Winning solves everything, they say. But what about losing? It makes bad things even worse.
Nobody expected the Giants to beat the Cowboys on Sunday while starting third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito.
The frustration of not being competitive on Sunday boiled over on the Giants sidelines and cameras caught it all. Wide receivers Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard got in each other’s faces during a heated discussion.
The incident went down during the third quarter of the Fox broadcast as the Giants were again being destroyed by the Cowboys in what ended up being a 49-17 loss Sunday.
It’s unclear what exactly sparked the exchange, but Shepard went up to Slayton and appeared to be trying to calm his fellow receiver down.
The Giants are 22-8 a year after going 9-7-1 and reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs. They were one of the NFL’s sexy sleeper picks entering the 2023 season and have been a complete disappointment.
