After his players watched the Eagles lose, keeping them from making the playoffs, Giants head coach Joe Judge had a message for Philly.
“To disrespect the game by going out there and not competing for 60 minutes and doing everything you can to help those players win, we will never do that as long as I’m the HC of the Giants.”
The Eagles didn’t land the Giants an unlikely NFL playoff berth — and some of the New York-based team’s past and present players were left fuming. Washington defeated the Eagles 20-14, securing the NFC East title for Washington (7-9) and leaving the Giants (6-10) in second place.
It was just a 3-point game when head coach Doug Pederson elected to bench Jalen Hurts and put in Nate Sudfeld, who could do absolutely nothing against a motivated Washington team.
“I was coaching to win,” Pederson told reporters after the game, adding he thought Sudfeld deserved to get on the field since he hasn’t had many snaps during his time with the team.
