pittman Jr. had 63 receiving yards. On defense, the Colts had two sacks and two fumble recoveries against the Dolphins. An ugly game nonetheless, as the Colts missed Jonathan Taylor’s production, as he was out due to a right high ankle sprain he suffered back in week four.
Jacksonville Jaguars: B+
The Jaguars finally stepped up and earned their second win of the 2024 season with a 32-16 victory over the New England Patriots. Trevor Lawrence threw a touchdown against no interceptions, Tank Bigsby scored two rushing touchdowns, Brian Thomas Jr. scored a touchdown, and Parker Washington scored a 96-yard punt return for a touchdown. On defense, the Jaguars had two sacks but no defensive turnovers. A good afternoon for the Jaguars as they return home from their two-week business trip abroad for a week eight showdown at home against the Green Bay Packers.
Kansas City Chiefs: B-
The Chiefs played a very ugly battle against the San Francisco 49ers but emerged on top 28-12 thanks to their defense. Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions and scored a rushing touchdown, Karem Hunt scored two rushing touchdowns, and Noah Gray had 66 receiving yards, while Travis Kelce only had 17 receiving yards. On defense, the Chiefs had a sack and three interceptions against Brock Purdy. A very brutal game for the team’s passing attack, but the run game and defense got the job done, as they kept their undefeated NFL season alive.
Las Vegas Raiders: D
The Raiders were a complete mess in their 15-20 loss on the road against the Los Angeles Rams. Aidan O’Connell left the game with a fractured thumb, while Gardner Minshew threw three interceptions against no touchdowns and lost a fumble, Alexander Mattison had 92 rushing yards, and Brock Bowers had 93 receiving yards. On defense, the Raiders had a sack and interception. A rough afternoon for the Raiders as kicker Daniel Carlson made five field goals on the day to keep the Raiders in the game even though his efforts weren’t enough.
Los Angeles Chargers: D+
The Chargers had a decent night in the desert as they ultimately fell to the Arizona Cardinals 15-17 in the final seconds of the game. Justin Herbert threw no touchdowns or interceptions, J.K. Dobbins rushed for 40 yards, and Will Dissly had 81 receiving yards. On defense, the Chargers had an interception from Teair Tart but no sacks at all. Kicker Cameron Dicker made five field goals for the Bolts, but his efforts weren’t enough as the Cardinals defeated them in the final seconds of the game with a field goal of their own.
Los Angeles Rams: C
The Rams didn’t play their best game, even though they defeated the woeful Las Vegas Raiders 20-15. Matthew Stafford threw an interception against no touchdowns, Kyren Williams scored two rushing touchdowns, and Tyler Johnson had 57 receiving yards. On defense, the Raiders had two sacks and three interceptions, and Kamren Curl recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown. Despite the woes, this NFL team looks like they’re taking steps in the right direction, unlike the Raiders. The Rams have their work cut out for them as they welcome the Minnesota Vikings to Los Angeles for a week eight homestand.
Miami Dolphins: D+
Just as the Dolphins were trying to get things clicking, they fell 10-16 to the Indianapolis Colts in an ugly battle. Tyler Huntley threw a touchdown against no interceptions but left the game with a shoulder injury, De’Von Achane rushed for 77 yards, and Jonnu Smith scored a touchdown. On defense, the Dolphins had no sacks and one fumble recovery. The Dolphins’ offensive woes continue, as losing Huntley is going to sting while Tua Tagovailoa continues to recover from his concussion.
Minnesota Vikings: B
The Vikings put up a good fight in their battle against the Detroit Lions but came up short in a very close 29-31 loss in the end. Sam Darnold threw a touchdown against an interception, Aaron Jones scored a rushing touchdown, and Justin Jefferson scored a touchdown. On defense, the Vikings had four sacks and a fumble recovery. A strong fight from the Vikings, but they couldn’t pull out the win in the end, as their undefeated season came to an end.
New England Patriots: C-
The Patriots had a tough time in London as they lost 16-32 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Drake Maye threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, the Patriots’ rushing attack was held to a combined 38 yards all game, and JaMycal Hasty and K.J. Osborn both scored touchdowns. On defense, the Patriots couldn’t even land a single sack against Trevor Lawrence, nor could they secure a turnover. Despite some good play from Drake Maye, the Patriots’ run game is still a mess, and penalties are still an issue as the Patriots return stateside for a home stand battle against the New York Jets in week eight.
New Orleans Saints: D-
Where to begin? The Saints season is falling apart faster than a game of Jenga, as they lost 10-33 to Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos. Spencer Rattler threw no touchdowns or interceptions but lost two fumbles, which were recovered by the Broncos’ defense for a touchdown. The Saints’ rushing attack was held to a combined 97 yards all game, and Cedrick Wilson Jr. scored the team’s only touchdown. On defense, the Saints had no sacks or interceptions against Bo Nix and had no answers for stopping the Broncos’ rushing attack. Overall, it was a very miserable Thursday night for the Who Dat’s, which was supposed to be where they honored Drew Brees.
