Today is an exciting day for the teams whose seasons will continue next week in the playoffs. But for these other non-playoff teams, this is a miserable reminder that your team was simply not good enough to extend their season.
A game between two of those non-playoff teams is taking place on Sunday in New Jersey, where the New York Giants are hosting the Washington Football Team in their season finale. Both teams are simply playing for draft position and nothing else.
Giants fans have grown so tired of their team that many of them didn’t even bother to show up at MetLife to watch the final game of the year. And who can blame them? To tell you the truth, I’m surprised they even had this many fans show up.

The Giants are 4-12 heading into the game, marking their fifth straight losing season. They haven’t shown any progress, and they look nowhere close to contending. Their quarterbacks stink. Their coach looks highly under-qualified. And the running back they spent a second overall pick on can’t stay healthy and already appears to be on the decline.
Simply put, this franchise is a mess. And the fact that they’re still making money off their fans seems like a crime. What a mess.
