New York Giants rookie linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux drew criticism on Sunday for performing a “Snow Angel” celebration while Indianapolis Colts quarterback Nick Foles lay down beside him injured.
Late in the second quarter of the Giants-Colts game, Thibodeaux came from the right edge off the right edge and brought down Foles for an easy sack. Thibodeaux proceeded to celebrate with a “Snow Angel” while Foles was down.
Foles was able to get up but had to be carted to the locker room. Sam Ehlinger finished the game for the slumping Colts, and the Giants cruised to a 38-10 victory to lock down their first playoff berth since the 2016 season.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Thibodeaux stated that he didn’t know at the moment that Foles was injured. The Oregon product added that he hopes Foles “gets well” and is “all right”, per ESPN’s Kimberly A. Martin.
“When I did realize that he was hurt, that’s when we started getting up,” Thibodeaux said. “When you’re doing a celebration, you’re not looking to see who’s doing what. But I hope he gets well and I hope he’s all right.”

Foles completed eight of 13 pass attempts for 81 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception before leaving the game to injury. Ehlinger completed nine of 14 pass attempts for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Thibodeaux, who was drafted fifth overall by the Giants in 2022, has four sacks, two forced fumbles, a pair of fumble recoveries and five pass defenses. The 22-year-old has been a key piece on a stingy New York defense that propelled the team to an unexpected playoff berth.
The Giants will try and spoil the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC East hopes when the two teams meet next week. The Dallas Cowboys would win the division with a victory and a Giants W over Philly.
