The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Georgia Bulldogs star wide receiver George Pickens in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. Pickens has generated some serious buzz throughout training camp and the NFL preseason.
So far through two games, that buzz has died down considerably. Pickens has only recorded two receptions for 26 yards in two games.
The youngster spoke to the media on Tuesday and seemingly threw his QB under the bus when he said his lack of production is not for a lack of not getting open.
“Yeah, I feel like everyone is (getting open) too, so it’s not just me,” Pickens said.
If everyone is getting open, including him, then that means the QB isn’t getting them the ball.
The rookie wide receiver finished the preseason with eight receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. He also showed his ability to be an impressive blocker.

George Pickens looks healthy after suffering a torn ACL in the spring of 2021. He should be in for a big year. It will be fun to watch his growth if the ball can be sent his way.
