With week 7 in the books, some quarterbacks had great games, other very talented quarterbacks, we all have come to know and admire, took a slight step back.
Here is where all 32 NFL Teams quarterbacks look after week 7 games:
Arizona Cardinals: Joshua Dobbs: D+ (Last week D)
Joshua Dobbs stepped up slightly in the Cardinals week seven loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but if he wants to see success he has more improvements to make as the season continues. Dobbs completed 19 passes for 146 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for 43 yards on seven carries, and scored Arizona’s lone touchdown on the day. Dobbs can be a leader of this team if the Cardinals decide to move on from Kyler Murray. That is not likely to happen anytime soon as Dobbs has to overcome some struggles to possibly be a starter next season.
Atlanta Falcons: Desmond Ridder: C (Last week D)
Desmond Ridder is a known hit-or-miss quarterback in the league. This showed itself during his week seven performance. Ridder completed 19 passes for 250 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, had 38 rushing yards on six carries, and scored one rushing touchdown. Ridder is going to be a quarterback in the league, it’s just going to take some time for him to develop into a strong leader on the field delivering more hits than misses.
Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson: A (Last week B+)

Lamar Jackson didn’t look back as he and the Ravens torched the Lions 38-6. Jackson completed 21 passes for 357 yards, threw three touchdowns, no interceptions, wasn’t sacked, rushed for 36 yards on nine carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. This is the Lamar Jackson NFL fans have been waiting to see since his 2019 MVP season. Todd Monken has done a phenomenal job awakening this offense, and it shows. They have done a great job so far this season.
Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen C- (Last week B)
Josh Allen didn’t do much in the first half but did attempt a solid comeback in the second half despite getting dropped by the struggling New England Patriots. Allen completed 27 passes for 265 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, was sacked once, rushed for 17 yards on seven carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. This loss on the road to the Patriots is a setback for the Bills, but Josh Allen is a comeback leader and he will surely rally to come back from this heartbreaker of a divisional loss in the weeks to come.
Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young: Bye Week (Last week C+)
Bryce Young is a good offensive leader, but the one thing that is holding the Panthers back is their defense and lack of game-changing plays as is evidenced, thus far, all season.
Chicago Bears: Tyson Bagent: B (Last week F)
Bagent made a name for himself, for the Bears faithful, as he completed 21 passes for 129 yards, threw a touchdown, threw no interceptions, and was sacked once. Bagent also had 24 rushing yards on three carries. Bagent is a reliable backup for the Bears, but the question is, “can he be a good quarterback long-term if Justin Fields goes down again?” If Fields does get hurt again, Bagent has proven he is capable and can help relieve the Bear’s offense.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow: Bye Week (Last week B+)
Burrow is playing good football, but he needs to continue playing at this level, and more, if the Bengals want to be true title contenders in the 2023 season.
Cleveland Browns: PJ Walker: D+ (Last week D)
The game started with DeShaun Watson who left with a concussion and was out for the rest of the game. PJ Walker stepped in and completed the game for Watson and got another win with the help of the rushing attack. Walker completed 15 passes for 178 yards, threw no touchdowns, threw one interception, and was sacked twice in the win. Walker may not be a star quarterback in the league, but he still can be a reliable game manager in tough situations. He proved that by helping the Browns secure a nail-biting victory over the Indianapolis Colts on the road.
Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott Bye Week (Last week B)
Dak Prescott played a good rebound game in week six. Success rides on him being able to sustain that level of play, from that victory, in the following weeks to come.
Denver Broncos: Russell Wilson: C+ (Last week D-)
Russell Wilson played fair against the opposing Green Bay Packers visiting the Mile High City in their week seven game. Wilson completed 20 passes for 194 yards, threw one touchdown and no interceptions, and rushed for 21 yards on one carry. Despite carrying last season’s struggles into this this season, Wilson has shown flashes of solid performance, reminiscent of his Seattle Seahawks glory days, which can help a struggling Broncos team earn a few more wins this season.
Detroit Lions: Jared Goff: D (Last week A)
It was a very disappointing week for Jared Goff. Goff completed 33 passes for 284 yards, threw no touchdowns, threw one interception, and was sacked five times. Goff had an off day on the road in Baltimore. Undoubtedly, he will turn things around and play like the Jared Goff we saw in recent weeks. Goff ran into a very physical Ravens defense that was ready for him and the entire Lions team.
Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love: C- (Last week Bye Week)
Jordan Love played a little better than he did in the Packers week five loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. However, it was not enough, to right the path to victory, as Love and the Pack still lost on the road in Denver. Love completed 21 passes for 180 yards, threw two touchdowns against one game-changing interception, and rushed for 21 yards on three carries. Despite the loss, Love is and will be the leader of the Packer’s offense moving forward. This season may not go the Packer’s way, but Love, certainly will have a better season next year.
Houston Texans: C.J. Stroud: Bye Week (Last week B)
C.J. Stroud’s performance so far this season is Rookie of the Year worthy. He needs to keep it up to keep the Texans viable as a dark-horse Wildcard team.
Indianapolis Colts: Gardner Minshew B- (Last week D-)
With Anthony Richardson officially out for the season due to shoulder surgery, Minshew is the guy for the Colts. Minshew stepped up in week seven despite losing a close one to Cleveland. Minshew completed 15 passes for 305 yards, threw two touchdowns, one interception, rushed for 29 yards on three carries, and scored two rushing touchdowns. Minshew is a great backup quarterback who did everything he could to get the Colts the win, but Cleveland’s defense and run game took the game for the Browns.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence B (Last week B)
Lawrence played another great game on the road as he came out explosive and stayed efficient throughout the game, giving the Jaguars the victory in New Orleans. Lawrence completed 20 passes for 209 yards, threw one touchdown to Christian Kirk, threw no interceptions, and wasn’t sacked the entire game. Proof positive on how good Lawrence is for the Jags. Lawrence is improving his game with each passing week and shining as a true leader for the Jaguars. He is comparable to a Peyton Manning leading the Colts from the late 90s through the 2000s.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes: A (Last week B+)
Patrick Mahomes had quite the show at Arrowhead Stadium in week seven. Mahomes completed 32 passes for 424 yards, threw four touchdowns against one interception, and rushed for 29 yards on four carries. This is Patrick Mahomes playing in an MVP-like form and making it look easy against a team like the Los Angeles Chargers.
What changes would you make to our quarterback rankings?
Las Vegas Raiders: Brian Hoyer: F (Last week C+)
With Jimmy Garoppolo out with a back injury. Hoyer had to step up and take his chance leading the Raiders offense. It didn’t go well for the veteran backup as Hoyer completed 17 passes for 129 yards, threw two interceptions, and was sacked once. Aiden O’Connell had to come into the game and throw a touchdown to Jakobi Meyers at the end of the game. Garappolo is expected to be back, but Hoyer’s poor performance against the Bears hurt his chances of being the number two guy on the Raider’s roster in place for O’Connell.
Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert: D+ (Last week B-)
Justin Herbert struggled in the loud, Boombastic Arrowhead Stadium- in week seven. Herbert completed 17 passes for 259 yards, threw one touchdown against two interceptions, and was sacked five times. Something needs to change in Los Angeles if Herbert and the Chargers want to stay afloat in the competitive AFC West. This week seven showdown did not offer any lifelines to the Chargers. No, not one bit.
Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Stafford C (Last week B)
The Rams may have lost, but Matthew Stafford played reasonably in week seven. Stafford completed 14 passes for 231 yards, threw one touchdown to Tutu Atwell, and one costly interception to TJ Watt. Stafford played fair, but the competition in the league is getting much fiercer as teams are almost at the halfway point of the season!
Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa C (Last week A)
Tua Tagovailoa played fair but could’ve played better in a very hostile Lincoln Financial Field in week seven’s 17-31 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Tagovailoa completed 23 passes for 216 yards, threw one touchdown against one interception, and rushed for negative three yards on one carry. The us every indication that Tagovailoa is only going to get better and better, but he needs to learn how to play in truly hostile stadiums as a road quarterback to truly be successful.
Minnesota Vikings: Kirk Cousins: B+ (Last week B)
Kirk Cousins performed very well in the Vikings’ surprise Monday Night Football 22-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. Cousins completed 35 passes for 378 yards, threw two touchdowns to Jordan Addison against one interception, and was not sacked all game. Cousins showed why he’s a great leader for the Vikings. His team rallied like their 2022 NFC North Champion-selves- and must continue that momentum to stay relevant.