New York Giants: F
The Giants played a very disastrous game, as they were smacked by Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles 3-28. Daniel Jones threw no touchdowns or interceptions but was sacked seven times, the Giants’ rushing attack was held to a combined 76 yards, and Malik Nabers had 41 receiving yards. On defense, the Giants had five sacks but no interceptions. An awful afternoon for the Giants. They have a lot of mistakes to clean up as they get ready for their week eight matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road on Monday Night Football.
New York Jets: D+
The New York Jets imploded in their 15-37 loss on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers, even after trading for Davante Adams. Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown against two interceptions, Breece Hall scored a rushing touchdown, and Tyler Conklin scored a touchdown. On defense, the Jets had a sack but no defensive turnovers. A brutal Sunday night for the Jets as they continue their road trip up to Foxborough, MA, and square off against the New England Patriots for a week eight divisional rematch.
Philadelphia Eagles: B+
The Eagles took over MetLife stadium and crushed the woeful New York Giants 28-3. Jalen Hurts threw a touchdown pass and scored two rushing touchdowns against no interceptions, Saquon Barkley scored a rushing touchdown against his former NFL team, and A.J. Brown scored a receiving touchdown. On defense, the Eagles had eight sacks and no interceptions. A very strong afternoon for the Eagles as they get prepared for their week eight road trip against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pittsburgh Steelers: A-
Russell Wilson got the start over Justin Fields and didn’t look back as he led the Steelers to a very dominating 37-15 victory over the New York Jets. Wilson threw two touchdown passes and scored a rushing touchdown, Najee Harris scored a rushing touchdown, Van Jefferson scored a touchdown, and George Pickens scored a touchdown. On defense, the Steelers had a sack, and Bob Bishop had two interceptions. A very strong night for the Steelers, as they look to strike fear against their opponents with Wilson leading the way.
San Francisco 49ers: D+
The 49ers fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in an ugly 12-28 loss at home. Brock Purdy threw three costly interceptions against no touchdowns, Jordan Mason rushed for 58 yards, George Kittle had 92 receiving yards, and Brandon Aiyuk had 23 receiving yards but suffered an ACL injury in the loss. On defense, the 49ers had two sacks and two interceptions. Despite the 49ers’ efforts on defense by stopping the Chiefs’ struggling passing attack, they weren’t able to stop the Chiefs’ run game or the intense Chiefs’ defense.
Seattle Seahawks: B+
After dropping three straight games, the Seahawks finally earned a very nice 34-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Geno Smith threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Kenneth Walker III scored a rushing touchdown and receiving touchdown, and DK Metcalf scored a touchdown. On defense, the Seahawks had three sacks, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. A great team win for the Seahawks as they look to get their NFL season back on track.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: B-
The Buccaneers started the game slowly and attempted a comeback against the Baltimore Ravens but ended up falling short 31-41. Baker Mayfield threw three touchdowns against two interceptions, Bucky Irving scored a touchdown, Rachaad White scored two touchdowns, Mike Evans scored a touchdown before he left the game with a hamstring injury at the beginning of the game, and Chris Godwin had 65 receiving yards until he left the game with a serious ankle injury near the very end. On defense, the Bucs had a fumble recovery and two sacks. The Bucs put up a strong fight but lost both Godwin and Evans to injuries, which will hurt this NFL team in the long term.
Tennessee Titans: D
Even though the Titans had a 10-7 lead at halftime on the road against the Buffalo Bills, they let the lead slip and lost 10-34 in the end. Mason Rudolph, who saw action while Will Levis recovered from a shoulder injury, threw a touchdown against an interception, Tony Pollard rushed for 61 yards, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine scored a touchdown. On defense, the Titans had a sack and no interceptions. Despite some good plays on defense, the Titans’ offense was a mess. They might need a new quarterback for the 2025 season.
Washington Commanders: A-
Even as Jayden Daniels left the game with a rib injury, Marcus Mariota put down the clipboard and led the Commanders to a commanding 40-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Mariota threw two touchdowns against no interceptions, Brian Robinson Jr. scored a rushing touchdown, Zach Ertz scored a touchdown, Ben Sinnot scored a touchdown, and Terry McLaurin had 98 receiving yards. On defense, the Commanders had two sacks and two interceptions, while Dante Fowler Jr. returned his interception for a 67-yard pick-six. A strong and dominating day for the Commanders, even without Jayden Daniels, who hopefully will recover well and return to action soon.
