Even when George Pickens has a good week, something has to go wrong for him.
The NFL fined Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens $16,391 for unsportsmanlike conduct. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Pickens was fined for pointing at Bengals safety Jordan Battle en route to a 66-yard touchdown.
The Steelers prevailed 34-11 and in the process kept their playoff hopes alive.
The fine on Pickens was the 28th fine of the season to a Steelers player, according to Spotrac. For the wideout, this would be his third fine of the year. He was fined for taunting and for a blindside block during the Steelers’ Week 7 win over the Rams.
Nobody could’ve foreseen the type of game that Pickens would have with leading up to Pittsburgh’s win over Cincinnati.
The second-year wideout was the center of controversy as he failed to block for his teammate during a running play against the Colts. He made it worse when he said he was trying to avoid injury.