New England Patriots: Mac Jones: B (Last week D-)
After three weeks of struggles and getting benched for Bailey Zappe, Mac Jones found his A game in a 29-25 upset victory over the Buffalo Bills. Jones completed 25 passes for 272 yards, threw two touchdowns, no interceptions, and was sacked twice. Jones can play in the NFL whether it’s with the Patriots or another franchise he’ll potentially sign with in the future. For now, Jones is here to stay on the Pats and can secure some victories for a team trying to rebuild in the post-Tom Brady era.
New Orleans Saints: Derek Carr C+ (Last week C)
Derek Carr took a step back against a very fierce Jacksonville Jaguars defense. Carr completed 33 passes for 301 yards, threw a touchdown and an interception. Carr can play but needs to make good decisions with the football at all times. Carr did whatever he could to help the Saints come back in the second half, but his efforts weren’t enough as he threw an interception in the third quarter to Foyesade Oluokun who returned it for a 24-yard touchdown. Ouch!
New York Giants: Tyrod Taylor C+ (Last week D+)
Fresh off his loss in week six, Tyrod Taylor came into week seven and led the Giants to victory over the Commanders. Taylor completed 18 passes for 279 yards, threw two touchdowns, no interceptions, and was sacked four times. Taylor is another great backup quarterback who can chalk-up the win. That said, the Giants have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Even with Taylor or Daniel Jones making impressive plays the Giants offense needs an overhaul.
New York Jets: Zach Wilson: Bye week (Last week C-)
If Zach Wilson is going to be the leader of this Jets team, while Aaron Rodgers recovers, he truly needs to step his game up and not rely on the Jets’ defense to bail him out of tough situations.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts A- (Last week D)
It was back to business for Jalen Hurts as he rebounded from his disappointing performance in week six to the New York Jets in a week seven victory to the Miami Dolphins. Hurts completed 23 passes for 279 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, rushed for 21 yards on 11 carries, and scored a rushing touchdown. Hurts is back to playing elite football as he quickly got passed his week six performance and improved his game in the week seven victory against the Miami Dolphins.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Kenny Pickett: C+ (Last week Bye Week)
Similar to Matthew Stafford, Kenny Pickett played a fair game on the road and got the win. Pickett completed 17 passes for 230 yards, threw no touchdowns or interceptions, rushed for zero yards on eight carries, and scored a rushing touchdown on the day. Pickett is a good signal caller for the Steelers as well as a guy who can hold down the offense while TJ Watt and the defense hold the field. This has been their approach so far this season.
San Francisco 49ers: Brock Purdy: D (Last week C-)
It was a very bad week seven for Brock Purdy as the 49ers continued to struggle on the road. Purdy completed 21 passes for 272 yards, threw a touchdown to Christian McCaffrey against two interceptions, and was sacked once all game. It was pretty painful to watch Purdy struggle on the road, but hopefully, he and the rest of the team turn things around quickly in order to stay relevant and capture a potential NFC West crown.
Seattle Seahawks: Geno Smith: C+ (Last week F)
Geno Smith stepped up after last week’s slump of a performance in Cincinnati. Smith completed 18 passes for 219 yards, threw two touchdowns against one interception, and rushed for 10 yards on six carries. If Smith continues to play fair and consistently, he can truly help the Seahawks not only get to the playoffs but get a win in the playoffs as well.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Baker Mayfield: C (Last week D)
Mayfield can be a good quarterback and he has shown flashes of leadership on the Bucs so far this season, but he played an average game against the division rival Atlanta Falcons. Mayfield completed 27 passes for 275 yards, threw one touchdown against one interception, and rushed for 32 yards on three carries. Mayfield has been an average quarterback with some hits and some misses with the Buccaneers all season. Will he lead the Bucs to a division title? Maybe- is he turns in more hits in the coming weeks? It is possible in a weak NFC South.
Tennessee Titans: Ryan Tannehill: Bye week (Last week F)
It’s been a rough week for Tannehill as he has been dealing with an ankle injury. It may be time for Malik Willis and Will Levis to step up and perform for the Titan’s in the upcoming games this season.
Washington Commanders: Sam Howell: F+ (Last week A)
Sam Howell took a massive step back in the Commander’s week seven loss to the Giants on the road. Howell completed 22 passes for 249 yards, threw no touchdowns, one interception to Deonte Banks, and was sacked six times. The Commanders, as a whole, are a hit-or-miss team. Howell needs to show more leadership and avoid getting sacked as well as have a healthy offensive line to make impressive plays in the pocket- the Giants outplayed them on that.
