Georgia defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett went a little too far while attempting to will Jalen Carter into the NFL as the eighth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday night, dropping some casual racism during his live stream.
Jarrett, like most NFL fans, was keen on at least seeing the first 10 picks and was hoping Carter could remain in Georgia, which would have been the case had he been drafted by the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons had the eighth pick in the first round but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wasn’t the one who revealed it, with the team allowing a guest to do the honors.
A rather impatient Jamaal was heard making a remark directed at said guest that he probably wishes he could take back. You could check it out in the clip right below:
The Falcons did not select Carter, opting for running back Bijan Robinson instead. However, Carter’s name was called right after, with the Philadelphia Eagles taking him at No. 9.
Prior to the draft, the standout defensive tackle had revealed having received assurances from Philly, who had the 10th overall pick at the time. They ended up trading up a spot to ensure they wouldn’t miss out on the former Georgia star, who is now set for redemption after what could have been a disastrous end to a promising career.

As for Jamaal, he could end up getting penalized by his school in some way after his ill-advised outburst.
